20:32 "I don't even know what the version 2 is" Baby, let me tell you: Sugar free has 3 versions. Each one with different beat drops. And all of them are ICONIC
Yasss you made it to my favorite T-ara song Sugar free! It’s a timeless masterpiece in my opinion. It’s produced and written by one of the best idol producers there is, the icon that is LE (or ELLY) from EXID. She’s a rapper, producer and song writer. She’s also on Sugar free, she’s one of the rappers you heard, take timestamp 19:40 before the drop as an example. Before she was the main rapper and producer of EXID. She was under Cube entertainment, where she trained before becoming a rap coach for HyunA. LE basically created the female rappers from cubes style. To make it easier: LE trained HyunA who went on to inspire/train Yeeun (CLC) and Soyeon’s (G-idle) raptones. I can hear it very well in some of Yeeuns raps (not a bad thing but an interesting detail). With all this said, I highly recommend you react to EXID if you want more of LE’s amazing talent. Love your reactions as always❤
I have EXID on my list!!! I can't wait to get to them! When we swing back to the Throwback series after exploring some soloists they are top on the list 🥰

If you want to hear them rap more there is plenty of content to work through 😁 T-ara actually have one of the most extensive discographies in all of K-pop with a ton of albums, both Korean and Japnese (back then they were actually one of the most famous Korean acts in Japan and very much in China as well). Each member has multiple solo singles and albums, they have sub-units like T-ara N4 and QBS. The main rappers of the group are Eunjung and Hyomin who are also both lead vocalists. Members Ahreum and Hwayoung were also main rappers at some point, but they left the group in 2012/13.
As long as you're reviewing old groups, I recommend Kara, Girl's Day, Orange Caramel, Laboum, and Crayon Pop. Girl's Day's Female President is the first K-Pop song I ever liked and remains my favorite. Plus it has a nice female empowerment theme you're sure to like. There are two MV's, the regular and the dance, and both are good. There's a cute scene in the regular MV that is sure to tickle you.
Kara has been done already in the Throwback series! I also have several of the others on my list to get to! 🥰 Girl's Day is one I'm very interested in checking out!
@@roguereacts 👍 I just found out the audio tracks for the Girl's Day albums were uploaded to RUclips in January of this year, so now I have TEN new Girl's Day songs to listen to, and I still have more to review. And if you like ballads, which I don't, you might have way more than that to enjoy. Okay, I did save one ballad just because they're THAT good. A little background info so you're not surprised: Girl's Day started off with five members and a cutesy look and poppy sound. They were unremarkable and not very popular. Then two members left, one new member was added, and they switched to a sexy look and hot sound and became very popular, and not a little controversial in straight laced Korea. They had just three hits, Expect, Something, and Female President, but deserved to have so many more.
Watch live stage of Like The First Time. You get a Hyomin and Eungung rap. And Qri is the girl with the red hair. A real problem for me in the later OT4 years.
Rogie, T-ara had one of the biggest controversies in kpop history that spanned across being blackballed by the industry for over 5 years. It was bigger news than the olympics in korea when it happened it was MASSIVE.
Sexy Love: Interesting beat and choreo Like it. Number Nine: Ditto. Sugar Free. love the music and the beat. Tiamo: Their vocal skills are more distinct. A pleasant change.
I am strong OT6 T-ara fan and I hate all that shit MBK did during their activity. Everything was nearly perfect until they added that horse Hwhayong (she is really pretty but I didn't get the point why to put someone in well established group)and she ruined everything.
