Sometimes, there are pieces in classical music that always leave the listener in complete tears. This is one such piece full of lyricism and emotions. I love this piece! Thank you so much for uploading a wonderful recording of a masterpiece in the rich ocean of classical music!
Oh my... sublime. This is the best interpretation I have heard of this piece! Daniel Hope is one of the best violinist I've ever heard. The vibrato, the perfect rubato , sensitively, tone and the chamber group, it's all perfect!
There are pieces of music so lyrical and evocative that they remain with you throughout the day (heard this a.m. on Radio Swiss Classic) ... and become anchored in cherished memory - and also one's heart - so that you yearn to hear the piece once more to be touched by its sheer beauty. Elgar's "Salut d'amour" is one of those pieces for me. Think of someone you love when listening to it.
This is the best version - today I listened to several but this rendition is by far superior to the others. The violin is sweet and it sings, you can hear beauty, love, sadness and tears, Daniel Hope plays with emotion. I listen spellbound. Thank you.
I'm late to the show. I had been looking for a specific version of this piece and stumbled upon this; how lovely, and how pure. Thank you for bringing tears to my eyes with one of my favorite classical pieces, which I played during my wedding ceremony.
Lovely playing and expression and rubato.Perfect tempo.Just great. A simple piece in a way but so much love has gone into the writing by Elgar to his fiancee, conveyed so well by Daniel and the orchestra.
My favorite Elgar-Salut D'amor Daniel Hope played by a really talented violinist, and the sound was amazing. I was very happy while listening to it. Thank you~
The sound of violin has such power to trigger emotions in the heart, like if it resonates within it. You can tell how moved Daniel is when he plays the high notes.
If this peice is played correctly, there's a word that should easily describe it, though it's not often used. It's a word that shows an understanding of the passion the composer was feeling when it was written, and proves the performer understands that feeling and wishes to share it with the audience. It's a word that should describe what the audience hears and feels as the music leaves the performer's instrument. If you can't relate to this word, then you don't understand the piece. It's a word that can be used to describe this performance, this interpretation. That word is.....erotic.
Just...Whoaw! I work on that so I should listening this, but it's just so...emotional! It's not fast like the others and I love that! Thank you very much for this performance!
Indeed, is not that fast as the other versions, mainly the cello's ones. Daniel's rendition gives you time to enjoy truly every single detail. This is one of the most enjoyable versions in RUclips. I would like to recommend for you to listen to Tasmin Little's emotional version. I'm not comparing it with this here, they are both very truthful in their performance. Warm greetings from Miami. 🌞🦋
The music instrument I loved the most was violin but...since someday, the sound of violin had felt like an excessively sensitive person for me. Before Hope, I usually enjoyed guitar or oboe music. After watching/ listening to Daniel Hope's performance, I came to love violin music again or even more than before :)
Daniel hope... ...I do and won't let go of bringing 'em down, so that the world looses his blackened face, it got, for so long a time now... Le p'tit Daniel
I made a poem that suits the piece. It can be sung too. Just like the Bach's Ave Maria... Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art- Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night And watching, with eternal lids apart, Like nature’s patient, sleepless Eremite (2x) The moving waters at their priestlike task Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores, Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask of snow Upon the mountains and the moors- No-yet still stedfast, still unchangeable, Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast, To feel for ever its soft fall and swell, Awake for ever in a sweet unrest, Wild nights! Wild nights! Were I with thee, Wild nights should be Our luxury! Futile the winds To a heart in port, Our love is old and sure, not new and frantic. You know I’m yours and I know you are mine.
Beautiful - I love the piano, exquisite playing. What a beautiful violin. That is how it should be.
Glad you like it!
¡¡¡ Bellísima melodía son magistrales!!!❤❤❤
Absolutely beautiful playing by everyone. I love the beautiful piano playing.
Daniel hopes performance here is the no1 salut damour of all time

Beautiful music played by a man called Hope; what could be more divine?

Thank you for your comment! I am taking a music class, and learning about instruments and different kinds of music and your comment helped me so much!

I completely agree!
Timeless music, this is one of the songs which should be played at my funeral.
Rather morbid, don't you think? Since this was originally wrote for the occasion of an engagement.
It makes me so sad

My mom loved this so much. I'm tearful every time i hear it, but Daniel, this really is sublime. Thankyou.
Always feels like a sad farewell, rather than a hello. Beautiful though
This has to be my new favorite interpretation of this piece❤
It's beyond my imagination, and it's so unreal! Bravo!!!
Genau . Das ist ein Steinway !
I love this rendition.
Eine der besten Interpretationen dieses Stücks. Auch dank Daniel Hope. Wunderschön.
i love how they all are in casual clothes, gives the music more life
What a load of total and utter codswallop - talk about reading too much into something!
Elgar wrote this piece for his fiancee
I’m no classical music fan, but this is indeed a beautiful work. I don’t think anyone could honestly say it doesn’t evoke any emotion in them at all.
Casual = bowing to the under classes
Mein Lieblings-Video!!!!!!! Wundervoller Klang...
great tonal color, light and shade.. beautiful

Beautiful!. A really intimate interpretation of Elgar's music, all too often overlooked!
When you can imagine and hear what both composer and musician are trying to convey it is truly beautiful. This was absolutely wonderful.
some people scribbling here have no imagination

Best version I could find thank you so much

It is a Guerneri del Gesu violin !
Most beautiful version of this music
the best performance I've ever listened to...superb
Very very beautiful interpretation, what a talent!
Bellissima esecuzione 🌹😘
I feel very honoured to listen to this majestic peice of music. thank you.
Beautiful rendition of this very lovely piece of music. Perfect tempo...it soars. Chose for my mother's funeral....the Perlman one seems too fast.
Beautiful indeed, you can tell it is from the heart, much better than many other versions....
