Achara was so damn right. i find it really irritating when some guys blame girls for their distraction in studies and career. Like bro if your career was that important to you then why did you let that happen. You are the reason for your failure and you cannot blame it on others. It's just an excuse to not accept your own faults.

I feel the same. I had a bf who would demand to meet up even when i had important things todo,things which got delayed made me stay up at night and finish. My entrance exams etc. In the end i had to leave him. Now, in this i am partly to blame because i let myself go there. So, jaby is just hurt somehow i feel and that's why he is so overwhelmed by that. I mean look at his comment to u.he doesn't know what you have gone through but he still mad a snark remark. maybe he got over emotional n defensive because of personal baggage somewhere. But in all if you love yourself ,you should know what is harming you. You are to blame as well if as an adult you don't understand what's right for you.
Most men think it's ONLY the men who face this ,that their partner is distracting him or that they are rejected. BUT truth is irrespective of gender people face this. Many guys demand a lot of things in relationships. I have two experiences and have known my girl friends to have em too. So, the shoe can be on either foot 🦶 in the end. I am not sure of men in USA or women but from where i have been and where i am living now ,many people have faced this in my observation irrespective of men or women. Dating and relationships are tougher in our lifestyles and society. So as an adult emotional maturity is absolutely necessary. Being overtly dramatic or defensive is just a sign of that maturity lacking. Cheers

it's one of the very few times when I am on Jaby's side and not on achara's. On a day to day basis also people compromise in relations. Sometimes it could be toxic for them while other time it is the tough option you have to select from. I think it was in movie thhappad, where the mother says that she wanted to sing but the circumstances were different and she couldn't. And we cannot straight up blame her for not pursuing her dreams, in the same way others be it a man/woman compromise on their dreams for a better relationship. And the relationship could be any, not just a romantic one, people compromise on their dreams for their kids, siblings, parents etc. And in those situations no is to be blamed.

I think I'm with Jaby here. It's not just a guy problem, it's a problem for the ladies too, we tend to prioritise the people we claim to love. Being in a relationship is a team work, you won't pretend everything is fine and go to work if your home is falling apart. Problem is when the person you're working so hard for is not worth it, that they wouldn't reciprocate the same and you feel like you would have been better off not wasting your time as well.

Actually i do feel the same.. I too was in this relationship where I was too devoted that I lost myself.. It was only after v broke up I was back to being myself.. I think he lost himself too.. We both changed but in a negative way.. Becoming someone v both hate in general.. This experience has made me more sympathetic towards all those people going far and beyond nd doing stupid stuffs.. there's inherent bias in everyone's opinion, even mine, for instance when Jaby used the word bitches, Achara said don't call them bitches, but she was completely fine when he said he's calling both men and women bitches. So from her POV it's not the word that's wrong, it's when you only use it for women, but it would be fine if he was calling a dude, a bitch. So as long as men are sharing the cussing it's fine. Just food for thought, nice commentary. And always open to differing POVs.
