The names of the royal guards are a mix of Egyptian mythology and characters from a French children's book -- Montu, Shai, and Nereftum are Egyptian gods and Youpi, Pouf, and Pitou are a dog, a cat, and a panther in Caroline and Her Friends. Oh, and Dr. Blythe gets its name and design from the Blythe doll.
When it gets to this point of the arc it gets me excited every single time.
We might actually see 1 hour videos for almost every Chimera Ant arc episode...
I can see at some specific point pushing into 2 hrs

Ah yes my boy Shiapouf and his gorgeous theme finally showed up. I bet he will become his favorite out of all 3 RG

Shaiapouf is truly one of the most memorable characters in fictions for me, and for lots of fans. He is an impeccable creation, a mythological creature from Greek epic poems. Full of acute perceptiveness and delicacy of emotions.
But so is Youpi and Meruem. Pitou is more playful energy and mischief, and Pouf is just wicked in general. Youpi is, well, Youpi. After reading 20 times my love for them grow steadily. every scene with Pouf is a psychedelic experience.

I am sure Filmbuff will understand the depths of Shiapouf. He truly is so interesting in his fanatism (which is normal for an animalspecies like ants though)
I think he's favorite will be pitou
But yes, as a character pouf is definitely the more fleshed out and deep royal guard
It somehow feels so calming to find someone who appreciates and understands HxH this much. You even love Palm, which is the rarest thing ever. People usually hate her 🙂

Im definitely betting on Shaia being Film Buff's favourite Royal Guard by the end; each are a complex character, but Shaia is extra complicated on top of that 😂 or maybe im just projecting cos Shaia is for sure MY favourite of all the chimeras

One of my favorite scenes in the series is the closeup of Palms eye's quivering and her quick glances to the side.
Also loved the thought of Pouf being born first and what his reaction to Rammot would be like.
I thought it was interesting that the visual depiction of Kite’s anxiety from some episodes ago was Neferpitou’s En as revealed in this episode

the way how they show Kite's body seems to be censorship. In the manga we clearly see that right arm and head are separate from the rest

38:45 - it is so interesting that Pitou actually developed Doctor Blithe just so she can fight Kite again. And that someone we consider an enemy even develops a „healing“ ability at all

Palm has some kind of mental condition. Her emotions are very extreme, good or bad.
