Great report, Jack! Max has competition. Nice writing, Alex! I like the humor throughout. Great photography, too. And editing. And augmented shots. Nicely done!
From what I understand looking at the NSF Forms that one appears to be for Flight 8's Starlink terminals which maybe they just a carrying on from earlier flights. However there is another FCC Permit that has the purpose (filed Jan 27 and 30): "Launch vehicle communications for test Starship Test Flight 8 mission launching from Starbase, TX." with the start date 02/24/2025.
11:57 I think the issue with displaying them long term is that they need to stay pressurized to stay strong. Notice all the tanks and lines surrounding them? Maybe they could reinforce from within since weight doesn’t matter on display?
I wonder if it would be possible for Space X to use something like Falcon 9's strongback positioned on the opposite side of the flame trench for both the booster and ships QD systems?
Why don't they connect new Megabays directly to the factory? The factory should have steps first for smaller parts and then higher and higher up to the Megabay height as a final step.
The top arms of the mechazilla carriage look under engineered compared to the catch arms themselves. Those top carriage arms have to hold the impact force of landing. Are don’t look strong enough compared to the actual catch arms.
to be fair spacex always intended some sort of deluge, it just was going to take too long, and they went with the "screw it, we want some launch data, lets see what happens, we will learn something from it" approach.
What a change from Pad A to Pad B. Love to see a deep dive on Block 1 - Block 2 just amazing to watch this all grow change grow to become the StarShip It be a sad day when we can not see behind the wall & into the “Tents”
Bravo Mr Beyer and the NSF team. That was a great deal of interesting information, all packaged up in a beautifully designed, shot, scripted, hosted, edited and finalised production. I’ve been here since the tent and Hopper (Indeed?) It’s been amazing watching you grow. 🫡 Team Space
Thanks for the stellar report, Jack! I really enjoy your presentation style-informative with just the right amount of flair. If I ever find myself in Bocachica, I'll be sure to swing by Byers Crappers and Ice Cream (though I think I'll steer clear of the chocolate… for obvious reasons). Keep those great reports coming!
Another informative and coherent episode. Wish all news media was this good. I will be using this as an example when I teach my freind video editing later in the day.
Top quality analysis as always. Very pleased you say you don't know when you don't know. SpaceX undoubtedly the world leaders in rocket ground support.
Thanks for everything as always. One Note: That FCC NET date was February of 2024 to August this year, so maybe its just showing a previous one being restated to show its still active? Or was that likely a typo?
Because normal human beings aren't so affected by political brain rot that it affects their enjoyment of awesome technological progress. Man and all of his companies is bad because he disagrees with me is cultist behavior that I hope most people can overcome.
Iv been a disappointed and frustrated spaceflight fan for 50 years. Now it's all going off and it's exciting, but I'm conflicted because of these horrible people at the top. It's like being excited about the German V2 rocket tech, only to discover its purpose and the horror of the slave labour that builds it.
The lessons learned from Pad A, were very wasteful and expensive. And all could have been avoided using critical thinking. They innovate using blindfolded monkeys. Think twice, build once.

Amazing progress at Starbase!
Thank you Jack and NSF team for such detailed coverage. Very informative
Thanks Jack, this update was great, thanks Das for the Summaries!
Great report, Jack! Max has competition. Nice writing, Alex! I like the humor throughout. Great photography, too. And editing. And augmented shots. Nicely done!
Credits say Ryan Weber wrote it.
S26 still lives!! Yaaaaay!
And will live forever! 😂
BOK BOK! S26 ❤ is a legend never to be forgotten 4 ever!!!

Thanks Mary ❤❤
Great job all.
Great video!
Excellent job!
Jack and NSF, y'all rock! Peace 🤘 🍻 💨
thanks, succinct, awesome video......
22:06 this seems to be 2024 start date tho...
Yeah I had the same concern

Fantastic update.

