Canon Wasn't The First To Do This

- A lot of people are mad at Canon lately. The Canon Cripple Hammer runs around the factory, knocking features out of their cameras. The RF lens lineup is very unbalanced with either super expensive and heavy lenses, or utterly disappointing budget primes and kit lenses. Then Canon had the gull to ban 3rd party lens manufacturers from making autofocusing lenses for their RF system. Well, how come no one is talking about the other companies who do the same thing?
If you buy today's gear through my affiliate links, 3rd party lens manufacturers will ban Canon from making cameras for their lenses.

Did I miss the brand and model of selfie stick you were using? Do you really like it? Recommendation? Thx.
The slo-mo segment was class. 😂
The cinema was his for a moment. True art.
Just so you know, the Viltrox ordeal was not the first time for Canon RF. Samyang 85/1.4 AF was the first time I noticed this happening. It was released and then after one initial batch it was scrapped thanks to an army of Canon lawyers.
I have always used third party lenses. They provide either the price point or the features that OEM lenses just don't give me. And I adore vintage. When a manufacturer tries to restrict me, I restrict them.
I'm the total opposite, I would never put 3rd party lens on my camera just like I never put after market parts on my car.
@@JetBen555 You are conflating very different subjects. For example I use genuine Toyota parts to replace worn out standard parts, but Toyota does not make off road equipment such as CB two-way radio, extended shock absorbers, deep-cycle third battery, solar panels for extended camping, pump for air-power tools, etc etc. For those sorts of things all serious off-roaders have to buy and install third party accessories. When you are hundreds of miles into the desert third party parts can be a life-saver.
Same with cameras. There are many things that OEM's do very well, but good luck finding a Sony branded tilt/shift lens for a Sony. Only choice is to adapt third party T/S to Sony. Major manufacturers do not make probe lenses, so Laowa is the only choice.
Plus, when getting artistic modern lenses tend to be too clinical, and the look that you could get with say a 1970's Pentax, or a 1980's FD lens can only be found by using those lenses. This is how you get a distinctive look to your photographs and video. I would always use OEM for basics such as batteries and the basic kinds of lenses, but restricting myself to just OEM lenses is like being in a creative prison in which all kinds of lens types are forbidden. That is too restrictive for me.
@@JetBen555 There is no reason not to use third party glass. Is it going to hurt your precious or something?
@@JetBen555 your trying to make the point that a 3rd party lens could damage your camera?
Cause you seem really aggressive on that making a strong argument about all 3rd party brands make downgrades. That's absolutely not true, of course there's some, but there's 3rd party brands that make replacement parts that fix a faulty with the default piece (that on a car or camera could be make for the manufacturer or not, sensor or switches and bearings or ecu). So I'm really sure it will happen again, in a product as complex as a car that so many different suppliers provide you stuff for so many years of the production cicle. How many parts have a camera including all the pieces soldered to the pcb? And a car? Suppliers could change through the years maybe in a rush cause stock problems, not having time enough to run all the test they want to.
I understand that there's some brands that have earned the reputation of doing things properly and consistently. But there are 3rd party brands on that list as well. As well first party brands that make incredible product and then have their line-up of crap with the same name on it. Whe have to be honest with reality both examples exist and they will continue happening way before whe are all dead.
By the way it's not just 3rd party lens Canon already downgrade Android connection features and change the source code so Magic Lantern couldn't release their software. I mean you could use only 1st party for whatever reason you think (I don't think your wrong if you are making an informed decision) but you cannot deny users are loosing freedom. Even if you don't use this particular features you never know when they gonna come for you cause they really screaming at your face: I don't care about your, did you see that 👉📈?
That's why I'm moving from Canon to other manufacturer next system I buy, cause I don't approve this behavior and I don't want to found it with my money.
Watch out we got a badass over here
I was among those calling for Canon's head on a pole, while shaking a rusty pitchfork and holding a torch (strange in these days of electricity). But when the so-called speculative specifications for the Canon R5 Mark II came out, my knees buckled and I begged the bearer of the mighty cripple hammer for forgiveness. I groveled, I licked his shoes clean, and sat in silent shame.
That turn at 11:09 was the smoothest thing I've ever seen.
