Thank you. That was a fun one. Ill have to do another. Actually Scott and I did another one together. He made a stained glass bowl of mashed potato design. I made a Pumpkin. Have you seen it yet? ruclips.net/video/pjSMT2WlNCQ/видео.html
yeah its so easy to make. It's quite thick you can thin out if necessary for writing etc. You could also use a little more extract and or lemon juice in it for more flavor.
Good to see your videos Lorelie! I hope you are doing great 💝. I am wishing to make this piping gel soon. Thank you so much for sharing, it's always nice to see your videos. Takecare, 💖

The decorating part is done in steps. So I would say the royal icing part took maybe 20 minutes or so and the filling in another 20 minutes? This doesn't include all the other parts of course. Glad it helped. There are other ways to do this as well. You can take a peek at the other cake decorators in this collab to get other ideas.

Thank you so much for showing us this beautiful stained glass cake. Looked just like stained glass. This is just another one of your superb ideas! Just curious, can I used black buttercream instead of royal icing for the outline please? Thank you
Thanks and that is a great question. Buttercream would be difficult unless you used a different method of coloring. You could color your cake first using gel and a little bit of clear extract to make a paint. Rosie uses the food coloring in her video. The link is below. And then you could pipe over the colors. But trying to fill in with the gel and having those soft buttercream lines probably would get real messy. I believe the black buttercream would end up in the gel. But I cold be wrong. The royal is so nice as it dries and hardens. If you do try it let us know how it worked out for you. Thanks xo
I've read on several sites that it's not a good idea to use royal icing on buttercream as it contains fat and the black colour would bleed on to the buttercream and also because buttercream cakes need to be refrigerated and the condensation that happens once they're out of the fridge also messes up the royal icing...what are your thoughts on this?
The royal icing holds up beautifully. It wasn't an issue at all. If it was a super humid day and the cake was sitting out on display then possibly that could happen yes.The gel held beautifully as well and congealed so that I peeled it right off the cake when dismantling. The cake was in the fridge for a few days.

Cakes with Lorelie Thank you Lorelei. Since Royal icing has egg whites in it, I will try using egg free royal icing. Thank you again 🙏🏽😊
@@naleniamarnath292 Oh I didn't know there was an egg free one. Interesting.

Hi, did you use royal icing or buttercream to outline?
Royal
@@CakesWithLorelie Thank you for the quick reply. Question will royal icing bleed onto a buttercream cake?
@@gmonc8912 As long as you have it set to the right consistency it will set up quickly. Never had that hyappen.
@@CakesWithLorelie Thank you Lorelie!
@@gmonc8912 You are so welcome!
Is the outline royal icing? And inside piping gel?
Yes it is royal icing xo And piping gel ruclips.net/video/lrtWHFzQhvQ/видео.html
