Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
Austin (the lead in this one) is of course unreal, but I am also blown away by Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, and his amazing drums - the realistic quality and the perfect artistry.
What's cool is that they recorded this at their separate home's in different states hence the monitors because of the lockdown they even have a album called the sounds of the lockdown
Actually Michael Bolton's version is a cover too. The song was written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright and first recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966. This recording became number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B singles charts. Michael Bolton, country singer John Wesley Ryles and Bette Midler all recorded a version of this song. You should react to Home Free's The Butts Remix... once you are done with the patreon suggestions.
I never heard Michael Bolton do this song, but loved Percy Sledge and the way he did this beautiful song. I think he would be proud of the way Home Free did it. This was a fantastic cover! Thank you for your reaction.
That's a first time I'm hearing Homefree but I'm loving it. The lead singer has amazing voice and the harmony is incredible. It's hard to make a good cover of the song that well known and they did a fantastic job.🎵🎶🎤👏 Enjoyed your reaction (as well as the singing in the corner) very much.😁👍🎶🇵🇱
Home Free is remarkable with their presentations whether covers or originals. They do not put out crap. Not many artists would take on singing a capella. This group excels doing this a capella all the time. ❣
Austin (lead here) and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was during the pandemic so I thought the use of tv’s was clever. Michael Bolton’s version was also a cover of the Percy Sledge song. Loved HF’s version. Good reaction!
Austin did a terrific job with this amazing song from Percy Sledge. The guys in the background are great also. With all of them in their own homes it was amazing. Pandemic is what caused the guys to find a way for people to still have their music 2 times a month. They are so good. Thank you for reacting to a great song.
The great thing about HF, when they do a cover, They make it their own so you REMEMBER it...All the members of HF are talented beyond belief, there is no lead singer, so they all get to shine. I'm looking forward to more reactions. Percy Sledge is smiling down on them!
When a man loves a woman...Homefree masterpiece...well one of them . After Majestica and Sabaton home free is my number 3. I know I am not a patreon but I asked for that too. Austin, who is the main singer in this is amazing. He has 5 octaves... ( Tommy has almost 4) that is insane. And even more insane...Tim Foust, the bass has also 5 octaves. He just starts lower. Their harmonies are absolutely amazing. There is lot more where that comes from. But you have to stay in the right order. Next try out their cover of brothers in Arms of Dire Straits and then Mayday , cover from Cam. Then you can figure out what they can do.
Yes, Austin Brown nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say it was better. But this one from Home Free certainly is.
Decades ago my first time hearing this song was the original artist Percy Sledge. It has always been my favorite, because it was my first hearing and therefore my first love. Michael Bolton's version was in line for the first cover of this, and it was unique enough of a take on Percy's so it went into the line up. Many people have covered this piece, but now there a 3 in the line up of outstanding renditions with yet another cover that does justice to Percy's original. I think it would have to be something stirring enough to touch my soul again like these 3 have done. A Beautiful song plus talent on loan from god is what it would take to be consider entry into this hall of fame!
I never heard the Michael Bolton version although watching reactors, I have heard that he did. I have yet to listen to his version as I think this version from Home Free did Percy Sledge great justice. I am sure he would be proud of them too. Thank you for your reaction, glad you enjoyed it.
I love watching the gobsmacked look on people’s faces when Austin hits that first note! Austin nailed this and made it his own. I grew up on the Percy Sledge version, vividly remember when Michael Bolton’s version came out (and loved it) … and this blew Bolton’s away, IMHO. Didn’t hurt that Austin’s girlfriend was standing next to the cameraman….