Was thinking the same 👏
That cinematic sparrow @ 8:35 made the 3rd party lens rant super bearable.
Idk man I went through with selling all my Canon stuff and fully switching over to Sony when they announced no 3rd party support. But It was kinda the final straw not the leading factor. It wouldn't be as big of a deal if Canon had midrange options in the RF mount. The fact that you either get absolute trash or $2k + lenses just doesn't work out for most people. They look to 3rd party for those midrange options if the camera manufacturer doesn't have them.
Dude right?? It's 24-105 f4-7.1 is like a sick joke but then the 24-50 f4.5-6.3 comes out and Canon fans are literally like, "it's only $300, it's a good deal!" What the hell is wrong with everyone? Sold my canon body and 2 lenses, working on selling the last couple. Switched to Panasonic. I shot Canon for 10 years - those jabronis need a wake-up call because they're going the way of cable tv and going to profiteer themselves out of business one day.
@@karikaru I really would love if canon "kills" their RF mount as well with their greed - affordable 2nd hand 100-500L etc for my R7
Until that day i enjoy adapted glass (good glass canon and 3rd party!) and a still very awesome RF 800 F11 lens which is better than many expect
I also dont find much at the RF mount... the RF-S 18-150 for travel and "kit lens usage" at best, but i had it with the R7 kit and sold it after vacation, or:
RF 50 1.8
RF 35 1.8 (tho it gets expensive a bit)
RF 24 (for the crop users who want effective 35mm)
RF 100-400 for the light and small APS-C camera birder (so R7 or R10 mainly, for full frame not enough reach)
Anything else is much too expensive to be worth it, or even worse than their EF counterparts (RF 70-200 dust pump vs SEALED EF 70-200 2.8 Mk3, both have the SAME sharpness, EF just bigger since its an internal zoom)
That is the perfect comment.
What shortsightedness. It's just a matter of time before sony leapfrogs them. Nikon too. That's what competition does. it gives US, the consumers WAY better products and deals. That's WHY it's so important NOT to restrict third party. You actually just proved why the restriction is bad. Sony jumping into the mirrorless game makes canon have to up their own game. People need to stop being so shortsighted.
The birds and kasey slo-mo sections had me giggling with delight. The music was so perfect. Thanks for bringing me so much joy through your video Magic.
The music playing during the slow motion clips was perfect
I feel like a dog and my owner is talking to me about cameras when we go for a walk
Those slow motion shots were glorious!!! It was like watching the best action movies I've ever seen but with modern color science. 80% more science.
You blinded me. With science.
Bodies come and go, glass is forever. It depends on whether you're doing imaging that requires the tech, or not. The only video I do is youth sports analytics videos taken through a 10 yo stabilized lens from a tripod. My personal imaging is still photography taken on lenses going back to as much as 1976. The product work uses a lens made in ~2002. It isn't something I usually worry, or care, about.
Looks like you were the sole Canadian vlogger out today making content. The other 419 people were in their studios making content.
i liked the EF sigma and tamron options mostly because it either let prices of canon glass adapt. Or bring canon to release their competitors to whatever those third parties came up with.
In fairness, Nikon isn't really worth talking about no matter what they do.
8:28 great bird slo-mo
That was a good one. I almost believed you while you were defending Canon. But then I saw the Canon hammer in the top left corner (just for a brief moment, you have to pay attention, and watch the video a couple of times).
This is the real conspiracy.
Alright, this is what happens when a third party manufacturer makes a better lens then the first party (or second party). If Tamron is a 3rd party, then canon is the 1st party, who is the 2nd party. Shouldn't Tamron, Tokina, CZ and Sigma be the 2nd party. Anyway thats the side note.........
Sigma made the 400mm f/5.6 Telemacro lens in just about everybody's lens mount back in the late 90's early 2000's. It turned out that it was waaaaaay better than Canons 400mm f/5.6 L lens which was discontinued in 2021 and a top notch lens. So Canon simply developed a new secondary auto focus protocol for their digital cameras and the lens cannot work on any Canon DSLR EXCEPT the 1DX. The 1DX runs two lens auto focus protocols. But it works just fine on Pentax, Nikon and Sony/Minolta A-mount (and probably on their A to E adapters).
