I'm buying my first spikes. Never had spikes before. On the tracks, what's the MINIMUM speed per mile I should be doing on the tracks so that they don't feel strange on my feet??
Mine fit pretty much exactly the same as my Next%s. Maybe a tiny tiny bit smaller than Next%s, but unless your Next%s (if you have a pair) are on the large side, I'd order in the same size. I don't have any other Nike shoes to compare with, but I'd say they're pretty true to size overall!
I’m pretty used to doing some sort of session a couple of days out - definitely for some people 2 days would be way too close but others like keeping the legs moving before racing!
No. You most likely saw another shoe that has the same colorway nike has them for the next% and other shoes the same color. These have metal spikes on the bottom and a plastic plate only use these for track racing or fast work outs on the track
I now race in the Nike Dragonfly, and when I'm back at college in the US I'll race mostly in the Adidas Ambition. The victorys are also a great option, and so are Adidas Avantis!
Oh true - had heard previously it was a carbon plate and to be honest have no idea what the difference is - either way still a great addition to the shoe!
Depends on the spikes, if you use some sort of cross country spike with a rubber outer sole, then probably, or you could get a racing flat, those are just as nice. They're like road spikes without the spikes
Excited for this
Mate did you get them the second they got released online, cause they sold out super fast!
Nike Robina - a store down on the Gold Coast - got them back in stock! Definitely very hard to find!

no real minimum speed i don’t think, but no point jogging in them. spikes are made for running fast so just use them for your fast workouts
and races of course
@@adam_fogg I am also getting new spikes, should I run in them before I use them in a race?
One or two workouts to get a feel of them would be my recommendation
Great vid
Awesome video well done! 👍😃
Your dog 🐶 is so cute
Are the Dragonflys true to size or run a bit small?

@@adam_fogg Thank you so much, that is very helpful :-)

Mr. Charlie in the background like 😊
GREAT VIDEO
Hey dude ik this video is quite old but are these good for 800 meters as well because I’m in a 4x800 meter, 1 mile and 2 mile team
800m isn't their specialty but they'll still be amazing
Isnt two days a touch too close to the race for the type of sesh?
I’m pretty used to doing some sort of session a couple of days out - definitely for some people 2 days would be way too close but others like keeping the legs moving before racing!
500m at mile effort not exactly a shakeout as Adam can probably confirm...
sure.. and yet i keep reminding my guys not to get greedy before they race...
For an 800m, yes or nah?
I haven't run an 800 in them and they're supposedly for 1500+, but I still reckon they'd be decent for an 800!
What's a good racing flat (spikes and non-spikes) for mid distance runners (I run the 800m)?
Spike

Charlie is awesome
He said thank you!
oh Charlie!
WOOF
It actually doesn’t have a carbon fiber plate it has a Pebax plate
Can’t find the race!!!
Do they fit true to size??
Any response??
@@haskell3702 yes
I was like number 70. I'm sorry.
Disappointed
The dragonfly’s don’t have carbon fiber plates
Where is this track?
The uni of QLD!
Dumb question. Can you wear these as gym shoes? I’ve seen some people on IG using em so I’m wondering. Thanks in advance!
No. You most likely saw another shoe that has the same colorway nike has them for the next% and other shoes the same color. These have metal spikes on the bottom and a plastic plate only use these for track racing or fast work outs on the track
I don't think there is a carbon plate
Third
what spikes would you recommend for a 3000m and 1500m runner? They would be for racing and training, thanks
Nike zoom victory 3

@@adam_fogg is that because you have to wear Adidas when representing?
Can these be used as minimal shoes for 90 miles a week or are they quite agressive forcing up on the toes
Track use only
Mate think its a nylon plate instead of carbon!
Oh true - had heard previously it was a carbon plate and to be honest have no idea what the difference is - either way still a great addition to the shoe!
The FOGDOG Exclusive yeah man! The spikes look really sick. Maybe after breaking 3.40 can look at the air zoom vics too? ;)
Hi Adam, Can you run in the dragonfly on the track without the spikes? or will it ruin the shoes,
don’t do that
If i remove the spikes, could I wear those shoes to walk or run on asphalt?
You don’t wanna do that with these spikes
I think so, I run 120 miles a week in Nike XC Rival on roads which are more minimal than these even

But the real question...how was no socks?!
Don’t tell me you use socks when you wear spikes?😦
@@m00_garden78 I do wear socks! Although I must admit I've never tried without. I'll try it next time 😁
It was actually very good! Check out the race video - I didn't wear socks in my first 1500m back and I think I'm gonna keep going sockless!