Ahhh...to be loved like that! This version blew this song out of the park! What stunning voices! Enjoyed the Michael Bolton cameo 😂🤣 Love this patreon wheel..everyday a surprise! Love to see that gorgeous smile of yours..and more vocal performances please Would like to see and hear yourself and Tommy sing together. How 'bout THAT! Take care bello. Ciao!🤗🖐
Heheh Thank you Eleonora! This was great stuff indeed! Happy you like the wheel! Yeah doing a duet with Tommy would be FREDONCULAS! Take care! Ciao bella ❤️🙏🏻😁
Yeah Michael Bolton he was a great singer back in the day, beautiful voice & seemed like a lovely man👍David you certainly are playing some different type of music...I think it's great & fun, as there is great musicians old & new... Nice one David 💙☮️🤙
Time for more Home Free. Over 200 videos; musically, from the ridiculous to the sublime, their vocals never suffer. Wait before you watch Mayday until you’ve watched some of their videos, otherwise you’ll miss the Home Free (HF) experience of the opening of the song. I will subscribe for your HF reactions
Home Free again did a great job!! Person you swear to the original artist would be proud! Can’t wait to hear your next home free reaction! Have you listened to their version of end of the road? You won’t be disappointed
This was done during lockdown and social distancing, everyone but Austin doing their parts on their own. And this not a Michael Bolton but a Percy Sledge cover
Love the reaction ! I actually like this rendition BETTER than Michael Bolton's. You should check out / react to some other Home Free covers: Brothers in Arms; American Pie; Helplessly Hoping; Crazy; End of the Road. And I really recommend a couple of 'Fun' tracks: Butts Medley; Champaign Taste (on a Beer Budget)
Yup. Wow pretty much covers it. I've never liked this song, neither Percy Sledge nor Michael Bolton. Still don't like the song. But the guys killed it. Awesome backing harmonies. Perfect percussion. And, of course, Austin soaring up into the stratosphere like it's nothing. Great reaction. I couldn't help but laugh, knowing what was still coming. More Home Free on the way, I hope.
Welcome to the rabbit hole! Home Free never disappoints. Check out their cover of The Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music". Anything you chose will be awesome. #homefries
I always loved the late Percy Sledge's original (not so much Michael Bolton's - I thought it rather over-wrought). I love Home Free's version & I think Mr. Sledge would have approved. You really need to dive down the Home Free rabbit hole - each of the band's members is lavishly talented. By the way, two of them (including the singer of this one) are song writers. Home Free has original songs as well as covers and then are loads of live videos on their channel and on the channels of the individuals. I just subscribed to your channel - love from Canada.
You, me, they and even Bolton .... who growled through it ... and NOT EVEN CLOSE to the real deal = Percy Sledge .... and Black artist with High Tenor creds .... but this is OFF THE HOOK ! GBjj
I can honestly say Homefree (with Austin's lead vocals) has kicked this song up a notch.....or 2 ! In my opinion this is better than Michael Bolton's !
Where as Michael Bolton did a good job with the song, he is not the original singer that goes to Percy Sledge in 1966. The song was written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright.
I never really liked Michael Bolton, and do not much like this song either, but I can see how other people like his music a lot and why. This group did a very good job with the cover.
Michael Bolton? Yeah, no. Not even close. This was Percy Sledge's hit. His version was full of angst. Austin's rendition is full of love - he was singing to his girlfriend who was in the studio just off camera. Those looks are real. Austin owns this now. No one else could take Percy's song and make it even better.
It would be a shame not to balance that song with the female counterpart. Try Helene Fischer doing "The Power of Love". ruclips.net/video/UrZgl1KYtvg/видео.html
Kills ms that people associate this song to Michael Bolton. This is a Percy Sledge song, and Home Free did a wonderful job covering. But Michael Bolton??? Ugh...
Welcome to the Home Free a capella rabbit-hole! You'll have your mind blown with all of their 200+ videos out there. They NEVER disappoint.
😁😁

