Wolfgang Von Zubaz According to CNN article, this ranking is true. (in October 2018): www.cnn.com/travel/article/most-powerful-passport-henley-index-2018/index.html
I appreciate the heartwarming and inspiring ending but visa limitations do for sure limit your sense of adventure. As a Peruvian passport holder my ability to just take trips impulsively even if I can afford it is severely limited.
Fred is aus the venision nope The Chinese middle class have a lot of disposable cash to spend but they have a visa problem too It’s about the country’s reputation Simple and most importantly international relations.
Fred is aus the venision well technically yes because with endless money you could buy all the visas. But for middle class people it makes a real difference
The thing is, while the German passport is really powerful, we can’t get into some of the most powerful countries visa free; countries whose citizens can get into Germany itself visa free because of that Schengen area thing, which I think is quite unfair. Germans have to apply for a visa for e.g. Australia and the US (which are really attractive places for German tourists), but Australians and Americans can simply visit for a whoppin’ 90 days without having to go through that visa thing as well.
That's true, I'd also question the method for calculating passport power - let's say one passport allows visa-free travel to USA, Russia and China, and the other one provides visa-free access to USA, Tuvalu, Bhutan and Vanuatu. According to the ranking of the video, the second passport would win (4 countries vs. 3), but it's obvious which of the listed countries are more popular for average tourist. So, if we summed not just number of countries, but summed the popularity of each, the first passport would win.
Dave Flynn Exactly, that’s the flaw with the German passport as well. We can travel to some small countries in the middle of nowhere which sounds nice at first, but considering that little to no Germans have ever been to those countries and that those countries on their own aren’t powerful either, it actually doesn’t make any sense to liken the power of those countries to the power of the world’s most influential and financially strong nations, as you already said. 🙌🏻
German passports have fake power. The countries you can travel to visa free on a German passport are kind of a joke. It's appreciated, don't get me wrong, but like you said, German's don't have access to influential countries without having to apply for a visa. The US made it a bit easier by introducing the ESTA program, so Germans can apply for it. It takes 10 minutes and costs $10 to be allowed to travel to the US without a visa obtained from the consulate. It's better than needing to go to the embassy, but it's still not visa free
The color indicates that is the part of the new world. Just like the green passport indicates islam and the red passport either the EU or communist countries
@Paul Li you're wrong. They look exactly the same(Chinese, Koreans, Japanese) just as Malaysians and Indonesians. The only difference is their culture and language.
With an EU passport, if you are ever in trouble in another country, you have 25 embassies in the country that will help you. For example, in Bangladesh Belgium does not have an embassy. However, a Belgian citizen has 8 European embassies that will consider them as their own citizens under European law.
I would question the method of calculating the power of particular passport from that ranking. It is very misleading. It only takes into account visa free access. It does not however take into account many other very important factors such as : 1) holders of particular passports may be banned completely to enter some countries e.g. Israeli passport which ranks high does not allow you to enter most of muslims countries in the world 2) how difficult, how long and how expensive is it is to obtain certain visa- some of them are just very simple to obtain- on arrival without any problem, some need months and tones of paperwork to obtain 3) how difficult is to obtain a passport- some countries severely limit or do not even allow most of their citizens to travel 4) certain passport allow their citizens not only to travel but also to settle in other countries without particular problems e.g. EU passports (which is in fact a real strength of the passport) 5) location, connections and how rich the citizens are- so real abilities of people to travel 6) foreign policy of the country- which may affect how the traveller is being treated in other country and how easily they can get help if necessary
ah sir when a country gets a visa free access to another country it directly depends on the above mentioned traits. If a country is poor its passport will be weak and if rich strong passport.

And if you are traveling by road or train you don't even need a document as there are no physical borders. Yet it's always recommended you have at least your ID with you when traveling abroad. If your country is part of the EU and you are traveling to another EU country you don't even need a passport, you can fly with you own ID from your country. And if you are traveling by road or train you don't even need a document as there are no physical borders. Yet it's always recommended you have at least your ID with you when traveling abroad. Appart from that you've got no idea how easy this makes to travel around Europe as you don't need to get permits or visas.
I come here to hear about Australian passport and I wasted 3 minutes and they didn’t even talked a second about Australia
Aussies are irrelevant
What about Chinese passport? I believe it’s even more useless than Afghanistan’s. I have a Chinese passport and I once got stuck in the airport during a school trip to Singapore because my teacher didn’t even think about Chinese need visa for Singapore.
傻逼自己没脑子还怪起护照了
you from china?
are Chinese passports "made in china"?
xaxam lac idk if that’s a joke or a legit question
@@gwenaronimacaroni1136 Legit question. I was trying to understand why when almost everything is made in China, its passport cannot be powerful. It's the second most powerful economy ! Just that the powers that be are scared. No?
Thankyou for mentioning little NZ. Often we are missed lol.
0:24 Bangladesh passport colour is green because of national flag is green.
So, it's more nationalism than religious.
Thank you
Any Canadians?
@Inshal U it's because we require visas to enter Canada from so many countries...and I'm ok with that...
Hi
You not getting any subs dude
Canadian here!! From Montreal, Quebec! Where are you from?🇨🇦🇨🇦
@@timewalker6654 i really couldn't think of a username so i just used this
Singapore says, "Hi."
the power of passport is not about where you can go, it's about your country can bring you home from anywhere
Only thing to meature how strong of your passport is ur financial and money conditions to support you go places.
I’m a United States 🇺🇸 citizen and I can enter 185 nations visa free and visa on arrival. But my parents r former Indian citizens, and everyone in my family has a document called Overseas Citizens of India 🇮🇳 which allows us to visit India 🇮🇳 visa free.
I just got my passport in the mail today and this video came up in my suggestions 👀
They're watching you
This is why I love being a Singaporean
Yea! SINGAPORE STRONK
Great video ! Nice work
Hey i have South Korean passport:)