Canon is the worst offender with the EF and EF-S mount that had a huge protrusion that meant it could not used on a Canon Full Frame dslr. Canon's M mount and RF mount with the same M-mount lenses that have the RF mount attached is just plain ridiculous. Canon is ridiculous. The exact same lenses for apsc m-mount and rf-mount, just different mounts - just to stop the consumer from switching from Canon to Canon ........Canon can go get F'd (And I don't like swearing). Stopping their customers from using their own 1st party lenses on their own 1st party products, to create planned obsolescence, aka "Creative Destruction".
I would disagree with Casey on the Zeiss/Sony lenses. Sony were not too confident in their own products, so they outsourced a 3rd party to make lenses. The Zeiss lenses first came out back in Sony's dslr/dslt days, and they're apparently pretty sweet. Sony struggled to get professionals over to their dslr/dslt range and the Zeiss partnership was that carrot. Sony E-mount continued this as the Zeiss carrot to entice professionals. Canon had L lenses, Nikon has its "pro" range, Pentax has its "limited" and also "DA*" and "DFA*" lens ranges. So Sony back i dslr days need its primo line of lenses and wrangled Zeiss into doing the job, but I do not think it was enough to make people switch. Sony dslr and slt was pretty ordinary. Now Sony has matured into a class leader in mirrorless, and they don't need Zeiss anymore, and can reinvest its camera sales profits into making their own lens range which they stupidly call "Giant Mongrel" or something like that. Is it "Grand Master Bud", or Gee Master as in the G in the masonic lodge that is a big golden G for their god who is the god of freemasonry which is satan. Sony pays homage on their lenses to satan the big G lower case god, and calls him master.
3rd party lenses are absolutely necessary, but why. Who can afford a camera setup? A FF camera body is anywhere from $2000 to $3000 and up, and a decent 50mm 1.4 is $1500. How many fridges and washing machines and clothes dryers can you buy with that sort of money? I don't look at a lens as in as much as I look at how much I paid for my fridge and washing machine. I paid $750 for my washing machine brand new, and I've bought lenses for a little more than that. The most I've paid for a lens was $1000 (I paid $1100 for my fridge). Now I get far more use out of my fridge and washing machine then I get out of all of my lenses which when you add them all up is probably a lot. So when people who want to shoot pictures and need to buy a telephoto and their sons violin recital is coming up, and little Johny needs some snazzy clothes for the recital, dad can't buy the $1000 lens. He has to make do with a plastic nifty fifty or the cheaper 3rd party models.............
A lot of people have far greater pressing priorities then buying double or three times as much for the 1st party lens over the 3rd party lens. And if those people didn't have access to a 3rd party lens maker and couldn't put a small kit together on the cheap using 3rd party lenses, then they might not even bother buying a camera all together. If you can buy a camera body for $800 and 3 third party lenses for $1000 or just one 1st party lens for $800 or $900 then, they'll go for the 3rd party lens trio. Its better for the camera maker to at least make one sale then no sale.
But Pentax was sort of sneaky in the early days of digital. They got in bed with Tokina to make lenses and Pentax designed the 11-17mm fisheye, 16-50mm DA* 2.8 and 50-135mm DA* 2.8, and these three lenses were availible in Nikon and Canon mount. Mind you they weren't as sharp as the Pentax version. But in exchange Tokina gave Pentax the 12-24 DA f/4. Tokina also has the Pentax designed 100mm 2.8 macro. So Pentax sort of was a 3rd party lens designer via Tokina. Then Pentax uses Tamron to make the 15-30mm 2.8 and 24-70mm 2.8. Pentax's 50mm DFA* f/1.4 is also the Tokina Opera 50mm f/1.4 for Canon and Nikon mount, so they still cooperate. When you look at a lot of older vintage lenses, some seem to share focal lengths and design cues with lenses from other brands, as if they were the exact same lens built by 3rd party manufacturers for 1st party companies...........
I think the door swings both ways as camera companies work with 3rd party lens makers. We might see Nikon downsizing their manufacturing and getting 3rd party lens makers to make more and more of their lenses just like Pentax. Pentax probably makes far too many lenses, which is whats good about the brand as its not like Canon or Nikon that just have trinity zooms and trinity primes and then big telephotos. Pentax has a mix of lens styles. Nikon has kept much older lenses in production for some strange reason.