😂 never have I seen someone get so mad about the rap parts lol Rap was much less of a focus in 2nd gen than it is now (especially in girl groups). Most groups who debuted in 2009 onwards had rappers, but the rap was just kinda plonked into the song randomly and not given much thought. Some more hip hop focused groups had more effort put into the rap parts (like 2ne1 and 4minute), but for the majority of GGs it was like this lol. People didn't really come to T-ara for the rap 😂. Oh yeah, in the early 2010s vocal distortion effects were evvverywhere in kpop 😂
Yes, for "Sexy Love" they went with the dolls/mannequins concept, again another interesting switch-up for them which would support their label as "chameleons of K-pop" :D The member who rapped was Ahreum, the new member added earlier that year (2012), she has a bit of a lower-tone voice. What I really like about the rap style of T-ara, namely from Hyomin and Eunjung, is they always rap with a bit of fuller vocal tone, usually with little processing/auto-tune, and not with a sharper vocal tone like you might hear from CL or G-Idle's Soyeon (nothing against that style of rapping, but i just prefer me the old-school style). Some of their earlier songs and B-sides really let that rap style shine, such as "Why Are You Being Like This/What's Wrong" (where Eunjung and Hwayoung get to rap) or "T.T.L", a collab with their same-label boy group Supernova (where Hyomin and Eunjung rap). "T.T.L" is honestly legendary, even though it was T-ara's 1st comeback (and Supernova wasn't like super-popular) it literally became such an iconic song and like everyone in Korea has heard the song, even if they don't know T-ara's name or anything. It's also probably the second most successful male-female collab in K-pop, after Troublemaker. "Number 9" was released in 2013, after Ahreum left, and marked a return to the original debut lineup of 6 members. I believe it's partly inspired by the song "Love Potion No. 9". And yes, all 6 members have had solo releases, let me list them here: -Boram (straight black hair with bangs): She actually released some solo songs before she debuted in T-ara, as her parents are well-known in the entertainment industry so they must've helped her - "Is it Today", "From Memory" (2008) -Qri ("Q-ree") (red hair): "Suri Suri" (2021) -Soyeon (main vocal in the chorus): "Just the Same as Before", "Interview" (2021) -Eunjung (shortest bob hair): She released solo songs using the name Elsie - "I'm Good", "Goodbye" (2015) -Hyomin (has the rap): "Nice Body" (2014), "Mango" (2018), "Allure" (2019) -Jiyeon (shoulder-length brown hair): "Never Ever" (2014), "Take a Hike" (2019) "Sugar Free" is such hard EDM by K-pop standards haha but it tends to be an easy entry point for modern international fans to get into T-ara's music, as a result XD "Tiamo" was released in 2016 kind of like a song for the fans, known as Queen's. And that's JIyeon at the start of the MV, the face of the group :) Also, this would end up being the last title track release including Soyeon and Boram. If you get a chance to revisit T-ara's discography, I have to recommend these MVs: -"T.T.L" (2009), collab with boy group Supernova that is legendary, and features an iconic chorus with lots of rap verses -"Like the First Time" (2009), cute MV with a heavy synth-based sound -"I Go Crazy Because of You"/"You Drive Me Crazy" (2010), darker sexy-style song that parallels Britney Spears's style -"Why Are You Being Like This"/"What's Wrong" (2010), a catchy electric guitar-based song with plenty of rap -"Lovey-Dovey" Zombie Ver. (2012), that's right, it's a catchy shuffle choreo dance pop song with zombies! -"Do You Know Me?" (2013), a fun musical-style song and MV that's a remake of an older pop song -"Little Apple" (2014), a remake of a viral Chinese song that helped bolster the group's career in the Chinese market (only features 4 members) -"So Crazy" (2015), a fun pop song with a beauty pageant-style storyline in the MV -"What's My Name?" (2017), a more modern-style almost-tropical pop song that would be their last release under MBK -"Tiki Taka" (2021), yes, the remaining 4 members made a comeback after a 4-year hiatus completely funded by their own money! it has a dark but modern sound
For T-ARA Raps you cna check ALL KILL, Crazy Because of You, Apple is A, TTL, TTL lsten 2 and TTL Solo T-ARA version where rappers Hyomin and EUnjung SHine the most with Borma and JIyeon rapping too, Like The First Time, For You, Day by Day, Don't Leave, We Were in Loved.