Excellent update 🚀
I think that the QDE is inside the OLM
@Jack Beyer, you need a better mike so you don't have to yell.
22:06 It show 2024, not 2025
I wonder if it would be possible for Space X to use something like Falcon 9's strongback positioned on the opposite side of the flame trench for both the booster and ships QD systems?
S26 yaaaay
I'd keep booster 12 & ship 32 as the last of the Block 1;s for the Rocket garden,
Is pad b in the same orientation as pad a? Seems to me, they are going to try and catch the ship before building the rest of the tower.
Does anybody else hear Gilbert Gottfried every time someone mentions an aft flap?
Thanks for having a relevant sponsor for this episode.
Yahoo 🎉 Great job boys 🤩🚀
Thanks for the update and views 🇺🇲🇺🇦
A Just Victory 2025
🔥❤️❤️
Why don't they connect new Megabays directly to the factory? The factory should have steps first for smaller parts and then higher and higher up to the Megabay height as a final step.
canals of cryogenic pipeline can be filled with perlite))
Flame trench, gigabay... SpaceX is finding out that NASA had stacking and launch figured out in the '60s. 😉
22:09 its 02/15 2024 not 2025
A Starlink loader that can be hoisted by chopsticks makes sense. That way you don't have to bring Starship inside to reload the Pez Dispenser.
Vessi sizes just go to 14.
Exciting stuff.
The top arms of the mechazilla carriage look under engineered compared to the catch arms themselves. Those top carriage arms have to hold the impact force of landing. Are don’t look strong enough compared to the actual catch arms.
Great coverage and very informative but Jack, please relax and slow your delivery. The info is exciting enough, you don't have to push so hard.
Excellent, work, star base, Texas.
Nail in the coffin? But not the wiki wiki of a truntable, that’s what we old guys played music on. Hehe
to be fair spacex always intended some sort of deluge, it just was going to take too long, and they went with the "screw it, we want some launch data, lets see what happens, we will learn something from it" approach.
0:01 “Push hard” is what happens when you eat too much bacon.
Did Calvin at Base Camp Zero get caught yet?
Greetings from Brasil🎉
No more danger-van? wasn't it still drivable?
Please let the corporate powers-that-be give Gwen more control over Spacex. Elon seems…disinterested going forward.
💪🚀✨♥️😍
@22:07 that date from the FCC has last year on it... either a typo on their end or an older document.
Don't worry, we came here to wait a bit longer.
Hey, Jack. This is a lot of information.Thank you very much. You did a great job
5:33 Jack’s inner Billy Mays comes out
Elon is busy. Gwen should be the name drop going forward @NasaSpaceFlight
The return of the Jack!
If they build it we will come
👍
What a change from Pad A to Pad B.

Considering Starship is grounded this may never be used

Jack was so slow today.......
correction that's Feb 15 2024 not 2025
🙏🇮🇳
Top quality analysis as always. Very pleased you say you don't know when you don't know.
SpaceX undoubtedly the world leaders in rocket ground support.
22:06 this permit application is dated last year around this time…
Go back to TX Elon. Stay out of Washington. Stay out of our lives.
Where are they going to put the broken cross logo?
What's Elon up to?
Thanks for everything as always.
One Note: That FCC NET date was February of 2024 to August this year, so maybe its just showing a previous one being restated to show its still active? Or was that likely a typo?
Ship 26 is alive!
How the orbital launch mount will be transport to Pad b??? So heavyweight and a long way to destination...
Probably on multiple SPMT’s. Instead of the two usual units for ships and boosters, it will probably ride on four or more.
dis sombody say K F C ?
🙏🌹🚀🇺🇲
Come on
Hi ✨🚀🚀
How can you still follow Musk ?
Because normal human beings aren't so affected by political brain rot that it affects their enjoyment of awesome technological progress. Man and all of his companies is bad because he disagrees with me is cultist behavior that I hope most people can overcome.
Because this is more than the work of just one person, despite how you simpletons see the world.
@@imaginary_friend7300you think like Elon. I'm sure he has the same opinion of people.
For many of us Elon is a side issue as we pay more attention to the progress at Starbase.
Iv been a disappointed and frustrated spaceflight fan for 50 years. Now it's all going off and it's exciting, but I'm conflicted because of these horrible people at the top. ANTITRUST
It lives. ….. S26 😂
I'll bet they found a flaw in version 2 with the lose. And now they have to rapidly integrate fast...but they'll figure it out. Imo
scrap s26 nose cone
Yes, SpaceX did an amazing job of relearning what NASA knew 50 years ago.
Dumb statement. - Signed, NASA Rety
🥱🛌
Now Elon is in charge to the US treasury, he has unlimited money.
Garbage comment
👀🇺🇸🙏
Bald guy back
Me happy
Men happy
Won't the extra loop in the lift cable that enables lifting heavier loads (yay!) also mean that the vertical movement with be
S-L-O-W-E-R?
Only if they keep the same speed on the cable spool. They could have a faster one or never used the current one at its maximum.
... ship 26 fan club will never shut up about it hahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha
For a decaffeinated Jack, slow playback speed to . 75 😂😂😂😮
Try 0.5 speed for a wasted Jack
Or go 1.25x for TacticalRab speed 🙃
How will the staffing changes at the FAA impact SpaceX? Will approvals take longer or will there be less regulation/oversight?
That's akin to guessing how much progress will be made toward a lunar base by 2100!?
The lessons learned from Pad A, were very wasteful and expensive. And all could have been avoided using critical thinking. They innovate using blindfolded monkeys. Think twice, build once.
Yall realize the February 15 date was February 15 2024..