"Britain joined the European union in 1973" funniest thing I've heard today
What's so funny about it? It is true, you know.
#FYI: Nepal and india have mutual free access to each other
What about Nepal and Bhutan?
that's like with Canada and the United states
They are having a dispute now
My passport says I can travel to >150 countries, but my wallet says it can do 1
Nepal is not Islamic country. . its colour is not in green . fake information
newar crestha vlogs this video is very poorly made , please don't take anything in this video as a fact
Malaysia is red. Hahhahaa.
*most Islamic countries have green. Video doesn't say that all countries with green passport have to be islamic.....
@@1JAKY its blueish greenish
Nepal is a hindu nation 😂
Every person should have the same passport. Why if you are from Afghanistan you got less opportunities than who's from Germany? That's a shame!
Russian passport -10
No! They have North Korea,Africa and Venezuela
@@romische2753 africa! Seriously?
@@Ccirgrg north african countries are not as bad as the rest of african countries
Brazilian passport -164
we are not allowed to leave Brazil
Russia doesn't need passports, they use tanks if they want to enter visa-free.
As of 9 October 2018, Indian citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 60 countries and territories, and ranking the Indian passport 81st in terms of travel freedom according to the Henley Passport Index. Do your research properly.
Gives a neutral image for other countries and then get slobs for the UK and US.
Please have some measure of self respect.
Wanderer628 You sound a bit triggered lmao
I'm Singapore and hold a singaporean passport:D
But I have no money D:
lol, relate.
But I'm broke, and Plane tickets are extra expansive in NZ because of how far away we are from countries!
Yep, Stuck in the middle of the ocean, family tickets (Family of 5 usually) to aussie is normally 300+
Ofcourse i dont fully know, but plane tickets are expenive as
I feel you.....
same
The moment when you realize your password is one of the weakest, that you have to get a visa to got to the next store .
Here you are considering only visa free, but visa on arrival is exactly the same thing, you just get your entry permit on arrival, so basically is still visa free.
The Henley Passport Index is the Official Ranking recognised by IATA. As per 2022:
1 Japan, Singapore (192 countries)
2 Germany, South Korea (189 countries)
3 Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain (188 countries)
I was hoping for an answer, since I'm from Greenland...
Yay! We started off with New Zealand!
The Queen is the most powerful passport herself 😂😂
Right now? I used it as a door stop is it's pretty powerful against strong winds.
I'm from Singapore so I guess my passport is powerful
But Singaporeans don't have home
having an Algerian passport is like being cursed at death we can go visa free to 3 or 4 real countries and maybe 20 island countries.. we basically can't go to europe since european countries never gives us visa no matter what social statue u've got guess that's the cost of being african and muslim
Yep unfortunately .Our country is poor and does not seem to progress at all .
I saw this country suffer way too much to keep it on
Try being Syrian
Be proud of your nationality and religion, remember that Algerians can make their country the best in the world.
Be proud of who you are because that what makes you unique
🙁
Didn't know my passport was the strongest in the world (Korean)
Well the amount of countries a passport can access changes, whether its from an agreement between two countries for visa free access or when a country cancels visa free access from other countries like Belarus who denied about 30+ countries from accessing it a number of years ago.
So make sure to check the numbers occasionally. I'm Singaporean BTW
*South Korean also it's actually the second strongest.
My arstotzka
@@travelleryu it keeps on changing but right now korean is the most powerful one
Andrew Park I love Korea man, such an amazing culture and society! I’d love to visit Seoul one day, I met this dude from college in Texas and he invited me over, he lives in that neighborhood with the song name, I think it was Gangnham or something like that, love from Texas
I hold an Australian passport . I have traveled extensively , let me tell you , that thing is like pure gold
Passport strength reflects how well that country is accepted and viewed by the global community. As a South Korean I am just so proud that we went from one of the poorest, war torn country in 1950s to this. We are a strong nation full of educated intelligent people 🇰🇷🔥
I've read *PASSWORD*
i'm south korean .🇰🇷
Oh wow! Congrats on been born somewhere
So?
So what
Feel shame?
Everyone always forgets Canada exists lol
India has visa free pp with nepal also not only Bhutan.
It's not visa... It's passport free..
@@logan_RoyalEnfield oh , sorry!

Anyone From Afghanistan? Even with our Passport we don't have access to the most of countries, But with this Afghanistan passport I travel around the world. Earth belongs to god no one can set boundaries for me!
Михаил Иванов say that to border control, dude.
@@ondramarko1268 I don't think so
@A Sharaawy no bro I travel with my Afghanistan passport Europe and Asian countries without their Visa.
Михаил Иванов you sure about that?you must certainly need a visa to enter. if you have extensive travel history, some countries/regions can grant you a visa that lasts multiple years so you won't have to apply for one every time.
As illegal he means))
And why russian name? Свой что ли?
Is no one going to point out that the logo in the top left is basically the fly Emirates logo
Yugoslavia used to be visa free east and west
I've got one of the most powerful passports in the world! (South Korea 😎)
Be careful don't let this power consume you, use it wisely.
The first 10 seconds .... " You can tell a lot about a nation from their passport " wtf like not even.
That statement assumes ALL citizens in a country hold a passport. That is not true!! Counterexamples include Canada and USA. Do ALL Canadian and American citizens have a passport? If not, then they are not citizens in their countries?
i have an india passport which was worthless but now its gaining strenght , and now if u have a valid USA UK Canada visa a lot more countries give entry
