This never happened in real life. Safiye Sultan was send in The Old Palace after Ahmed ascended the throne because she wasnt anymore a mother of a prince/sultan (a mother of a male). She was now only a mother of a princess/sultana. And all mothers who had only daughters lived in The Old Palace. As for Halime and Mustafa they also lived in The Old Palace with Safiye Sultana to prevent troubles and conflicts between Handan Sultan and Halime Sultan. Because Handan needed to be careful all the time because Ahmed's life could of ended by poison or worse. Thats all.
ALSO she wasnt as cruel as they describe her in the series. She didnt cause troubles after her son died. I think they just tried to make Safiye like Ayse Hafsa Sultana in the series who was against Hurrem. Wich that was also a lie because Sultan Suleiman's mother was supportive of Hurrem. But Hurrem did have trouble and had to fight to stay strong with some of Suleiman's sisters,Ibrahim Pasha,Mahidevran and Mustafa. But the series just want more drama. As for Kosem she actually didnt had many enemies. Handan Sultana died very early so there wasnt a war for power.Only Mahfiruze which she actually died or was banished. Her enemy was Halime Sultana after Ahmed's death. Halime influenced and made Kosem a power seeker to advise Sultan Osman how to rule state affairs. After Osman died Halime became Valide herself and didnt need Kosem anymore. But of course her rule didnt last long because Kosem now knew how to manipulate and how state affairs work thanks to Halime's influence over her. So basically Halime created a monster with her own hands. Just like Kosem created another monster Turhan Sultan. History repeats itself. But Kosem's enemy was her thirst for power. This happened in real life.

Actually it's still widely debatable even among historians. Her reign suddenly ended when Ahmed I became sultan in Ottoman records. But people from other countries including the foreign ambassadors said her reign didn't end suddenly or so quickly for no reason. The truth was meant to be covered up from foreign enemies. Although she went to the Old Palace after Ahmed became sultan, her monthly pension was extremely high even more than his own mother and Kosem. This is evident she was active behind the throne and the Old Palace became very active suddenly with new costly renovation. After some weeks, she was not seen outside nor were her attendants for months. Some speculated if she was death. This sudden gap or invisible thing led historians and foreign powers to conclude to this exile plot. Some even speculated that maybe Ahmed have poisoned her but after Mustafa became Sultan she was suddenly seen in public again. Halime received the largest amount of money even more than Safiye and Kosem . After few months when he was disposed, Kosem received the highest including unrecorded amounts . When Osman became Sultan Safiye was still receiving high amount pension. Safiye was very much in power.

@@anikethchakraborty3238 what do you think, why Safiye Sultan wasnt seen in public for more than a decade after 1605, do you think she was
prisoned intentionally to stop her power to Court , till Sultan Osman ?

even what u said was incorrect, the show is just drama, kosem didn't kill any of her kids. Murad died of natural causes, and Ibrahim was killed by the janissaries becuz he was a madman tyrant who couldn't be a sultan. In real history he killed 280 innocent concubines, Ibrahim ordered that all two hundred eighty of his low-ranked concubines be put in sacks and thrown in the Bosporus, only one concubine was saved by a passing ship who later told the janissaries what he had done. Plus he r@pd the daughter of the grand mufti for days and then sent her back to her father. The people hated him for how tyrant he was. Kosem agreed to dethrone him but it was the janissaries and the religious leads that wanted him dead, rightfully so, the series literally villainized kosem and showed Ibrahim as innocent as possible. I wont be surprised if the writers and directors were all men. Also, everyone was power hungry becuz if u weren't powerful u wouldn't survive, the sultans literally used to kill their brothers and sons but becuz kosem and turhan were women, they are criticized for it while murad who killed his two brothers and was the reason why Ibrahim turned the way he was, and suleiman who killed his own son Mustafa out of jealousy, are celebrated becuz they are men. If anything the prince and the sultans were 10 times more power hungry than their female counterparts, in 99% of the time the women were power hungry for their children so their sons wont be killed if they don't ascend the throne while the men were power hungry for the mere luxuries and social status, even the fratricide law was upheld by these same men so if anyone wants to argue about whether it was survival in case of men as well, ur incorrect, they were egoistic who wanted to rule all by themselves and each one of them thought they would ascend the throne that's why majority of them didn't speak out on the fratricide law, it wasn't until reality hit them when their brothers beheaded them, that's why ahmed was the first to speak out, he saw his father and got scared, they didn't even value the lives of their brothers or sons and no one blames them for being selfish fathers. No one even blames them for being cru3l even tho they are Muslims, same Muslim men support and uplaud these brother and children killing "kings"

Not really. Look at what Kosem did to Handan 🙄 Kosem was very cruel to her, to blackmail her, and force her to tell Ahmed about Dervish, who had saved Ahmed's life as a child. Kosem did that just to hang onto power.

So true , the only almost innocent one was ahmed , and they always used his kindness against him to kill him , which changed him too and made him make harsh decesions to survive and not be seen as weak