Vintage lenses are mostly complete garbage. There's a tonne of youtube channels dedicated to older lenses and they hype up older lenses and people frenzy over that old junk and now they're all getting extremely over priced. Old vintage lenses have poorer contrast and more aberrations that are bad. Don't get me wrong there are some fine older lenses. Even Ken Wheeler described the Pentax Takumar 50mm f/1.4 as one of the top ten greatest lenses of all time, and I have that lens in auto focus Pentax-FA 50mm 1.4. Its a fine lens but the Pentax DFA* 50mm 1.4 has surpassed it, along with the Zeiss 55mm 1.4 Otus (Even the older Pentax 55mm 1.4 surpassed the Takumar or auto focus F and FA 50mm 1.4)...........
Vintage lenses should be dirt cheap, but they're not any more because madness has taken over. Many lenses from 10-15 years ago have been surpassed by these "Art/Limited/L/DFA*" type variants. Even Canon L glass kept needing Mark II verions because of Airy disks on the pixel pitch. But there are some lenses from 10-15 years ago, and from the 80's and 90's that are more than adequate. Alright they might not compete with the latest and greatest but they do have a lot of character.
Lidar systems are a game changer for older lenses with character.
The jittery footage on the Huawei is just awesome.
My conspiracy: the big manufacturers saw the likes of Rokinon and Samyang and meike and such go from these crappy junk lenses to producing lenses that rapidly improved in character (still not as good as first brand but still) and got worried one day they'd be producing 24-70 2.8s for $500 and tank their lens sales so they made moves to cut them off at the knees before they grew powerful enough to challenge them
These companies already make a lot of lenses for first brands all the time. But they don't reveal it outright, despite having the same optical formula. A more accurate conspiracy is that they probably produce nerfed versions while giving better or identical formula to first brands for extra money under the table. This helps fill out a niche for both companies. The latest Sigma 50 1.4 looks optically the same as the Sony 50 1.4 except bigger and cheaper.
The tactic was changed already.... many big Camera Manufacturers (definately Panasonic and Canon) are producing already via Sigma or similar "3rd party" brands for noticable cheaper, just canon/panasonic branding.
Im wondering even if at canon there is a noticable enough difference between "affordable" RF lenses and the "pro" RF L lenses.... only 3-4 years ago, there was a noticable difference in sharpness, corner IQ, disortion etc in non L vs L glass, this difference is nearly diminished nowadays (but the price difference kept the same or more expensive for both, entry level and pro level)
I would buy an R7 right now if you could get a sigma 56 and a sigma 16 on it.
i really love the Canon EF-S 17-55 2.8 and any 10-20, also dont forget about the sigma 18-35 1.8 its a very nice lens but more expensive and heavy.
I shot pentax film and digital for decades. Do you know what you call a camera system without 3rd party lens support? A dead mount.
Its now confirmed!
Your music was created by geometric mechanical elves, from another dimension.
I'm already thinking Sony if I go full-frame just for the wide selection of E-mount lenses. I jumped from Nikon to Canon. I'll jump from Canon to Sony if I don't like my lens options a year from now when it comes to Canon.
Your thinking was my thinking before I bought a Sony full frame; and it still is my thinking.
that bassline at 8:13 made me think my mom came to my house with and vacuumed the first floor of my house while im in the second story
My Canon 24-105 F4 L was $1300 when it first came out, and it was p awesome. Today it's worth $400 if it works. All the components die or snap or break. Lenses only hold value for about 5 years unless they're vintage manual lenses with the Zeiss or Leica name or some weirdo Canon lens that is yellow that you need to stick under a sunlamp for 47.6 hours or it'll turn purple. Don't get caught up in the lens racket. Those cheap TTArtisan lenses are great, FYI. Check out the 25 F2.
I thought Fuji was openly sharing information with 3rd party lens makers ✌🏻
The slomo intermission made me forget what I was going to say.

At first I thought the P40 was having noise issues. Then as you kept walking I noticed that it was actually snow. But that brought me to look at the shadows compared to the GoPro and I’m liking the P40 more( yes it’s over sharpness is bad but not as much as the GoPro.
