Years later, the wordsmithing in this song still brings tears to my eyes. My first tatoo I ever get will be line about 'times quill is quick to spill it's ink apon a new page'.
You say that it will be your first tattoo. I am thinking about putting it on my gravestone. edit: Or Tombstone, as some call it. It would have an aeffect, that's for sure.
Yeah, he may not be the one making the visuals, but his editing skills are amazing. His music and arrangement of the clips definitely transforms the game's cutscenes into something else entirely. I don't know if it's just him or if he has a team behind him, but they deserve credit for every aspect of the production. Can't imagine how much time it took to pull off.
6:37 this is my favourite line. It shows how easy it is to look back and villainize people for their decisions, even when at the time of the decision its effect weren't clear and the people (might have) just tried to make the best decisions. It is so easy to villainize people, but we are all humans, we all make mistakes and choices that turn out worse then planed and I doubt that many people would actually make better decisions when they would have to make them in the moment.
This song is a masterpiece. It feels so good seeing someone appreciate and understand it man you don’t understand. This was probably my favorite reaction I’ve seen in a while.
@@Epicesify Well for one thing it's not even remotely rap. It's just cool for people who are already into Minecraft. It's a terrible example of his ability to write and spit bars. He has way more better examples. My concern is y'all telling rap reactors to react to that song will make them drop him to the bottom of their list after without ever getting to some of his monster raps like GTA5 or Watch Dogs. Just because you like Minecraft. Note, I like Minecraft (and that song) too, but it is honestly not a good example of his rapping ability.
So glad Dan Bull is getting more recognition, he is seriously a lyrical genius! You should check out more of his work, like he did a few songs for the game The Crew and The Crew 2 that uses homophones instead of rhymes, and he did one for Fallout 4 that using all words that start with the same letter for sections. Like I'm serious when I say he's a genius, you will not regret continuing to go through his content.
"The less time to see their eyes and feel sympathetic." That's so true. Back then when it was hand-to-hand or at least melee weapons you'd have to at least look at the person and deal with their tears/emotions. Then you get the bow where sometimes it's close-range but most times you're just firing into the air towards a crowd. Now? "Ah, just send a drone." Don't even need to drop a thought of anyone or anything in the vicinity.
One of the most underrated songs on youtube. The pictures it paints throughout is insane Some of my favourite lines are "Time's quill is quick to spill its ink onto a new page" "Nations arise, As old civilisations crumble to dust" Great vid as always doc
Ohhh how I have waited for you to stumble across dan bull he is a very underrated rapper that raps about video games and has lyrical intellect and punctual fluidity that leaves me in awe... Get surgical rich!
Love your breakdown of the bar about weapon advancement. I've seen a couple of other reaction to this song and they just glossed over the flow rather than reacting to what is really portrayed in those bars
4:35 thats exactly why before you start a war you will dehumanize the opponents. Or blame something so outragous onto them that you HAVE to win against them.
I have to disagree with your use of the word "psychopaths". I'm a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I joined the US Army, not out of patriotism, but, because I felt obligated. I would never take back one second of my part in that. It made me a better person. But, I digress. In my opinion, the feeling of obligation is far more common thru out history than the psychopathic events that we learn thru history/propaganda. When one believes that they HAVE to do something because it's what is NEEDED. That's dangerous. The ones that have taken lives, and live with the fact that THEY committed the act when it goes against their nature, AS HUMANS, are scarred and scared. PTSD. But, as I type this, maybe the feeling of obligation IS psychopathic!? I don't know. Great video! Great reaction! Thank you! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍✌🙏 To all of of our soldiers, our teachers, our mentors, our friends, both acknowledged and unheard of, thank you for your strength and courage to do what is not only best, but, what's right. 🥰😇
