Transcript:- Question: Would you please make a definite statement about the non-existence of reincarnation since increasing 'scientific evidence' is now being accumulated to prove reincarnation is a fact. I am concerned because I see large numbers of people beginning to use this evidence to further strengthen a belief they already have, which enables them to escape problems of living and dying. Is it not your responsibility to be clear, direct and unequivocal on this matter instead of hedging round the issue? We will be very definite. The idea of reincarnation existed long before Christianity. It is prevalent almost throughout India and probably in the whole Asiatic world. Firstly: what is it that incarnates; not only incarnates now, but reincarnates again and again? Secondly: the idea of there being scientific evidence that reincarnation is true, is causing people to escape their problems and that causes the questioner concern. Is he really concerned that people are escaping? They escape through football or going to church. Put aside all this concern about what other people do. We are concerned with the fact, with the truth of reincarnation; and you want a definite answer from the speaker. What is it that incarnates, is reborn? What is it that is living at this moment, sitting here? What is it that is taking place now to that which is in incarnation? And when one goes from here, what is it that is actually taking place in our daily life, which is the living movement of incarnation - one's struggles, one's appetites, greeds, envies, attachments - all that? Is it that which is going to reincarnate in the next life? Now those who believe in reincarnation, believe they will be reborn with all that they have now - modified perhaps - and so carry on, life after life. Belief is never alive. But suppose that belief is tremendously alive, then what you are now matters much more than what you will be in a future life. in the Asiatic world there is the word 'karma' which means action in life now, in this period, with all its misery, confusion, anger, jealousy, hatred, violence, which may be modified, but will go on to the next life. So there is evidence of remembrance of things past, of a past life. That remembrance is the accumulated 'me', the ego, the personality. That bundle, modified, chastened, polished a little bit, goes on to the next life. So it is not a question of whether there is reincarnation (I am very definite on this matter, please) but that there is incarnation now; what is far more important than reincarnation, is the ending of this mess, this conflict, now. Then something totally different goes on. Being unhappy, miserable, sorrow-ridden, one says: "I hope the next life will be better". That hope for the next life is the postponement of facing the fact now. The speaker has talked a great deal to those who believe in and have lectured and written about reincarnation, endlessly. It is part of their game. I say, "All right, Sirs, you believe in it all. If you believe, what you do now matters". But they are not interested in what they do now, they are interested in the future. They do not say: "I believe and I will alter my life so completely that there is no future". Do not at the end of this say that I am evading this particular question; it is you who are evading it. I have said that the present life is all-important; if you have understood and gone into it, with all the turmoil of it, the complexity of it - end it, do not carry on with it. Then you enter into a totally different world. I think that is clear, is it not? I am not hedging. You may ask me: "Do you believe in reincarnation?" Right? I do not believe in anything. This is not an evasion I have no belief and it does not mean that I am an atheist, or that I am ungodly. Go into it, see what it means. It means that the mind is free from all the entanglements of belief. In the literature of ancient India there is a story about death and incarnation. For a Brahmin it is one of the ancient customs and laws, that after collecting worldly wealth he must at the end of five years give up everything and begin again. A certain Brahmin had a son and the son says to him, "You are giving all this away to various people, to whom are you going to give me away; to whom are you sending me?" The father said, "Go away, I am not interested". But the boy comes back several times and the father gets angry and says, "I am going to send you to Death" - and being a Brahmin he must keep his word. So he sends him to Death. On his way to Death the boy goes to various teachers and finds that some say there is reincarnation, others say there is not. He goes on searching and eventually he comes to the house of Death. When he arrives, Death is absent. (A marvellous implication, if you go into it.) Death is absent. The boy waits for three days. On the fourth day, Death appears and apologizes. He apologizes because the boy was a Brahmin; he says, "I am sorry to have kept you waiting and in my regret I will offer you three wishes. You can be the greatest king, have the greatest wealth, or you can be immortal". The boy says, "I have been to many teachers and they all say different things. What do you say about death and what happens afterwards?" Death says: "I wish I had pupils like you; not concerned about anything except that". So he begins to tell him about truth, about the state of life in which there is no time