Also Austin's woman is on the camera, you can really tell when he looks that way.
Austin (the lead in this one) is of course unreal, but I am also blown away by Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, and his amazing drums - the realistic quality and the perfect artistry.
They are both great 😁😁
The crazy left-to-right riffle before the key change is unreal !
What's cool is that they recorded this at their separate home's in different states hence the monitors because of the lockdown they even have a album called the sounds of the lockdown
Never heard of homefree but love singing and love hear more beautiful voices.
you should listen to more Home Free.
You can't go wrong with any of Home Free's music.
Actually Michael Bolton's version is a cover too. The song was written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright and first recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966. Thank you!
HOME FREE WILL DO THAT TO YOU EVERY TIME
Wow! I loved your reaction to this. I hope you can check out more Home Free.
Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I loved this version sung by Austin Brown of Home Free. His voice is amazing and he doesn't have to strain to hit those notes.
That's a first time I'm hearing Homefree but I'm loving it. The lead singer has amazing voice and the harmony is incredible. It's hard to make a good cover of the song that well known and they did a fantastic job.🎵🎶🎤👏
Enjoyed your reaction (as well as the singing in the corner) very much.😁👍🎶🇵🇱
Glad you enjoyed it Elzbieta 😁😁😁😁
Austin killed this! 😍🔥😍
I hope there are a lot more Home Free songs on your wheel!
Indeed there is 😁
Home Free is remarkable with their presentations whether covers or originals.
Very smart to do it like this! Thank you 🙏🏻😁
Definitely talent there. It does blow the mind what all voices can do. Enjoyed your reaction as much as the song which was awesome.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻😊
So many Home Free songs I can listen to endlessly and never tire of them or be amazed by them. Thanks for your great reaction!
Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Austin killed this. The background harmonies are so awesome! Percy sledge did this originally, he would be so very proud! Love your reaction!
Great stuff 😁 Thank you! 🙏🏻
Percy Sledge sang this 1st in 1966
Austin did a terrific job with this amazing song from Percy Sledge. The guys in the background are great also. With all of them in their own homes it was amazing. Pandemic is what caused the guys to find a way for people to still have their music 2 times a month. They are so good. Thank you for reacting to a great song.
😁
Really love love this version 😍
absolutely magical to hear songs and use the voices as instruments.
Thanks David 🥰
Its amazing 😁😁😁 Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Ja denna var grym 😁😁😁😁 Tack! ❤️🙏🏻
Good evening. That song is so beautiful. 🙂🙂
Gosh this guy has an phenomenal voice 😍🤘👍 thanks for your reaction 😍🤗
Incredible! Thank you. 🙏🏻😁
Aren’t you happy with that spinning wheel outcome? Love what Home Free does to a song.
Indeed I am!
If you are an artist or group out there, you really don't want Home Free to cover your song. They simply steal it from you.
🤣💯
😅😅😅
@@GivenToe As many before me have said, Home Free doesn't do covers...they do upgrades.
The high notes in the runs after the final "when a man loves a woman" are an A5 and B5 -sung flawlessly.
Epic 😁
I've seen multiple reactors say, "There's that falsetto!" and I want to scream at my screen! Hah That's NOT falsetto!! 😳🤯
@@leslieoneal4464 Damn right - it's a nuclear counter-tenor !