Idk man. My dad Tony Northrup says the Zeiss lenses are kind of poopy for sharpness. Or at the very least inconsistent between copies, which is enough for me to not want to drop 1000+ dollars on one
Did you spunk when you see daddy Tony 🤣
There was strange rumors about Carl Zeiss 5-7 years ago, on random forum discussing new lenses one say Zeiss is no more like was legend in past, and another one claimes he actually worked on Zeiss few year ago confirm that. Nothing special, just "feeling". Next Big news about Zeiss I read was super cool Telecentric industrial lens, and year later was news that Zeiss make famous insanely pecise mirrors for UVH ASML lithograph. After that I think is seems that some big powerful guy forced Zeiss to leave consumer market, my guess USA gov related. Nothing personal, only USA world domination.
I need a 10hr compilation of your slow-mos in my life…especially one involving squirrels and shroom-like colour science🙌
11:54 Remember -- in Canada cars always have the right of way -- pedestrians are mere "cannon fodder" on the sidewalk....
These wide fovs are a bit distracting especially without lens correction and toneh... 😲
Canon lost my vote with the crumple mallet behavior. So I went from a 50d to an A7R2. None are perfect but that’s not the point.
Had i also known about this i would have shifted to sony last july 2022. Now its hard to sell my RP and ef glass so that i can get an a7iii and viltrox 85 at least
@@vincentnavea6999 - If you are really dissatisfied, then make the change sooner than later. Your goal seems modest, so it’s probably worth the effort to sell trade up and throw in a little extra cash to get there. Like I said, no, camera is perfect but it’s nice to get closer than we are now.
Sony only opened their mounts because of necessity, not because they are benevolent.
Therefore you have to drop canon to make it necessary for them to open the mount, duh.
I only use fourth party lenses.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there was no profit in camera bodies but plenty in lenses, hence the manufacturers are fighting to secure that market too.
This is not the video game console business model. Make no mistake, they're making good profits on every part of the system. Especially Canon and it's $50 lens hoods.
No profit in camera bodies? Are you ok? Dont believe everything! They are more expensive than ever, and they invested much less to develop than they earned with (us) consumers, most R&D was anyways done by costumer complains, and its like this in too many things.
To the canon "lens hood" thing.... yeah its incredible annoying, meanwhile all my sigma lenses have a dedcated high quality carrying bag and lens hood included. Its not the highest quality feeling lenshood, but its WITH THE LENS, so good.
Once canons lens hoods had quality, modern lens hoods for smaller/cheaper lenses cost still a lot but are low quality, not even a some good light absorbing textile thingy on the inside of the lens hood.
@@harrison00xXx I’m fine thank you for asking. The labour and material overheads against a £1000 camera body are higher than a £1000 lens.
@@andrewbaxter9395 And still they make A LOT PROFIT with cameras so you can be sure they make a sh*tton of money with lenses.
Im not into this nonsense anymore, i buy every 4-6 years a body with good price/performance ratio and enjoy GOOD, mostly older glass since the camera industry is out of mind since longer ago
more than 2/3 of my time photographing i was on 2nd hand (beginner level...) APS-C bodies and good 2nd hand deals on EF lenses, the only thing changed i buy nowadays new bodies since the video features were better on newer models, before i was super happy with photo only since video wasnt anyways affordable.
I just try to support this greedy companies as little as possible, they dont deserve to sell their overpriced stuff.
@GOAT OF DUTY absolutely! And the fabric stuff on the inside of the hood for absorbing reflections is called flocking just for your reference. It's a funny word.
It always amazes me when people go out of their way to support companies' tactics. I don't know what they're getting out of it because unless they're stockholders, the company sure as hell doesn't give a damn about them.
If zeiss joined the l mount alliance, it would be game over for Sony. Can you do a skit with Leica boss meets zeiss boss? 😂
Idk why but sometimes drivers will just honk at you when your taking photos
Any 3D-popping lenses for Fuji? Don't need AF so adapted lens or even vintage would be fine. Ideally standard primes.
Love the Music!
On vlogging have you seen MKBHD @AutoFocus vlogs? The audio, image, stabilization, even smooth zoom transition when needed are all really good. The main camera larger sensor gives a great depth of field too.
