- This was my Dad’s first workout in my home and garage gym. Also, this was our first workout together in about 20 years. We use the Fettle Fitness ISO Pulldown, the Nautilus Pullover, the Fettle Fitness ISO Row, the Nautilus Bicep Machine, the Powertec Multipress and more! I also conduct my first interview with my dad.

I would love to see you visit your dads home gym and do a tour. That be sick.
I hope to get over there and give a tour at some point. Thanks so much, APC!
I would never push lifting on my kids just because i love it but i hope some day to be able to have a workout with them. Good vid and keep up the good content.
Thanks so much! I didn’t live with my dad so it was always a treat to go to the gym with him and we spent a lot of time in grocery stores looking at bodybuilding magazines. If I lived full-time with him, I may not have loved and love lifting the way I do. For example, my stepdad, who I lived with, really wanted me to do well with baseball and pushed me reasonably hard; it was just enough pushing to make me decent but else enough pushing that I eventually got turned off from it.
Very cool seeing you working out with your Dad. Impressive weight to be moving for someone in their 60s! Looks like he's making a great recovery being 6 months out from his hip surgery too!
Indeed. Thanks so much!
Lets just say this..i was eating my breakfast while watching. I moved my plate over a couple times because i was going to type out comments as I was watching. BUT then id move my plate back and keep eating. This happened about 3x. WHY? I had to keep watching. This video hit me in the feels. #1 ive often wondered what it would have been like to actually have a dad. #2 I was that dad that wanted to do things with my boys. And workingout is one. They never cared to. Still dont. Cant really get them to do anything other than hook up online for a game. #3 this is what i wanted my channel to be. Me,someone else or 10 other people hanging out. Workingout. talking. Other such things. Just a good fun channel that people wanted to tune in daily to see. #4 you are lucky to have a dad that actually there and also that wants to workout. Treasure it...
Thanks so much BBD! I really appreciate your comment and I hope you see your plan for your channel come together.
Once again, you and your Dad knocked this video out of the park. Great seeing your father in such great shape. Man, that guy is stronger than a ox. Give him a couple months, and he will be pushing you to increase the intensity of your workouts.
Thanks so much! I know…at this rate, he’s going to pass me pretty quickly.
One of the best workout and motivational videos for me. Your dad is working hard and looks pretty good for his age. Looking forward for more workout videos 💪😎👍
That is so cool to hear! Thank you!
What a precious video. I love the relationship you have with your dad. I wish him a speedy recovery.
Thanks so much!
Love this duo!!!
Thanks so much, LGG!
Your Dad also likes the pullover machine, that's very cool
Had to be a fun video to make!!!
I am really glad he liked the pullover and it really was a fun video to make. Thank you!
Well done!!
Thanks so much!
Dad put in work, impressive this is a great collab in the lab! Team Jacked Hacks!!
lol! Thank you, MC!
You’ve got a few more machines I wish I had room for. Love that you and your dad share the passion for training and that he did competitive bodybuilding as well!!
I would like to have a warehouse for all the machines I’d like to have. Thanks so much!
very cool training with your dad!
Thanks so much!
Great video and AWESOME workout and interview with Dad💪🏾. Thanks so much Dad for the training tips.
Thank you!
Pops still gets after it. Fun video.
He really does!
The best video, that was awesome!
Thank you! Great to hear!
Thanks for showing your workout with your Dad. It was weird to see someone else using the equipment other than yourself! Haha, but of course good. Thanks for the interesting interview at the end of the video also.
Thanks so much! lol! He and my wife are really the only ones who have used the equipment.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Good for you. With the amount you must spend on it all I don't blame you. I am much the same. I Just have a good since childhood friend over once a week for a full body workout that I allow to train at mine in exchange for free IT as he is a computer wizz. plus the missus and the eldest child is getting ready to get into it also.
The older lad had a friend over the recently, begging me to show the gym, and despite me instructing him to be sensible, I caught the friend swinging off a tricep bar loaded with a full stack when my back was turned for but a moment, and an almoghty crash of the stack on my leg extension on the way back down despite for warning him to let it down gently.
My point is that it is really not worth people outside of our inner circles abusing our cherished equipment!
Do you have anymore workouts planned to be filmed with your Dad? I am assuming you two do not live close to one another?
@@johnpain8380 I’ve had a couple people reach out and ask if I wanted to get on board with a new concept similar to Airbnb where people pay to use my gym but I had to pass on that offer.
Sorry to hear about the near damage to the equipment and with stuff like you mentioned it’s so easy for someone to get hurt when equipment isn’t being used the right way.
We don’t live super close, so we can’t do this regularly but I know he wants to come back sooner than later.
Incredible video. Might be my favorite of yours. Your dad is such a no-nonsense kind of guy. No talking, just working.
Thanks so much! Definitely. He was trying to speed me along between work sets and back off sets lol!
