I never used the government as a measure of truth when teaching my children not to lie. The people in power are poor examples. The Bible, specifically the KJV Bible, is the measure of truth and is what I used. I also set a standard in my home. Discipline for lying was serious in my home. I lead by example. Children do not need to be taught to lie, they do it because in their early life it is their nature. Although not popular in our culture, I certainly used shame when lied to. Sometimes humor is called for and I know that seems antithetical. This is because the nature of their lies come from different places. Also their are many examples one can use as examples of those in government who lie and those who don't. It's sad that it seems these people who surprise us because of their lies as they shouldn't. It can be disenheartening. I wish you very well as you endeavor in your efforts.

What was the point of that hearing? There were so many issues brought up, it was difficult to understand why they were holding a hearing.

I am a 34 year old man, I'm not American but I live in the western sphere. I believe that capitalism has been the single greatest systemic upliftment of man ever invented. But I'm currently wrestling with the idea that capitalism has reached it's limit. The money has been moving upwards for too long, the idea of the American dream is gone, it's impossible in the modern world. How we fix this problem I do not know, but we have reached the point where all power rests in big corporations and unfortunately now their government lackeys. As I watch these inquiries and questions offered to Merrick Garland one answer seems to dominate the proceedings. And that is "I'm unfamiliar with the case" now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he the Attorney General of the DOJ and he's unfamiliar with every case they put in front of him. Based on that alone he should be charged with Perjury.

I hear what Ms. Rose is saying about prison policies, but some people should never be let out, and the death penalty is a necessary means to detour and to carry out justice. If someone lost a love one to a cruel crime should be allowed to pursue a eye for an eye.

California already does this. Private sales have to go through an FFL. In addition to each transaction being run through the national data base,, CA DOJ running their own background check. CA legislature just passed a law allowing the CA DOJ 30 more days to process, ie delay, the approvals.
Something you may want to look at are California's attack on hunting, specifically hunting dog breeds and the use of dogs for hunting, like duck hunting, etc. CRPA is on this and would be a good source on this.