In my previous life I believed in reincarnation, but not in this life. That is a joke, but there is truth in jokes. There is differences between lifes, otherwise what is the point? So how can that be the same me? That can only be true if I am somehow both (or all) lives, not one or the other. And that means I didn´t reincarnate, I cannot reincarnate as part of myself. Therefore reincarnation does not exist. At least not in the way people believe in it. The pattern of life manifests, if you want that to be called reincarnation, then that is totally fine. Words don´t mean anything to the pattern of life.
Satan Vo-Lucifer Vo _ That's a valid point he makes...most of those who listen to k talk like him, they despise at the word guru without knowing what it really is ...they despise following etc without knowing they themselves are "following " k unconsiouly when they imitate him...
would you ever imitate and "follow" like that anyone, do you ever compare yourself to anyone? so that means you do not know who you are and do not know about "ego" etc. etc. and do not know on love.... (or not yet).... really it is all up to you, up to each one of us to simply not be dishonest and not to corrupt our inner integrity, not become big ego inside of us that is simply shutting down our access to light.... and the psychological recording keeps on influencing you but you are not conscious of it because you never gave it any sincere attention.... and how about the quality of your life then and how does this affect the world as such, are you aware of the limitation your conditioning puts you in.... how can you be aware if you never look yourself... and find out how you can change and do not wait for someone else to do this for you...., look at the content of your consciousness....., anyway: just never do anything without love in it
musicminded64 Of course there is still self centred activity in me...but one thing I can say clearly ...by wanting to uncondition , k is conditioning in his own way....perhaps that level of conditioning is good, necessary and inevitable. Reincarnation, Guru etc these are the things that needs lots and lots of deep perception , in today's world , may be it is better to stay away from those who offer something etc...but the real meaning of guru is entirely different ...what k is doing by talking to us ? He is trying to disperse the darkness , which is literally what guru means...but the word has been attached with so much distortion that it is better to not use that word....it is just like the word God ...or sannaysin or even the word duality
but also "K" always insists we must 'find out for ourselves' and not simply agree or be like so to say "disciple" (of which we also could say that word is not understood by many, though certainly "K" understood it).... anyway: because it all is 'not' theoretical...!! ---- of course he was and is a teacher, but.... a friend, as the word teacher may carry some "authority" and "K" always insisted that that is truly not what is meant and he ("K" so to speak) really did not like to be "worshipped" in any way,, so.... therefore this is the space for us to truly find out for ourselves and if we do can disagree or find different etc. also, it is about 'actively finding out ourselves for ourselves'.... yet in all we must consciously love, or else we listen to him and see in ourselves.... etc. 'because' we are in this world together but not many were/are like "K"... if any ---- at least when I listen to him, when I listen to "K", at least i feel certain that he is not trying to sell me anything or to mislead me or that he is preaching falseness, i can for myself with hundred percent certainty say that he is not a so to say 'false teacher" like so many and he is not promising us some "reward", it is not about that and i do not need that.... i just want to be here and now and share etc. in a genuine precisely uncorrupted way, and "K" is not a liar, not a soothsayer or how to say this. I feel Krishnamurti is an honest sincere man (even so he "passed away"), a human being, who feels like a most dear friend and that way he is equal level, a friend who does not want to distract or betray me when i have questions on life or when i just want to level "my innermost self" in this too often still insane violent deceptive egocentric divisive world we are in-- and so if i just want to be with someone in a most healthy and wholesome way and i do not have to explain myself, just get 'my inner truth' reflected and there is solution of conflict etc. 'period'. ----and there is simply love how love is meant to be.
musicminded64 of course all genuine "Gurus" don't claim to be one and they don't say " follow me"... guru is just a word and teacher is just another word , theosophical if you will. I understand k understands all this, for example, when I read his biography, he seems to be totally a different person when he goes deep into these questions of gurus sannyasis etc...i agree k does not want any attention let alone worshipping ...