This is awesome and I’m super jealous. I always wished my dad was into bodybuilding or just lifting weights. He’s more of a cardio guy, so no dice. But I do have a young son who seems to already be interested in lifting, so hopefully we can replicate what you got goin on here. Very wholesome man
Thanks so much! I hope you and your son can have years and years of quality training together.
@home gym hacks and reviews I just purchased the fettle iso row and iso chest press machines using your codes and it saved me $179.50. Thanks for all the videos and all the time and effort that is required to do these videos. It is very taxing on the creative mind and the body. I know because I used to film and direct . It was too stressful for me I had to pivot. So I understand what it takes to film and edit but also the motivation to do especially when tired after long day of work. Anyway thank you and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment and I’m glad the code was able to save you some money. I used the ISO Row last night and I am always impressed by how much that machine wrecks my lats.
Torso machine for 200.00!!??? Wow what a deal! New to your channel. But I have to admit I thought you were just rich! With all this equipment! You inspired me to buy the powertec machine!! It's on the way.. craigslist hun? Ok I will most definitely keep my eyes open. Thanks for the knowledge on that.
It was an incredible find. I found the BodyMasters Low Back machine at the same time for 500. Sometimes the selectorized machines will go for a decent price because they are so heavy / hard to move and people will drop the price to sell them fast.
Not at all. This gym started with a Power Rack. I had to sell all kinds of stuff to buy my first Levergym. A lot of buying, selling, then upgrading.
I hope you are happy with the Powertec purchase. As you know, I love my Powertec equipment. I’m glad you found the channel. Thanks so much!
Your dad's a beast! I was expecting to see an old guy hobbling from one machine to another but he stayed right with you, very impressive! He looks 50 not 60 btw
I’ll be sure to tell him that…that will make his day! Thanks so much!
60 is the new 50… or maybe even the new 40 if you lift enough😂. I’m 62 lifting 3-4 times a week and have no intention of stopping. It’s the only way. Love from the UK bros!
@@Simonet1309 that is awesome to hear! Keep crushing it!
Finally, we get to see the legend!! 💪
He doesn't look old enough to be your Dad.
lol! I remember a while back you mentioned doing something like this. I also gave you a quick shoutout in my recent Powertec Dip Attachment and Preacher Curl attachment video.
Amazing
Thanks so much!
Awesome video!!!
Thank you!
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews question the pendulum squat how many pieces is it can it be put broken down and put in a basement
@@CapUnlimited so it comes fully assembled; I have a full review if you want to see the delivery. I have heard from multiple people that it’s not too difficult to disassemble and move into a basement. The machine is heavy and each piece is well made so you will likely need some help.
Let’s get a tour of your dad’s gym!
I hope to make that happen at some point.
hi CAN YOU REAVIEW THE CAR JACK DEAD.LIFT ATTACHMENT or chest supported row or the horizontal row machine from fortis equipment ?
What do you think about the Prime machines with their ability to vary the resistance profiles ?
I like them but they are out of my price range. Also, for my garage gym the machines are a bit overkill. With bands, I can kinda-sorta change resistance profiles enough to meet my needs.
I agree! I find them interesting - but definitely overkill. Can you see them being the future of elite bodybuilding?
@@sasdf2215 when I think about Ronnie, Jay, Arnold, etc., those guys built physiques that are still unmatched with pretty basic equipment and basic exercises. While I don’t think it can hurt, I don’t think the Prime equipment is the secret ingredient …don’t get me wrong, I’d like to have any of their machines, but I’m not paying those prices.
Impressive for 60+. I heard him say he won shows in Richmond not far from me at all. Did he try out the rhino?
Very cool! I asked him to try it but he wanted to come back and use it at a later date.
@Home Gym Hacks and Reviews loving mine off of your reviews. I love the look of the old bicep machine to I wish a gym had one nearby in Va to try out.
@@ronnierose1636 that is awesome to hear! Thanks so much!
❤💪🏻
🙌 🙌 🙌
Really cool to see you and your dad in action together. You guys got after it! Sometimes I wonder what my dad would think of my home gym. He had an old bench and some weights in the basement when I was a kid. This video will be one to look back on one day. Great stuff!
Thanks so much, Carter! It certainly will be fun to look back at this down the road. If you don’t mind me asking, is your dad still around to check out your awesome set up?
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Unfortunately, he is not. He passed away almost 10 years ago. I miss him every day.
@@TheCarterHomeGym I was afraid this was the case by the way you worded your comment. Sorry to hear, Carter.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Thank you man
Great video. Good to see Dad still moving some decent weight.
Thanks so much and I very much agree.
The video I have been waiting for! You and your dad are awesome, and I love y’all’s shared passion for bodybuilding. So awesome to see, HGHR!
Thanks so much, BGB!
Good workout. Be fun to see your dad's home gym. And a workout there. 60 yrs old bodybuilder here! Keep after it!
Nice work! Great to hear you’re lifting in your 60s too! I’ll eventually get over there and hopefully give a tour and maybe even a workout. Thanks so much!
