Nice paint Chris! Bummer! The only thing I can say is use a lot of water. Do not use a solvent clear coat over those decals, just use acrylic or floor polish. 🤞🤞🤞
Ouch, that is really frustrating. Back when I was in the Salvinos club, Rick talked about the vermillion decals when they started to offer them. He explained they have to use two layers of white, then the vermillion. And maybe even two layers of Vermillion so that the underlying color does not bleed through. The downside of this is that it makes the decal thick, and in turn very stiff, leading to the issue you experienced. I can not recall exactly what he suggested, but generally when you have thick decalsm you can try hotter water, which will make the decal a little more flexible, a hair dryer at a low setting once the decal is on the model, and a more powerful decal solvent like solvaset. It is a tough call whether to use the decals or paint it, as that is a pretty wild masking job. Good luck, I know you can do it!
Thanks! I've been heavy on the micro Sol and micro set on these. Like I said, compared to the Valvoline set, this is disappointing, but I'm still hopeful to get something displayable out of this. The kit is a great kit
Frustrating and disappointing I think are the two words I'm looking for. I love Powerslides, hopefully it's just this set. Hoping to make something awesome if this yet
I didn't have any issues with the decals. Although I've done two of the Richard Petty cars, one I painted because of the large area of color. You may have gotten a bad card. Not sure why they broke up. Good luck going forward.
Bummer on the decals. I've never used them before. I would try writing Salvinos and see if you can get a replacement set and hoe they work better. Not sure what else to suggest. I'll be watching
I used to belong to their club but all I got was Chevrolet NASCAR’s you can only have so many before it gets monotonous I think 12 Chevy NASCAR is enough and I don’t know about those decals I was wondering they feel a little thin but I haven’t used them so I have no opinion on those yet
The Larson Valvoline set was awesome, worked perfectly, can't say enough what a pleasure they were. I've noticed that Salvinos is heavy on the Chevy's, but there isn't too many options for the Toyotas and the Fords just seem to be the Penskes.
I've always loved that combination and scheme
It's a classic!!!
Some good looking work there!
Loving it!.... Mopar!... Happy New Year!
Gimme a break, you probably don't even know what Mopar means

I love the quick shine polish, I'm hoping to get a number of coats on this guy when I finish these decals, just to protect them
Can't comment on that one, but I did do his 1977 ride and they worked very well. Look forward to seeing your finished version.
I'm hoping I can make this look good yet!!!!

I love applying decals but would have opted for paint in this case.
Thinking next time that's the route I'm going
Ouch that sucks! I've built 3 Salvinos kits so far and have 4 in my stash. I've never had any issues like that with power slide decals.
I'm a huge Powerslide fan!!! I don't know if it's just this set or what, but this time I'm not having fun

Wow, that’s frustrating, hopefully you can get the other decals to cooperate a little better, otherwise a great looking build!

Oh man that sucks about the decals. I dont have a suggestion because I havent done one of those. Im sure youll come up with something though!
Lotta patience and lotta micro Sol so far

Talk to power slide and get another set and cut some pieces and over lay where the decal failed just a thought.

I love the Powerslides, just frustrated with this set. Lotta micro Sol and micro set, hopefully make it look decent yet

Sorry buddy
😞 I'm hopeful still that I can make this into something displayable
@carouselofcrazychrisb I get it. Been working on a gasser build that's due in a few days. I cleared it and the clear dried flat 🤯😵
