Thanks MGP for putting these marathons together. Its a big help for all of us that are home bound through this COVID-19 pandemic crisis..Stay healthy to all here and enjoy these gems.
Yes, the best was when he chased Gene Rayburn around the theater and cornered him on stage to kiss him. 💋 Hilarious spontaneity! McLean was such a nice man. Great father, too. He was so proud to show off his young daughter in the episode in the Father's Day Match Game collection. I'm so thankful for those who put together these Match Game marathons. Can't tell you how many good memories have been brought back from watching these episodes.
McLean was a great panellist on Match Game, he had a rather anarchic streak about him, and matched contestants well. I can see why they had him for the final syndicated series as a regular with Brett and Charles. Also provided fun moments when he appeared on Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour, including switching trousers during the course of an episode (and dropping them as Gene and Jon signed off, revealing his underpants!)
McLean was so cool and kind nice. Big man. 6 foot 3. I loved the incidents when he showed up shirtless and then another time he kissed Gene Rayburn when a contestant won the big money.
I Love the old Match Game Marathon But I Wish when they are in the middle of the Bonus round at the end of the show and they come back to a different show, so we dont get to see the Bonus!! 😃😃
I love whenever there was a $5000 match, McLean would chase Gene for a kiss 🤣 They were booking it when they ran into the audience!! Gene was out of breath, but had to continue 😄 I bet the new contestant was like “what the heck has been going on?” 😂😂
Episodes with McLean and Betty are my favorite. Just wondering - were the answers ever pre-written for certain parts of the game? Like for the super match round and the stars would pick one from their list?
@@jaberjaber131 I wondered that, too, and looked her up. Her fiancee, a police officer for the NY Port Authority, died in the 9/11 attacks and she never recovered from that. She started to drink heavily, developed cirrhosis and died in her sleep in 2005, soon after moving to Florida. That is quite a sad ending, I agree.

It's really a shame that he never found a good project that could harness that kind of wackiness that he had.
thank you so much for uploading and compiling these :D
At 5:48:25, McLean nails it, with Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone as your contestants!
I been looking for this one ☝️
The pride of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. He may have been born in the latter city, but he was anything but normal...
MR. M G P ....YES thanks for this durning this time we need to laugh 😆........
GR was the best MC for sure.

Love McLain
McLean should have been the permanent replacement for Richard.
I wish Stu did more episodes. He has great chemistry with Brett, Gene and Richard.
I miss Betty white!

Loretta Switt was super hot in 1973
30:59 Dianne looks like a lovely hippie flower child...
Is Brett drunk in most of the second half of these shows?
2:58:28 - “Ladies and gentlemen … SAUL!!!”
Debralee Scott had such a tragic end to her life, makes me sad whenever I see her
What happened to her?

@@krisc7135 that is sad. RIP Debralee . Thank you Kris C
I really like McLean but hearing him call Lonnie Anderson dumb was getting old .
You can tell she didn't like it either
By this time THE MATCH GAME had really gone to SHIT. The game show had really deteriorated into pure bad schtick.
