Thats some great tips! I only got into painting last year, and my partner found his old collection of warhammer, some of the models are metal and it looked intimidating so i have just collected his stuff, sorted it and put it away in the very nice boxes they where in before, i am thinking its a good project between projects hehe!
My uncle used to paint old school lead soldiers. I have no idea what paints he used, but they were all in an old cigar box, they had been bounced around, and even after 60 years the paint hasn’t chipped or flaked. I really wish I knew what he used
I promised my wife that i would not buy any more plastic minis until i get all the ones i own now painted. Lololololol. I didn’t say anything about not buying metal models. Lolololololol
I love metal! and still really prefer it over other materials.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Don't be intimidated by them, the old minis can be great fun to paint.

I'd hazard a guess at enamel paint, that was the go-to for lead figures many years ago and can be extraordinarily tough in some cases.