Wait till you react to them singing Boyz to Men - End of the Road! Rob murders it and takes you to church!! 😁
Cool 😁

Austin's lovely lady was in the studio and Austin had her stand next to the camera. So he was inspired during this song.
Epic 😀
Austin can reach D6, so he is still in his comfort zone when most tenors are struggling at the top of their range.
Decades ago my first time hearing this song was the original artist Percy Sledge. It has always been my favorite, because it was my first hearing and therefore my first love. Wow...is right! That was insanely beautiful ❤..they killed it!!!
Ahhh...to be loved like that! This version blew this song out of the park! What stunning voices!
Enjoyed the Michael Bolton cameo 😂🤣

It’s one of my total favorites of all time….Austin just kills it….pure Eargasm 😵💫❤️🔥🎶🎵‼️
My favorite Home Free song. Austin pulled out all the stops.
ya that was pretty good !!!

I have not, thanks for the tip 🙏🏻😁
That’s Percy Sledge…my auto correct is ridiculous!
As his girlfriend (who was in the studio with him), Amberly, said, "He sang his a$$ off!" 😉🎶❤ Austin flat-out OWNS this song now!
Epic 😁❤️
They did phenomenal with this!! I LOVE Michael Bolton’s version too🥰♥️I’ve seen him in concert with my sisters like 14 or 15 times 😍🎶
😁😁😁
Absolutely love your reaction
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Another reactor stated "they own it" now. I believe they own this song now....and it's acapella!
Beat boxer drumming - Chris - also excellent on this track!
Have to call this Home Free ft. Austin Brown. He/they totally blew previous versions out of the water.
Percy Sledge Cover.
One of my absolute favorites and your reaction was amazing. Subbing for sure!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Remember that Bolton's version was a cover of the Percey Sledge original. This blows Bolton away and even tops Sledge
Squealing and screeching at the same time
HOME FRIES AND HOG FAMILY go together like 2 peas in a pod 🤣🔥🤣🔥🤣 HOG FAMILY 4 LIFE 🎯😎
PERCY SLEDGE IS THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR AND SINGER OF THIS SONG
This was done during lockdown and social distancing, everyone but Austin doing their parts on their own. And this not a Michael Bolton but a Percy Sledge cover
This is how you give respect to Mr. Austin Brown.
😁

Hey you hit that note?! Whoa. You’re on your way.
😎😁
PRICELESS REACTION🤣
Ja jäklar va bra dom är! En riktigt bra cover på en cover😉 Originalet med Percy Sledge från 1966 är inte så tokig heller! Tack för den David🙏🏻
Måste höra den! Tack Lena! 😁😁😁🙏🏻
Yup. Wow pretty much covers it. I've never liked this song, neither Percy Sledge nor Michael Bolton. Still don't like the song. But the guys killed it. Awesome backing harmonies. Perfect percussion. I always liked the original by Percy Sledge, but Home Free just made their version my favorite
Welcome to the rabbit hole! Home Free never disappoints. Check out their cover of The Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music". Anything you chose will be awesome. #homefries
Du bara måste göra fler Home Free reactions! De har så många bra låtar, både covers och original.

Yep Austin does great in this song. Rob shines in Boys to Men cover End of the road. Sometime in 2023😅
Subscribed for more Home Free.
Thank you, there will be more 😊🙏🏻
This is not a cover of Michael Bolton, it's a cover of the original Percy Sledge.
Knocks your socks right
Listen to Adam Rupp in his drum solo . Listen to Tim fousts will you still love me tomorrow/stay
This was a quarantine video!
Remember he is a bassist
You, me, they and even Bolton .... who growled through it ... and NOT EVEN CLOSE to the real deal = Percy Sledge .... and Black artist with High Tenor creds .... but this is OFF THE HOOK ! GBjj
I can honestly say Homefree (with Austin's lead vocals) has kicked this song up a notch.....or 2 ! In my opinion this is better than Michael Bolton's !
Are you going to do more Home Free soon ?
More Homefree is coming 👍🏻
Love anything home free does.you would like the butt remix
If you loved this one, Austin and one of the guys do an operatic aria, Nessen Dorme. Take a listen. Trust me. You’re welcome (lol)
Ah just det! Tack Helene!! Heheh ja det har du rätt i 😁😁 Tack så mycket 🙏🏻
Percy Sledge owned this song until Austin, no disrespect to Michael Bolton. Home Free killed this cover. Welcome to Home Fries!
Hello again
Hello there!
Where as Michael Bolton did a good job with the song, he is not the original singer that goes to Percy Sledge in 1966. The song was written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright.
You are correct 😁
Michael Bolton actually was a cover. Percy Sledge was the original. Home Free outshines both of them in my opinion 🙂
Thank you 😊
I never really liked Michael Bolton, and do not much like this song either, but I can see how other people like his music a lot and why. This group did a very good job with the cover.
They did indeed 😊

forgot how to talk did ya? 🤣
😂😂😅
Kills ms that people associate this song to Michael Bolton. This is a Percy Sledge song, and Home Free did a wonderful job covering. But Michael Bolton??? Ugh...
We all have different taste, its the way it is, and we should all respect each others differences 🙏🏻😊
