Great quality recording. Definitely some of Dio's best work, and a fantastic show with a great lineup. I recently saw Last In Line when they came to NH during a tour and it brought me right back to these days of great tunes and musicians. Vivian hasn't lost his chops! If you have a chance go check them out!!!

Had a pair of Jensen book shelve speakers seat belt strapped in the back of my Mercedes 190D. Last In Line always sounded unbelievable with a amp in line. Those Jensen's lasted so long in the back of my car they had a dark diagonal stripe when removing them. The sun had faded out the rest of the grills. I wish I still had those speakers. They were monster 2 way's! Best car speakers ever. The Pioneer TS-6905's in my 1965 Cadillac were monsters to!

Fuji Rocks festival. Never let your wife become the manager of your band. She'll kill any golden goose. Dio's caliber of songwriting went with Viv's firing.

Firing VC was a bad move. Dio released four or five albums that were not very good.

Vinny has such a monster drum sound live! Also love how Dio always used keyboards to add texture to the songs, not as a sudden "gimmick" to change their sound.

Japan!! Even though I was fortunate, so very fortunate to see Dio live 8 times here in Philadelphia. The last time I saw him was in 07 as Heaven and He'll actually the only time I saw him live where I was not front row. I will forever hold every Dio performance up to the first VHS "LIVE AT LAST" The Last in Line tour. THAT SHOW from the Spectrum...NOT DREAM EVIL was still outside of KISS and Maiden THE Greatest DIO show ever. The camera angles by NFL FILMS, the first concert they ever shot was amazing. Especially the behind the stage looking into the crow, especially during Heaven and He'll, I got to meet Ronnie 4 times. The last time the DIO band played here was 2004. I as always was front row. I have it on dvd and the last two songs Ronnie kept running down to the press pit ( between front row and stage).!It's all on dvd, Ime and Ronnie like 3 or 4 times. He was so full of thanks and live that night. I think he sensed it was the last time he would play Philadelphia in such a small setting because after the MOON tour it was all arenas and big theaters with Sabbath.

Most rock singers , and pop singers in general , have what can best be described as a "narrow" voice . Thin and focused . But Ronnie's voice was so broad . He was hitting several frequencies at once , something more common among crooners like Sinatra or Tony Bennett . Do be able to do that in full voice and power is really something special . And of course this band is something special too. This whole era was full of absolute killers . Cats that could really DO the thing , no tricks or software covering their asses . And they'd often do it on short notice . Having like 3 days to not only learn somebody else's songs , but then go play them live in front of thousands of very particular and discerning fans .

Vivian is awesome. I saw this tour. At the Omni in Atlanta - Nov 12th 1984 and I also saw them Sept 28th 1985. Dokken and Rough Cutt opened. Section 2 row A, for $13.75 ! I still have all my old ticket stubs... anyway, it was a great show both times! We snuck back stage after one show and met Vivian and some of the guys from Rough Cutt. Good times...

I saw Dio in Charlotte NC in 1985. Dokken opened! Fantastic performance!
Dio played about 6-8 songs but got little reaction from the crowd. (no big hits)
Ronnie stood there in disbelief as the audience was nearly silent after the last song played.
Then he suddenly sang, “If she was high on a hill, she’d still be looking down at me.”
The crowd erupted with cries of, “YEAH!” (nearly in unison) I must admit, I did too.😮
Ronnie said, “Na, you don’t wanna hear that, do you?”
The crowd emphatically shouted twice as loud, “YEAH!!”
Ronnie shook his head, “Na!”….crowd screaming now “YEAH !!”
“You wanna hear some Rainbow 🌈?”…
Then they played “Long Live Rock and Roll” and the crowd finally showed appreciation for the band.
I think they played Mob Rules, too.
    Unforgettable show.