👀 a few people gave me the low down over in the discord... its wild what happened
Sexy Love: Interesting beat and choreo Like it. Number Nine: Ditto. Sugar Free. love the music and the beat. Tiamo: Their vocal skills are more distinct. A pleasant change.
If you want experience the Tara songs with best rap licks, check out the following T-ara MVs:

I am strong OT6 T-ara fan and I hate all that shit MBK did during their activity. Everything was nearly perfect until they added that horse Hwhayong (she is really pretty but I didn't get the point why to put someone in well established group)and she ruined everything.
MBK ruined them - I hate them so much. I'm so sad about how they were handled; T-ara could've been so big
so I've been total... 😔
😂 never have I seen someone get so mad about the rap parts lol
Rap was much less of a focus in 2nd gen than it is now (especially in girl groups).
LISTEN!! 🤣 You know I love a good rap and rappers, I just wanted to hear them without the autotune effect 😅
❤❤❤..my bias ham eun jung..😊
9". And yes, all 6 members have had solo releases, let me list them here:
-Boram (straight black hair with bangs): She actually released some solo songs before she debuted in T-ara, as her parents are well-known in the entertainment industry so they must've helped her - "Is it Today", "From Memory" (2008)
-Qri ("Q-ree") (red hair): "Suri Suri" (2021)
-Soyeon (main vocal in the chorus): "Just the Same as Before", "Interview" (2021)
-Eunjung (shortest bob hair): She released solo songs using the name Elsie - "I'm Good", "Goodbye" (2015)
-Hyomin (has the rap): "Nice Body" (2014), "Mango" (2018), "Allure" (2019)
-Jiyeon (shoulder-length brown hair): "Never Ever" (2014), "Take a Hike" (2019)
"Sugar Free" is such hard EDM by K-pop standards haha but it tends to be an easy entry point for modern international fans to get into T-ara's music, as a result XD
"Tiamo" was released in 2016 kind of like a song for the fans, known as Queen's. And that's JIyeon at the start of the MV, the face of the group :) Also, this would end up being the last title track release including Soyeon and Boram.
If you get a chance to revisit T-ara's discography, I have to recommend these MVs:
-"T.T.L" (2009), collab with boy group Supernova that is legendary, and features an iconic chorus with lots of rap verses
-"Like the First Time" (2009), cute MV with a heavy synth-based sound
-"I Go Crazy Because of You"/"You Drive Me Crazy" (2010), darker sexy-style song that parallels Britney Spears's style
-"Why Are You Being Like This"/"What's Wrong" (2010), a catchy electric guitar-based song with plenty of rap
-"Lovey-Dovey" Zombie Ver. (2012), that's right, it's a catchy shuffle choreo dance pop song with zombies!
-"Do You Know Me?" (2013), a fun musical-style song and MV that's a remake of an older pop song
-"Little Apple" (2014), a remake of a viral Chinese song that helped bolster the group's career in the Chinese market (only features 4 members)
-"So Crazy" (2015), a fun pop song with a beauty pageant-style storyline in the MV
-"What's My Name?" (2017), a more modern-style almost-tropical pop song that would be their last release under MBK
-"Tiki Taka" (2021), yes, the remaining 4 members made a comeback after a 4-year hiatus completely funded by their own money! it has a dark but modern sound
T-ARA 👍❤

You missed Roly Poly, my favorite cover by Minx. Maybe next time?
Roly Poly was in pt.1
it was in MV part 1 🤘🏻
ok so there are 6 MAIN members.. originally eunjoung and hyomin (of the original 6) did all the raps.... then they introduced 2 more members for just raps.. sometimes in videos you would see 7 or 8 (the original 6 plus 1 or 2 of the new rappers)... but one of the new rappers created ridiculous controversy she was a horrible person ... .. even though the other one was totally innocent... it basically killed t-ara who were soooo huge at the time. but thats another story. The LAST song tiamo.... is basically after all the controversy... they came back and did a christmas song with just the original 6 members.. its basically saying goodbye this is our last song...... its really sad.. the person they 'love' is the fans... its so sad
Can you do pls tiki taka and all kill of t-ara.

혹시 day by day도 들었었나요? 제 최애곡입니다-!
I know you limit yourself to so many videos, but there are a bunch of more recent (relatively) that you missed. So Crazy I'm sure you would like. They also had a comeback in the last few years with just the 4 remaining members, called Tiki-Taka, along with another song, I think it's called All Kill.
I listened to All Kill on the bsides 🥰 it was one of my favs!
do you skip Day by day? :((
I have a live of it!🥰