Yes that Honk was startling. Keep up the good working videos. Klide
Sony partnered with Sigma, Tamron, etc. at the beginning of their foray into mirrorless cameras out of necessity, to leapfrog the competition. Now their own mirrorless lens lineup is nearing completion (except at the very long prime end for wildlife shooters) and Sony are number 1 in mirrorless camera sales. They now feel those partners have outlived their usefulness.
Active stabe? Focus breathing compensation? Bursts higher than 15 FPS? Better come back to Papa Sony, and pay more for the privilege if you want GM quality. They'd take back AF if they could.
The quality of the image of the videos is getting better every time..more toneh, depth of field,richness,colorspace,grading,balance..and all that other garbage nobody cares about. Just use youre huawei and youre good to go. Nobody will notice any difference with the videos you made with the x3000 years ago 😂😂😂 keep up the good work..
Sony also limits the Frames Per Second rate to 15 FPS for third party lenses ... so on the best cameras they won't work as well.
Oh yeah do they?
do they Dan? 🤌🏽
Well said and you pointed out things that nobody else is mentioning regarding Nikon and Sony.
And Canon has that ace up their sleeve with the EF/RF adapter that works flawlessly with no performance loss at all. Nikon and Sony can't do that with adapted glass (as they will lose performance). Most EF lenses will work just as well as the RF counterparts (if they are of the same class). My Sigma Art 50 1.4 is 99% as sharp as the RF 50 1.2 and it cost 1/3 the price... and it's actually smaller than the RF version (even with the adapter) and focuses 2x faster than the RF version (there is a good video online comparing this lens adapted on the RF system vs all the other Canon 50's and the Sigma is much faster than all of them).
I have to say that the footage from the huawei is really good
1500 euro 50 f1.4 and 3000 euro 24-70 f2.8 is what manufacturers want. The modern mobile competes with the camera is most usage scenarios for the average user. Instead of offering good lenses at good cost in kits to keep up, they are increasing pricing. At some point the users will realize that their heavy camera kit is inferior to their mobile if they do not spend 5000 euro, and then, the market segment that keeps manufacturers in business with cease to exist.
meanwhile i loved my canon EF 50 1.4 i bought for like 200€ and sold many years after for 200€ (half broken/half repaired by me 3x)
And now since i missed a 1.4 lens i got a radioactive takumar 50mm 1.4, amazing, yellowish lens but 1.4 is so awesome for low light and still affordable. I paid only 60€ for it!
I used to think the conspiracy angle you had was just a joke, but now I realize you know too much.
@6:15 ... 3D POP! (I dunno what I'm talking about ... but that looks like 3D POP to me).
The prices on most of this stuff kills me, I just don't understand the cost. OEM or aftermarket, the biggest difference I keep seeing between the two is auto-focus, OEM has it and aftermarket typically does not. But those tiny auto-focus gears and motors have been around forever now, they damn sure don't cost more to make today then they did 50 years ago! Robots pump out gears glass and motors by the thousands per day. So where is all the cost in these "new" lenses with their plastic bodies? They're not even made of aluminum anymore for fck sake! Cheers 🍻
The GoPro is making the Canadian license plates look European
I’m in a period of transition. I need to transition and I currently have Canon gear. The interesting thing is everyone is making good gear and with Canon ‘not playing well with others’, it makes me look elsewhere.
For m4/3 the problem are different, Sigma does not want to make lens for this system! I hear that the huawei have bad sound (your voice sound more acute and metalicc). Saludos
Did you mean autofocus only? Because there are a bunch of third party x-mount manual focus lenses bringing you all the fuji colors you know and love!

Isn’t Canon accusing Viltrox of illegally obtaining trade secrets? Reverse engineering should still be fine, no?
I don't like the way phones do video of people, but that beauty mode x10 was surprisingly good. Way better than your Glimmer Glass or the BlackgyedMist filters. The only problem is it's from Chy-na. Did it come with a big white ballon and a spy kit?
So what your saying is that all the camera companies engage in anti-consumer behavior and that it's cool for them to monopolize their own product lines without having to have competition introduced when it comes to their own branded products?? Well then if they go on to impose artificial barriers to protect certain product lines then how is that any different??
