Ring of Honor (ROH) is a professional wrestling promotion recently acquired by Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, Chief Football Strategy Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars and GM/Sporting Director of Fulham F.C. The acquisition, which was completed through an entity that is wholly-owned by Tony Khan, included ROH’s extensive video library dating back to 2002, brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment and more.
With more than 20 years of rich wrestling history, ROH has launched the careers of numerous AEW stars, including CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Hangman Page, Dr. Britt Baker, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, among others. Additional members of the AEW roster have made their mark in ROH, including the late Brodie Lee, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Scorpio Sky, ReDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly), Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta), Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels, Matt Sydal, Mercedes Martinez, Serena Deeb, Frankie Kazarian, Keith Lee, Eddie Kingston, Evil Uno, QT Marshall, Danhausen, Lance Archer, Griff Garrison, Thunder Rosa, Wheeler Yuta, Luchasaurus, Orange Cassidy, Ethan Page, Austin Gunn, PAC, Kip Sabian, John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Jerry Lynn, BJ Whitmer, Ace Steel and Sonjay Dutt.
ROH’s current list of champions includes ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe, ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta, ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez. Tony Khan’s purchase of ROH signifies a new chapter in the future of professional wrestling as AEW’s meteoric rise continues to draw the youngest-skewing wrestling audience on television.
Fun fact: Adam Cole almost stopped wrestling before this match but AJ and him had a conversation and it lead to Cole deciding not to quit the business. Hence why Adam was “out of shape” in this match.
heard a similar story about Kenny Omega. After his match with AJ, he decided to stay in the business.
AJ is a legend.
Cole doesn’t look out of shape to me, if anything, he looks more bulked.
He also was injured for a few months so he couldn’t work out as much

Yeah also Daniel Bryan was the most over wrestlers of the past decade, Cm Punk had a 400+ WWE championship reign, Seth Rollins has actually almost accomplished everything in the WWE, Kevin Owens is a former intercontinental champ, US champ, and had a decent run with the universal championship (even though he shouldn’t have lost it too goldberg, shit move by WWE) so WWE really hasn’t ruined much former ROH talent
AJ is the most complete wrestler to have ever graced wrestling. Versatility, athleticism, a good gifted ability to sell moves and execute them as well. As good as it can get. It's just SAD that WWE got him in so so late. He's not just Phenomenal, He's A Unicorn in Himself.

AJ had his best matches in TNA, NJPW and Roh. I don't watch wwe. I saw 2 matches he had in wwe.

WWE just nerfed him down so much.. BUT dude has nothing to prove already at this point of his illustrious career thus he's happy being in WWE and he's ok wrestling toned down though WWE has the worst travelling schedule ever.. i can see him being Part-Time in a few years...

Wow AJ Styles is without a doubt the best wrestler in the world. the man has held Championship gold absolutely everywhere including the top prizes in the game. But it always makes me wonder why in the hell he never held the Ring of Honor heavyweight title.
IWGP Heavyweight champs is the real big deal, so they decide to made him the champ instead ROH heavyweight tittle, also it made AJ could promote New Japan and ROH more in western audiences

Pretty crazy, seeing how amazing this match was, but also knowing how much both of them improved their movesets over the years.
AJ's moveset has actually devolved, IMO. Adam Cole is for sure way better now, though.
I think styles moveset is limited coz of his age and wwe ego. But he really had best moveset in his prime

This is what makes REAL wrestling great that we can go back and look at guys who grew up and now run the show still in 2021 and the Georgia Florida connection between these 2 world champions as well.
This and Ready to Fly from TNA has to be tied with AJ's best theme.

AJ is the only one who has proven he is a main event star and can perform wherever being tag midcard and heavyweight champs in multiple companies, I mean ROH, Impact and WWE. AJ is the goat and besides that I've heard nothing but good things from him behind the scenes.
