Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm so glad you enjoyed my performance. I’ll keep sharing more music, and I hope you continue to follow along! ❤
I came after the short video which was great! I was thinking this piece as a bright love song, but as time goes on, I come to think more use of harmonics as an timely accent on the melody, because most of the beautiful theme melody is placed on the high position which hinders strings to sound transparently bright, at this time I was imaging some story like faded scene of happy times. Of course I think it is about romanticism. Enjoyed the feather like beginning of 2nd theme and the creek like flowing afterwards. Thank you for another vibrant performance, really enjoyed overall, and video really helped what is going on, on the music. 😂 so moving..
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and insights on my performance!!! I'm delighted to hear that the short video captured your attention and that you enjoyed the interpretation in my full version. It's fascinating to hear how the piece evolves for you over time, and your idea of incorporating harmonics to accentuate the melody is intriguing. Your perspective has provided a fresh lens through which to view this beloved composition. The second theme's delicate entry and the subsequent fluidity are aspects I also hold dear, aiming to convey the subtleties of the music's narrative. I'm grateful for your appreciation of the performance's vibrancy and the visual component of the video, which I hope brought an additional layer of connection to the piece. Your emotive response is the highest compliment for a musician, and I'm truly moved by your words. Thank you once again for sharing your experience; it's interactions like these that make the musical journey so rewarding!!!
Elgar wrote this as a wedding present for his wife . If he could have heard your exquisitely beautiful performance of this , he would have wanted you to play it for her .
Of course, I listened to the entire piece. It's a beautiful musical thought, expressed beautifully. My curiousity makes me wonder how his beloved first heard it. Wagner wrote his Siegfried Idyll with a similar inspiration. In that case, his wife was awakened by a group of invited musicians. There are so many examples of lovesick musicians writing pretty tunes: Für Elise (who probably wasn't 'Elise'), the elusive 'Fille aux cheveux de lin', the beautiful 'flying scene' in Superman, Delila's beautiful 'mon coeur s'ouvre...), Lancelot's 'If ever I would leave you', or even Wotan's poignant 'Farewell' to his beloved, misbehaving daughter, Brunhilde, among many others. Your gracefulness and smooth legato style certainly convey the thought. Isn't that ending suberb? A gentle upwelling, almost a light, tender kiss.
Thank you so much for listening full video and your thoughtful comments!!! It's truly fascinating to ponder how Elgar's "Salut d'Amour" might have been received by his beloved for the first time. The personal anecdotes and historical contexts behind such compositions often add a layer of intimacy and depth to the music that transcends time. Indeed, the tradition of composing music as an ode to love is a rich tapestry woven through the history of music, with each piece carrying its own story and emotional resonance. Indeed, music has this unique ability to capture the essence of love, as seen in the works of Wagner and the many other composers you've mentioned. I'm honored that you feel my performance conveyed the grace and emotion intended by Elgar. The ending, as you described, is designed to leave the listener with a sense of tender closure, much like the soft conclusion of a cherished moment. Music, in its most profound form, is a dialogue between composer, performer, and listener, and it's a privilege to be part of that conversation. Thank you again for sharing your insights and for joining me in this musical journey!!!
