Too Much Stuff - Land Rovers and Parts Everywhere

  • Today we work on getting all our stuff back to the Ranch. Since we closed the shop last year we have had our parts, tools and vehicles scattered all over. It's been kind of a pain getting projects accomplished with that. So we move out of one building and make a new mess at the Ranch. We bust the 1 of 100 Kalahari Discovery out of storage as well.

    - if your luck is like mine…. You’re gonna need those bar stool parts in a few months. LoL 🤣

      Exactly why I’ve had them for 12 years haha. Never know. 🤣

    Great to see you managing to consolidate all of your treasures into one or two shops, at least you just might be able to find the bits you need LOL. Mounting the V8 on the engine stand was totally not sketchy, much, 🫣 I was sat on the edge of my seat expecting to go horribly wrong, pleased to see it went without any major drama. Keep up the great work.😎👍

      Yes, it will definitely make life much easier. I just need a little less stuff haha. Or more stuff put together.
      I had the engine thing worked out in my head and it seemed like it would go fine. Haha.

      @@LostCauseRanch Absolutely, pleased it came together in the end, an engine crane or the Bobcat might have been the safer option, just say 🤣👍

    Yup I am collecting parts too, Don't know why but it happens. Kalahari would be sweet to have here at the house and I would even do the head gasket myself. not afraid to turn a wrench here and there lmao. Keep the bob kitty you never know when you might need it.

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  9 месяцев назад +1

      I have no doubt you could tackle the Kalahari. And it’s just too easy to collect stuff haha.
      The bob kitty would be replaced. Either a tracked mini skid or back to a smaller Tractor loader backhoe like I had before now that the shop is up. It did serve its purpose though getting the shop together.

  • @derelict_wanderer
    @derelict_wanderer 9 месяцев назад +1

    Callaway in the Nada? Or something else? Agreed on keeping the Bobcat for future reno work around the place.

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  9 месяцев назад

      Hmmm.
      If the bobcat goes it will get replaces with another smaller TLB like I had before or a tracked mini skid that I can maneuver in the shop a little better.

    The best mod I put on my similar trailer was a hand crank strap winch. I did have to cut the center upright out that was in line with the tongue but I needed an excuse to booger weld two to replace it. I'd be a lost cause without out it as much as I get lawn tractors to fix and sell.

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  9 месяцев назад

      That is a good idea, would have been helpful. As you probably noticed I need to add fenders yet to the little guy, I started building that trailer right around when I originally got all those barstool parts (12ish years ago) haha. So I might have to add a hand crank winch mount too it before I paint it maybe it’s about time to finally finish it haha.
      Thanks!

    Would be a dream to bring that Kalahari back to road worthy condition. I am a young gear-head and would love to get info on the Kalahari as a first Land Rover project. That body style is timeless!

    Do not sell the bob kitty. Good lord those are worth their weight in gold. Do save that!!
    As for the Calloway engine.. drop that in the 109 in the back of the shop and get it driving..
    Keep the Kalahari and build another building ok the property! :-)

      On the bob kitty. If it goes it will be replaced. I’d like something tracked I think. Maybe a mini. Who knows.

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  9 месяцев назад +1

      It has the center resonator and muffler removed and an x pipe in place. The LR3 and LR4 will sound slightly different with that done but the LR3 sounds great as well.