I would like to second that.
Nice video, as it always great to see a father and son get together. Especially when they share a passion of what they truly love.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Your father is in the same age group as me and it’s nice to see he is active in staying in shape to maintain his health.
@@JoseSuarez-bk3qg very cool! I hope to be training in my 60s and 70s.
Thats great brother. I never did anything like this with my Dad. He wasn’t into fitness like me. Now he’s gone. Appreciate every minute of Dad time!
My boy is 3 and a half and we do everything together! I have a home gym and by the time he is lifting age I will be still training in my early 50’s
Thanks so much! Great to hear you are having a good time with your son and here’s to many years of quality training!
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews
Got a hack for ya.
I attach IPR fitness straps to the leverage arms and attach the straps to the cable. Lat pull downs and triceps dips. It actually mimics the Triceps Powertec attachment.
@@danielwilczak304 I have seen both, but have yet to try. The Pulldown set up that way is pretty similar to the Multi System and I agree, that makes the dip similar to the attachment. Thanks so much!
This is awesome and would make a great series!
Edit: commented before watching the whole video. We need a video of you guys getting in a workout in your dad's basement. You could review his equipment as well.
Thanks so much! I know he wants to try the Rhino and give the Pendulum a real workout.
Body BeatDown sent me over!!! Great stuff working out with your father. I love it when my son goes to the gym with me.. You have some great equipment as well!!!
Thanks so much! That’s awesome! BBD is a cool dude.
Excellent gym... great Dad and Son relationship... God Bless you both
I appreciate your comment! Thank you!
Could you review Tag Fitness utility bench? Seems the same as your Titan except a seller of Tag claims 600 pound weight rating compared to 330 pounds on Titan. Being 250,myself, only leaves me 80 pounds to work with. Thx.
Maybe at some point, but probably not anytime soon. I sold the Titan Seated Stationary Bench a while back (I have been using the Ironmaster Seated Press Pad in its place). The V1 I had was pretty poorly made and the pads basically had cardboard backs. The Tag Bench does look a bit nicer.
You are blessed to have your father around on top of him being able to train with you. My Son and I, also Power-build together in my garage. I pray to Jesus Christ that he becomes accomplish like you and has his own gym so I can be proud of him and train with him. God bless and I bid you peace.
Thanks so much for this very nice comment. I truly hope you two will have years of great training in his future home gym.
What was your Dad’s favorite piece of equipment. He must’ve been impressed with all the equipment you have. My home gym is one of the best investments I have ever made.
He liked everything a lot, but oddly enough he liked the AbCore the most.
The Biceps Family now
💪 🤓
Let’s get a tour of your dads gym, I love all the old stuff man built excellent
Hopefully sooner than later. Thanks so much!
You got some great equipment
Thank you! It’s taken a while to get to this point.
Wookie warriors
😂
Well done.
Thank you, Brian!
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews I was curious what your father was going to say about the ab machine since it has a little more hip movement than the old Nautilus machine. With the one you got, I'd do a pre-ex triset of reverse trunk curls, trunk curls (as described by Darden) and then the machine.
Your dad should start a Life Hacks channel, he doesn’t look or lift like someone of that age, looks like he can handle himself too.
lol! I think one thing that keeps him young is not drinking…not a drop for over 20 years.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews I’m 54 and have never drank, but he looks younger than me.
@@WhistlerUK I quit sporadically for years at a time. Presently I am almost 5 years without a drink.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews my parents ran a pub when I was a kid, that was enough to put me off drinking for life, great video BTW, enjoy your workouts with your dad, he seems like a great workout buddy.
@@WhistlerUK thank you. I can only imagine you saw some odd stuff. I am always surprised when someone has lived their whole life without a drink and find it commendable.
Great video! Glad that bodybuilding took care of your dad into his 60s. He still looks strong and performs the movements well.
Thank you! Bodybuilding definitely served him well in his younger years and now again. He’s as passionate now as he was in his 20s. I hope I can say the same when I’m 60+
Love your content
I sincerely appreciate it!
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews it's inspirational. If you saw me today you wouldn't possibly be able to tell but I used to be a very avid weightlifter. I also used to do some one on one personal training. If I had the ability and means I would build a garage gym and go back to that. And your channel would be one of the first places I would come to to help pick equipment. :-) Keep them coming
@@jasonvichinsky1458 very cool of you to say and I wish you the best in your fitness journey.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews do you or your father get a lot of use out of resistance bands?
@@jasonvichinsky1458 him, no. I incorporate them quite a bit. Within the last couple weeks, I have been adding them to a lot of my plate loaded machines to enhance the resistance profile of the machines.
Has Ronnie and jay mad it with a documentary like Pumping Iron? No… that’s because golden area is the best. Lol Jk would you still recommend the IronMaster over the Pepin dumbbells or Baad Ass?
Based on what I’ve seen and read, the Ironmaster DBs are still my first choice. At some point, I would like to try the others to be certain.
