I’m always happy to see another lefty! I’ve had this same guitar for 4 years now, and my biggest complaint may be the tuners. One of the screws holding the tuner on for the low E stripped. Sound wise, this thing has a great “rock” sound, although I haven’t been able it to get it to squeal on the pinch harmonics as well as some of my other guitars. I feel like each guitar serves it’s function well depending on how used, and I’m definitely glad to have this one.

I've had this guitar for approximately 2 weeks. I've spent about 56 hrs exploring this guitar.. I did a complete cleaning, bought from a pawn shop. Before you buy a sg, go play one. If your fingers feel good on the fret board and you can span the fret board, and there's no cracks around neck,, (I have seen so many guitars with cracks at the neck to body area, fret buzz or strings spanding). With your strap on the guitar wants to pitch top away from you, neck wants to drop down, not balanced but my paws are all over the neck. Invest in strap locks. Then your good to go. I had buds that would not touch it after playing it. Play before you buy! The sg I found does not have a scratch on it nor any wear. I found a jewel.. Was a problem with staying in tune but found someone only wrapped the tuning heads once, go figure? For God sakes buy good strings, I use D'Addario NY XL 09/42. I wrapped four times each head of tuners. I'm playing on a fender champion 20. When the wife's away I'm on the crate. Sounds great on both amps. Im 60 yrs old (geeeesh) I've been a guitar player since I was 16yrs old, I play hard rock mostly. I play an average 6 hrs a day 5 days a week. (Found myself playing for 10 hrs some days) (when your wife works 10 to 12 hr shifts you can do that lol) I give the strings quite a work out and I mean a work out! Keeps in tune now. This guitar rocks! I only bought this guitar to have for down and open tuning. I have a esp for standard tuning. I always wanted a sg and yeah the fret is wider but I have played a sg before and I'm not having any problems. This guitar rocks. Feels amazing, action great. Check out the specs on the net, you need to know what your spending time with. My guitars are treated like my wife, on a pedestal! The sg in this video is a carbon copy of mine. Love it, love it. Long live rock of the 70's and 80's.
I like your video! Thanks for sharing.

Just picked up a lefty SG Pro (2013) from a pawnshop for $310. Pickups were removed and replaced with DiMarzio Evolutions. They also removed the POTS so no coil taps. I bought the ProBuckers, but may keep the DiMarzios in. The action is unbelievably low and no fret buzzing. I have a Jackson Soloist as well, but this SG is my go to now. Replacing the tail piece, bridge and screws with all black hardware. Time to make it sinister!

I bought mine because back in the day I had an original Gibson SG. Now, with all the problems Gibson has had and the price point, I decided to buy Epiphone. I couldn't be happier. I got the faded cherry... I love AC/DC music. Their lyrics and performance is too Satanic for me though.

Cool video fair play to you. I love the look of that guitar but I worry bout the tuning. I've often found tuning problems with left handed guitars. How did you find playing standard chords down low in the guitar.

Just arrived this morning and unboxed from reverb due to glowing specs and description. So far I’m underwhelmed and wish I went with another guitar. not sure what to make of mine yet. It arrived with action way too high, the tubing knobs keep rotating. Bad pots? I’m confused by the selector switch. In the both up position if one volume is off before I select to both it won’t work, little hard to explain but who wants electronic issues.
I played it this morning through spark using headphones (wife was asleep) and it sounded terrible. Seem like every single option on those pick ups sounded thready, muffled, crackly, and cheap though the headphones. I think I’ll stick to what I feel and that’s Ibanez RGs. Never had an issue.
But I’ll crank it up tomorrow and give a report on that.
I have a Les Paul I swapped out putting super distortion and pearly gates. Sounds good!
I think I’m not going to buy a guitar anymore without playing it first. So my bad.

Great vid. My reason for bying it, is, I played drums with a faboulos guy and player just to the left of me for 10 years, in the 80's, that play Gibson SG, so I know the sound to the bone. And the realy big reason for me is, Tom Johnston, "China Grow" and more DB stof with him. They are my big band. I love that music. It is hard to hear that the Price is the same for lefty and right handed. Because here in Europe, I bye from "gear4music.com", where they have a lefthanded Epiphone SG-400 PRO, (that is the big one like yours Sweetwater), and the difference is HARD 95$ because I am a lefty. 544$ for me and 449$ for all the rights for the same guitar. Oh man.I saw the other video whit you with this lovley Epiphone, and I like it. I realy like the sound of this epic guitar.I can not play solo, I never undertsn to se the pattern, but I can play a growey rythm, and make a lot of music to. Thats what I use my guitars for. AND, I write English as I speak it on hollyday. And on hollyday, no complanes. :-)Peace from Denmark Take care there.
