Played LS16 today at music shop and was very impressed - small body with big sound.. Also played a $4k Martin D28 and honestly the LS16 was like 80-90% of the sound for like 25% of the coin. video thumzed - keep smiling Jarvis!
I bought both a LS6 and a LS16 first gen. There was no difference between the two in the look, feel or tones. I kept the LS6 and returned the LS16 because the LS6 cost less and thought that it's rosewood ply back and side construction was stronger so it would hold up better over time. So far so good. Love my LS6. Cheers!
Ordered the LS16 ARE today in chocolate finish after reading and watching Jarvis and others. Unfortunately even our biggest stores don’t stock it, so I’ll unbox, play and then decide whether to keep or return to Amazon. Hate to do it that way, but the lack of stock leaves me no other choice.
Lovely sounding guitar. I just got an LS-TA which I think is the same as the LS16 with out the TA effect. You are right that they compare well to guitars costing 3 times as much. My guitar sounds amazing to me and I want to play it every day - and I do. Scale length is 25 9/16 though so it's not a short scale. Love your videos brother.
You are correct on the longer scale length. Was going to comment on that as well. 👍🏻. The LS-TA I believe is closer to the LS6 ? (Obviously with the addition of effects)
@@jeffberdin nope. the LS-TA is based on the LS16. full solid. it has exact spec as LS16 with the inclusion of the TA system. the LS6 has laminated back and side.
@@jeffberdin no problems. I have the LS-TA that I bought off a guy for around USD 480. really beautiful guitar in sound and construction. I was actually looking at a LS6 at that time when I came across this mint LS-TA on FB marketplace and it was a no brainer to get the LS-TA for a cheaper price. give it a go if you have the chance. it's an amazing guitar with or without the TA system.
I saw people say that the distance between strings (not on fretboard) is smaller than for example on Cort Gold O8 or Martin OM28 or other similar guitars with 44.5mm. Is it true?
Hi, I’ve been learning on a Veela’s 3/4 solid Koa but been longing for something with a bit more body, depth and sustain. I have had a brief look at one at these LS16 but do you think I would regret it over a full size dreadnought?
I love your videos - I was hoping also to hear how the SRT Zero Impact Pickups sound, so perhaps that is something to add in the future. Thanks so much for these videos!
How would the A3R ARE compared to this LS16ARE? Noticed the A series has an active pickup but this is a passive pickup. But subjectively, some say the sound natively sounds better on the LS when compared to the A series. Do you have any preference when compared to the 2?
You obviously didn’t watch the video Larry. You should start a ytb channel and let us enjoy your playing while you can’t enjoy a demonstration from others 😊
I love my LS16. And my FS5. And my old FG700...can't go wrong with Yamaha. Btw, Jarvis, it's always good to see how much you enjoy playing.
yes i took 4 videos in one sitting but i enjoyed every bit of
them
I recently sold an LS6 hoping to pick up an LS16 but ended up with an FS5 instead. Wonderful guitar and 25” scale a bit slinkier feel. 👍🏻
@@jeffberdin That was fortuitous 😀
I love the FG830 that I got in 2020. It plays and sounds so good.
@@lhvent super glad to hear that
@14:43 - Just fantastic man! So authentic and full of joy and excitement! Great video (just as the 2020 LS16 one) :-)
That thing sounds really good. I was listening in the background and it really came alive with the capoed fingerpicking.
Really cool to watch your reviews! Inspiring and informative! Keep on!!
that’s great
Thank you so much for your honest reviews man! appreciate all your videos thank you!!

The way Yamaha does its laminate Rosewood back and sides is very good. They use high-quality laminates, and that makes a difference.
This is an interesting insight. I might consider the LS6 now for my couch guitar. Thanks!

I will buy this guitar😊
Hey Jarvis, i want to buy acoustic guitar,
if you wanted to buy a guitar for yourself, which one would you choose LS16 or LL16 ?
You make great videos, I appreciate. I own a Yamaha LS16 ARE. Yamahas are great, maybe the best....
Greetings from Germany ...
@@codiaq great guitars and value for money .,you just need to change the tuners to gotoh 510s and it will stay in tune and sustain better
Do you know if Yamaha made any changes to their 2023 models?
no at this point as they won’t even say
Do you prefer this one or the FS 5?
Do they have the exakt same body dimensions and body depth?
Cheers.
I have an LL16 and want to buy this model
It sounds great 👍🏽
How much is the estimated cost please
In Thailand✌🏼🙏🙏
Thanks for posting 🏴

May I know where you do guitar set up, especially strings action?
sorry i dont know what you mean...Straigten the neck then measure and then lower the saddle accordingly
Im doubt of two models, LS16 vs LS-TA, same wood, but i dont know of this tech on ls-ta will have an issues in the future
just get the LS16 …
Jarvis, Thanks for the preview.........How do you like the LS16ARE against the FS3?
ls16 will have more bell like clear ringing trebles. .. the fs3 is not that clear and muddy tone as it’s scalloped bracing
the ls16 tops are more stable than the fs3
Is it really shortscale? Imo its 650mm... Nice review btw👌😉

just a decent sounding pickup that’s all plug in and play .. nothing spectacular

the A3r is less responsive than a LS16 as it’s a stage guitar
In your opnion, yamaha ls16 or crafter TBG-1000ce, all solid with same wood of yamaha ls16?
take the yamaha as its overall a well made guitar to last but sounds darn good
Great content as always!! What mic are you using? It sounds great!!
Audio Technica condenser mic …an old one

So are you saying the L series is stronger or not due to not being Sitka spruce?..
They use englemann spruce tops but are braced thick with non scalloped

Fgx5 vs ll16?
listen to both clips and your decide
Hi
I think the LS sounds punchier than the LL 🤷🏼♂️
It’s more balance and has clearer highs that’s why
Yamaha guitars more cheaper than Martin guitars
Play something instead of just strumming chords, boring
