We also have expensive rents but mostly in the inner districts (or as we call them „noble districts“) for an example. ->An apartment with 60square meters in the first district could cost u like 1200€-1500€/month, it also depends if its a new bulding or old like mine right now (from 1933) we also have allot of different types of contracts. Simply answer, as a american friend told me. The US citiizien want to have the similar health care as the Europeans, want to have fine cities, but want to pay still the US tax and social rates. When you will pay taxes, as we have in Europe, with more than 50% from you income, than things will change. Another example: Comparethe price of 1 liter fuel between Europe and USA.