Whatever he says but it’s true that you reincarnate and it’s also true that right now you are one will the whole. So it’s like shiva the one who is but also the one who is not. It’s all nothingness. If my answer doesn’t resonate with you then just let it go brother. Yes but you have rebirth but don’t believe me do your own seeking for which is not in your experience is all assumption.
I feel like there is no individual soul that reincarnates. Ego dies with the body. So all the identity is lost. What continues (imho) is simply pure awareness which then develops through another identity. So its not you per se but still a new perspective comes, as its impossible to experience nothingness, and from that "nothingness" you have arisen and are here.
He says first think about your incarnation now and see that it is full of suffering and unfulfiment and end it now. What’s the point of postponing it for reincarnation? That’s all he says. He also adds when you end it by ending the “self”, you see a different dimension of experience of life. So clearly he’s talking about ending the “self” and not asking you to die physically.
I have researched J.K for a long time. All I have found is that JK doesn´t accept, doesn´t realize anything beyond the physical brain which produces thought. He separates brain from mind and says that mind is "universal", but not "personal". According to him, we are not individuals. He states always that thought is a material process, and is produced in the brain, and I never heard him saying that anything, awareness or such a thing survives after death. He says also that God is a human creation based on belief, and all beliefs comes from fear and ignorance. So I think his phylosophy is physicalist. For him, there´s no such a thing as an afterlife, nor anything which survives after the physical death, or otherwise, he doesn´t affirm nor denies.
@@sadhwani83 Please, do your own research, by watching his thousands videos and listening carefuly to what he says about any subject possible. No turn the task easier, search for example: "Krishnamurti and death" or "Krishnamurti and god" "Krishnamurti on reincarnation", and watch every video on this channel. @@DihelsonMendonca what about 8:22 in this video? ... "So there is evidence of remembrance of things past, of a past life. That remembrance is the accumulated 'me', the ego, the personality."
You are.right. He only analyses the present world, current thoughts and beliefs and finally leaves every one to lay the boundaries of morality for himself. After listening to his various speeches, can any one honestly say, that, on the thinking or intellectual plane, ( I am avoiding the term spiritual) he has been able to advance a bit ? It is customary in every analysis of an issue, to consider its implications on social, cultural , legal and societal fields. And then express his opinion with necessary logic and evidence to reinforce his point of view. Instead he completely skips the main body and goes on the periphery of the issue which obiliterates, the nexus between the question and answer. It could also be my shallowness of intellect in not being able to understand him and his talk will find resonance only to greater minds ? To carry conviction with the audience, one has to take the questionnaire head on and leave no stone unturned in analysing the different facets hidden below and express an unambiguous position he holds . This is totally missing.
If i may kindly point to you out, you have get him wrong completely :) he says that he doesn't believe because a belief can either be truth or false, it is not a fact, it's mutable just as the technological world is. So, he encourages us to SEE inside of us , face with our thoughts , observe in silence, not just stick to ideas and believes , see the truth and only the truth, so then with pure minds and pure hearts we can talk about God, reincarnation and all that. Also , because thought is never sacred, it is a matter, a physical body , then how can we learn about sacred and the holiness, non-physical ,through the physical ? How can we know God, which is timeless and eternal, if we are full of ego which brings disorder in one's life i.e. through thought which is limited ? Go carefully into what he is saying, as he says here "I don't believe in God " , which means , metaphorically , he doesn't just believe in God according to someone else's words and realizations, but he has DISCOVER God, his ego has vanished , he is a pure being and therefore a true divine creation. And yes , there is an excerpt on Instagram profile of K. Foundation Trust where K. says that : ( i'll paraphrase ) The true meaning of men's life is to discover God. When we really learn to love our wife, husband, children and neighbors than we'll stop all the violence . That is possible only when the '' me '' ceases to be. 🙂
if there IS the mortal there IS the immortal,Life IS immortal,if death were permanent how could there be LIFE?The mortal gives the immortal a 3 dimensional existence that IS REAL!Both come together are not separate like Light and Dark, evening and morning all come together to make Life possible both mortal and immortal. We don't know what form the future will have!
This gentleman was not exposed to scriptures or any existing thoughts. This inference I draw observing his story telling at end of this video. He is quoting a story from Kathopanishat. But you can see his ignorance. Due to the fact that he was not exposed to any existing thoughts, he has to invent even the wheel. But person was genuinely intelligent which allowed him to amass so much knowledge. I do not see too much new knowledge as compared to say upanishads or ashtavakra Geeta etc. But with the handicap of starting all afresh, this much knowledge is amazing.
All of you are talking about thing claiming they are something no one knows or that something was imagined or made up yet all of you seem to be saying things that you made up and do not know are true. Good luck to all of you.
Lol do you know about this gentleman? He can write thoudands of scriptures for you because he had real exposure and experience. He is not intrested ranting scriptures, he wanted mankind to explore themselves and see what lies actually beyond. Believing everything written in scripture won't change a dam thing in you
I think the Buddha would have seen likewise. But the Buddha was also realistic enough to know that because the habitual sense of self, ego, is so strong and pervasive, very few would be free of it - however one may put it. An intellectual understanding of the Buddha's teachings would not suffice, and it's not at all clear what crucial factor would be needed for the breakthrough. Deep silence? But the ego may be silent for a while, and later manifest itself in not so obvious ways. Some people catch a glimpse of another dimension without formal training, without any intentions, without even caring; others do not, although they've had years of training, are serious enough and care quite a bit. It's not easy to say what the crucial factor is. Is karma involved? Who knows. At any rate, the Buddha was realistic enough to know that many people would require lifetimes, even though a breakthrough may well happen here and now.
The Buddha could have just simply said: "People people people look here, let me tell you all something. This whole goddamn thing is you, there is no escape other than knowing that, and good luck to you. Oh,and once you understand this is all you-you will then have to play nice with yourself when it doesn't play nice with you, peace out." -Sidd
@@ronalddash6520 He often said that he doesn´t believe in God and Soul. In Madras, a person asked for the soul and he even made a joke: "What soul ( Sole ), sole of the shoe ?"
@@DihelsonMendoncaYes. What’s the use of believing in soul? First of all no two people define soul the same way. Christians say it is an individual spirit and is unique to individual. Hindus say it Atman and it is impersonal. Buddhists say it is non-self and its nature is emptiness. What’s the point of belief? Belief is nothing but sticking to an idea or a concept and calling it truth. Truth doesn’t work that way. Truth is beyond belief.
He did answer the question. Infact very precisely if you watch the video or read the transcript posted as a comment below carefully. It just didn’t fit your idea of an answer so you make these comments justifying your own limitation.