Hi, love your videos! Only camera yt guy that hates every thing instead of liking all. I had photography as a loser hobbie, using an old DSLR, and so I have the intention to get a camera for video. Main thing I'm interested is in shooting some slow motion for that cinematic look, and wild life also. I'm not from a 1st world country, so my budget is not too high. I think that the Fuji X-S10 might be a good option. Do you have other preference in simillar budget?
EOS R7 will fit your demands better, the lens ecosystems and prices are anyways at both lens systems bad, but at canon you can pretty good adapt EF lenses tho.
But i guess R7 is also a bit more expensive.
6:55 man.... So funny
Did you know Resolve is on the iPad?
Please! Tell me the name of the song in the slowmo segment! It’s playing in my head for over two months!

@@cameraconspiraciesdidn’t notice your reply for some reason, but it’s still playing in my head since then, so i‘ve just spent 20 minutes to find the video where I heard this song and I’m pleasantly surprised you replied, thank you!))
And then there is Pentax. No one wants to make lenses for the K-Mount. Problem solved. :(
Zeiss stopped making lenses. Wasn´t Sony.
My random thoughts. Epstein Island to kick things off…priceless! The phone footage brought us to over sharpening hell with zero stab(e). The GoPro is, dare I say, amazing for walking vlogs. The GoPro stabilization is second to none. Extend the selfie stick out, throw it in Linear with horizon leveling. Boom. Plus it’s so light weight. Of course you can only use it on a clear sunny day 😂😂. In my opinion the Zeiss 55 is the best lens I’ve ever owned. Sorry for the lengthy comment. I just downed two cups of coffee and Alpha Brain.
Cool track man
what's do you think about Fuji XT3 for shortfilm?
8:57 weird !
I’d hope that sigma and tamron would just make a 25mm 1.5, 36mm 1.5, 51 mm 1.5, 86mm and a 135 mm 1.9 with a 23-69mm f2.9 haha
You can go in and out of slomo while filming on the huawei? Or just sped up the already slo mo footage…
It's comes out slow, but with the beginning and end at normal speed.
I think my GM primes are better than the Zeiss lenses. I think when people say a lens has character they mean softness and imperfections LOL.
As soon as you switch to a phone, framerate went down the hill.
Yeah the frameskipping is annoying for motion on Huawei, On my P30 I lock the shutter, then depending on the scene either lock the iso and use an Nd filter, or use auto iso with or without the iso.
Sad to see camera companies all turning into Apple. Love all of my M50 Sigma lenses.
Great video
Sony now know how to make lens properly, so they killed zeiss slowly but sure. Maybe that’s a good thing to me to make zeiss lenses affordable lol
I would have honked at you too!!! wonderful tour of suburban Toronto, old lovely houses. lenses? who cares.
Random question. I noticed you're wearing a FeelGrounds hoody. Do you wear their shoes as well? Looking for some minimalist shoes and heard they are good.

@@cameraconspiracies Love my Vivo Boots, not vegan unfortunately. Watched the vid, great transformation, I didn't record my before about 5 years ago.
And, yes: you Canon always get what you want!
I have a Sony a7iv but it does everything for me and takes the fun out of it . I was thinking about using a Fujifilm x100v for cinema footage . I could put it on a gimbal because no stabe . Do you agree with me ?
X100V will overheat quickly in 4K. I tried it, didn’t work well.
@@RandumbTech maybe the heat will be less recording to atomos ninja
You are better off using the Sony for that, X100V, I don't know man
Vlogging with the GoPro 11 looks way better than Sony A7IV I’m going to try it. The Sony is heavy with the Sigma 28-70. GoPro only gives me issues indoors with weird focusing jitters. Outdoors it looks great
Canon kills off the M series in favor of the R series and releases more expensive lenses that suck even more. Good job Canon.
Good point for the M series users to buy 2nd hand cheaper M lenses and enjoy their system till it dies completely
At least as a EF-M Mount User i would now (or in some months when these needs are also served) buy cheap EF M lenses, especially the 18-150 for the best possible deal.
Since im using the RF mount tho i rely mostly on EF lenses and partially a nice 17-55 2.8 APS-C/EF-S lens
Not sure which was better, black and white outline man, or boiled lobster man.