The call of duty in the name of nationalism or any other form of faith can be stronger than the feeling of sympathy. But sometimes, it just haunts you back later on. Whether its the feeling of guilt or sympathy that accumulated over time. Its not rare for returning soldiers to get PTSD afterwards...
Respect, Thank you for your service! I believe what he meant in the video was that psychopaths are the ones who take life without feeling anything. But that most of us people even those as you mentioned that do it out of a sense of obligation feel some sympathy towards the enemy and it's in our nature not to take life. But those who do it out of a sense of obligation push through that due to their sense of duty, while psychopaths don't have to push through anything since they have no sympathy towards others.
So his main thing is he's trying to do a rap for every video game. This is the one from Civilization 5. The video is made from all of his cutscenes. The course of the rap follows the playable tech tree (which follows our history). I highly recommend you react to his GTA5 video. It's amazing.
Consider checking out his, and I'm quoting the title here, FROSTPUNK RAP BATTLE - Faith and Order | Dan Bull vs the Stupendium Also check out Stupendium's channel if you like him in that video.
Nice! I recommended this to you months ago! Glad to see you get around to it. I knew you would enjoy it! I've been bugging all my favorite reactors to do this one.
The visuals are a video game by the same name it wis the game he was rapping aboot that's his whole hing he raps aboot games GTA 5 and this are ma favourites
His overwatch rap is awesome! He does lots of raps based off video games. He did a cool video with boyinaband where they only used scriptures from the bible in a horrorcore rap.
I'd suggest his the crew epic rap. It's really interesting and perhaps one of the most unique raps ever. I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on it.
dan bull is very skilled and this is probably his single greatest work. he has others with better flow or alterations etc etc but this one just hits that sweet spot of transcending it's normal medium.
Dude, your response was basically mine when he posted this. It's unbelievable that it's a videogame rap. Probably the best rap he's done... Unrelenting
Why don't I like reaction youtubers. >Reacts to a rap created for the Civilization series. >"This is really like for real a civilization rap" Seriously?
The visuals are from the intro cutscenes from the Civilisation games. Dan matched them masterfully to the lyrics.
Yes Sir. Love that game.
You know what? That means we need to get the Doc on some Civilization.
Yup, typically uses in game footage in one form or another and runs with it for the song.
And the final space scene is actually the launch of an Jupiter V rocket.
Years later, the wordsmithing in this song still brings tears to my eyes. My first tatoo I ever get will be line about 'times quill is quick to spill it's ink apon a new page'.
Rappers who make music get left in the dirt for mumble rappers
@@user-cj3ik9qq6m the better the rapper the deeper the dirt :(
I was starstruck by that quote. The lyricism in this rap is... no words to describe it.
You say that it will be your first tattoo.
I am thinking about putting it on my gravestone.
edit: Or Tombstone, as some call it.
It would have an aeffect, that's for sure.
Definitively my favorite line on this masterpiece.
Great rap but the visuals aren’t his. But he made the rap fit them perfectly.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're from Civilization V
@Adrian it is not
Dan Bull is a legend, that whole rap is awesome and that beat is disgustingly good.

You know Dan Bull as Winston Churchill and Jack the Ripper from ERB. He makes great content.
Maybe also check out his Minecraft skeleton song.

His Minecraft Enderman rap too

The line "times quill is quick to spill it's ink onto a new page, also gives a hint to the next age.
In my opinion one of the most underrated thing in the whole internet.

The rap is based off the games named Civilization.
And then also actual civilization.

The Crew, Pay Day 2, Ghosts Recon, Far Cry Primal, GTA V, Dark Souls 3...there's a lot of good ones by him my dude.

Yooo I love this dude Dan Bull he has more songs that are just as fire 🔥. Can we see more reactions of his stuff?
Dan Bull - Primal

Too few reactions to Primal, the Crew and Crew 2 are great as well.
Primal is ridiculous. I don't know how he does it
I love his far cry primal rap. Ridiculous.

Not many catch the, "The better the tech is, the lesser effort to wreck it, the less time to see their eyes and feel sympathetic"
Without the visuals, you get stinkface and resiste the effort to pause... it hits that much harder with the visuals. Bravo Dan.
my favourite line is easily "Nature's author faced examination never faced before"