At least not in the way people believe in it. The pattern of life manifests, if you want that to be called reincarnation, then that is totally fine. Words don´t mean anything to the pattern of life.
Just out of curiosity, so we can just commit suicide or maximize pleasure as it s just a pattern that will end at a certain point?
@@jswootheblackscreen no, suicide has a grave consequences because a person who kills himself interrupt his experience

Escape through... going to listen to Krishnamurti.
Satan Vo-Lucifer Vo _
That's a valid point he makes...most of those who listen to k talk like him, they despise at the word guru without knowing what it really is ...they despise following etc without knowing they themselves are "following " k unconsiouly when they imitate him...
would you ever imitate and "follow" like that anyone, do you ever compare yourself to anyone? so that means you do not know who you are and do not know about "ego" etc. etc. and do not know on love.... (or not yet).... really it is all up to you, up to each one of us to simply not be dishonest and not to corrupt our inner integrity, not become big ego inside of us that is simply shutting down our access to light.... and the psychological recording keeps on influencing you but you are not conscious of it because you never gave it any sincere attention.... and how about the quality of your life then and how does this affect the world as such, are you aware of the limitation your conditioning puts you in.... how can you be aware if you never look yourself... and find out how you can change and do not wait for someone else to do this for you...., look at the content of your consciousness....., anyway: just never do anything without love in it
musicminded64
Of course there is still self centred activity in me...but one thing I can say clearly ...by wanting to uncondition , k is conditioning in his own way....perhaps that level of conditioning is good, necessary and inevitable.
Subtitles is needed ....
Is there any way we could get a chance to translate all the lectures of J. Krishnamurti in Bulgarian? There is no translations and people should hear all of them.
Dear Daniela, thank you for your message. We have a network of volunteers who translate Krishnamurti's videos into different languages, but no active translators for Bulgarian. If you would like to help with this activity, please get in touch with us at digital@kfoundation.org. By the way we have two videos with Bulgarian subtitles, you can watch them here: ruclips.net/p/PL1n30s-LKus6aXExuvCCgoqBZuhfueiO-

Can anyone tell me in brief what krishnamurti is trying to say
About rebirth Is it truth or myth?
@@f4ucorsair153 so you can say dead is dead ^^ nothing after it
He says first think about your incarnation now and see that it is full of suffering and unfulfiment and end it now.

@dihelson mendonca - do you mind sharing your notes of your research on him?
@@sadhwani83 Please, do your own research, by watching his thousands videos and listening carefuly to what he says about any subject possible. No turn the task easier, search for example: "Krishnamurti and death" or "Krishnamurti and god" "Krishnamurti on reincarnation", and watch every video on this channel. After some more than 500 videos watched, you have a very "basic" understanding about JK phylosophy. At least in the essencial points. And if you find any video of him affirming that reincarnation, or afterlife, or God exist, PLEASE, let me know the link.
"""Also look I need my life ... So completely there is no futher..""

But with the handicap of starting all afresh, this much knowledge is amazing.
scriptures are available to all of us, what good has come of it? clearly parroting things we don't understand is a useless practice.
Believing everything written in scripture won't change a dam thing in you
Actually he was very educated. He studied religion, politics and ocultism. He also founded a lot of schools.
"K" is simply asking us to observe the very question and all..He is not agreeing or disagreeing...

The Buddha could have just simply said:
"People people people look here, let me tell you all something. This whole goddamn thing is you, there is no escape other than knowing that, and good luck to you. Oh,and once you understand this is all you-you will then have to play nice with yourself when it doesn't play nice with you, peace out." -Sidd
And WHO SAYS people are trying to escape? You just assume escape is the only goal.
Somewhere else he said that no one knows the answer of the questions as to what happens after death and whether God exists or not.
Yes. He was referring to all the people. Not him. There are very very few people who know.

Malcolm Browning in fact the real issue is no man born in this mortal frame can definitively answer all questions. This is why Hindus consider the scriptures as author less ie Vedas they are said to be time less as well I am afraid we are all puppets stuck in a matrix of illusion
the only way to know that is if you believe yourself to be an absolute authority......
