    Man the support on this video has been crazy to me. Nearly 4000 views??? This is a super small number to a lot but it is the most I have ever gotten on anything I have ever done so many thanks to everyone.
    I have been away for quite some time - I thought I was cool shooting this video with all the junk in the background and using my iphone as a camera and mic lol.
    I do hope you all will stay tuned for the future. Here super soon I got more content coming out about audio engineering/Live and other technology in worship/other tutorials people may ask for. To all that have liked and commented and subscribed and shared…. Thank you.
    I probably should have done this comment a while ago but anyways. Thanks again everyone and hang ten… I am working hard on new content.

    Such a really good video! Thanks for this. I have found that when warping, I choose complex pro and then change the formants and the envelope to 0.00 and 8 respectively and that warps them flawlessly. Whenever I have done it in a different warp function sometimes pads and synths tend to sound wonky with all of the effects and can add an “out of tune” feel to them.
    I might try out tones to see the difference.

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  3 года назад

      I find that complex pro fixes most of the issues altogether. My only thing is it ramps up CPU usage & last thing we need is tracks cutting in & out live.

    Thank you for your video. When a piano player is playing, how will they remember where to go in a song if they are trying to keep up with the track and the singer and there are so many locators?

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад +1

      You are welcome for this video ... got a new one posted now !
      Anyways to answer your question; that is where using a "Guide" or "cues" track comes in. If you purchased a session from a site like multitracks.com it will always come with a guide that tells you what section of the song is coming up a full measure before it happens. This along with the click track should be routed to inears only of course. This will help everyone to stay on track to what the arrangement of the song is and also count everyone into the song (no more drummers clicking sticks to start the song off).
      Also if you are creating your own stems you can head to multitracks.com/free and download there guide audio files for free! and drop those into the session where you are creating your own tracks.
      Back when i had to play the drums for my church guides saved me sooo many times cause my mind was consumed with being a tech director. Trust me they help !

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад

      Yo! No problem! I feel that; the churches I integrate for are as well.
      1- Check out the LOOPTIMUS pedal by loop community. Or really just google “MIDI foot controller”. Most have a USB output that can connect to a computer or iPad and you can use that to map to functions in live like advancing locators and toggling click.
      2- absolutely. My church did this when we 1st started. If you have a DAW like Logic Pro X or Pro Tools & have access to software instruments then you can create your own tracks and drop them as stems right into Live.

  • @calebailes4584

    Love this! only issue I am having is my markers track and saving the actual song project. I cannot copy and paste my markers like you did at round 34:00. And when I saved my song project and tried to drag and drop into a new session, it was quieter, and my tempos got jacked up. How do I copy and paste my markers like you did and how do I save the song?

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад

      Hate to hear that man !
      It is possible you overlooked the warping in some or all of your tracks in the new session ? Sometimes Live will sneak up on you in that way & you must make sure to disable Warp if you dont need it. Also make sure the global tempo is set to what you need it to be for that song.
      About the markers you have to make sure you are pasting from a MIDI track in the old session to a MIDI track in the new session. Make sure you have an empty MIDI track to paste the markers onto and click the first measure inside the actual clip area - i know this sounds weird and complicated but I actually have a new ableton video dropping in just a little bit. Going into depth about how to program and build up worship sets

  • @reginalddunn5150
    @reginalddunn5150 3 года назад

    Nice vid, bro! Thanks for the enlightenment. Quick question: how do you recover when the worship leader doesn't cue a part in enough time for you to trigger the right loop? (In other words, s/he doesn't say to repeat the verse, so you accidentally end up on the chorus while the leader is repeating the verse.)

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  3 года назад +1

      Many thanks! All that you can do is cut it and pick it back up on the next section. This happened to us a few times this last sunday actually. However if its a song like when you walk into the room where it sounds the same for the whole song then just let it run til you get back to the right section.

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  3 года назад +2

      Also when I program I like to have a key set to solo click track and only percussion tracks when things get weird. I will come out with a walkthrough of how I build my ableton live sessions in a little bit. Its one of my favorite weekly routines even though its a lot of work & takes precision and time.

    can you set up sounds to increase in volume with slides? I have the M-audio pro 61 and I want to be able to use it in worship settings along with the sliders to fade in sounds… can someone let me know.

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад

      Absolutely you can. MIDI map (Cmd or Ctrl+M) your sliders in your midi controller to the volume of the track(s) you want to do this with and it should work perfectly fine. Just make sure to configure your midi controller in Live's preferences first

  • @JosephSmith-ri5bx

    Is there a reason why my click track is in sync with my song but when I try to automate the ableton’s metronome instead, the metronome is off tempo? I have my bpm set at the top left but for some reason ableton’s metronome is still not in sync .

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  Год назад

      Make sure that the dot on the corner of the master tempo is red meaning automation is active! Do this by right clicking the tempo and pressing re-enable automation. Also if you are using a click track file within your tracks, make sure its seg. BPM is locked into the original and warp is on.

    • @LANDOYT

      Yes you can. we did this for a while before upgrading to Live Standard. Does your church pay for the tracks or do you?

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад +1

      Depends on use. If it is a song the worship band at church is singing then the church pays for it. If it is just a session that I want to deconstruct and just listen to - which I do often - then I will pay for it.

  • @tonylancer7367
    @tonylancer7367 2 года назад

    The one thing that "bothers" me about tracks is vamping or repetition. From the video I can hear that someone else runs tracks for you, so how do you handle if the worship leader asks to repeat a certain verse or chorus, or have a worship moment?

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад

      Whoever runs tracks- be it a person onstage or a dedicated playback engineer- they should be tuned in to visual and auditory cues from the person leading. Also have your session setup to where you can make live changes quickly with the press of one command.
      While it is not possible for everyone having a dedicated playback engineer is the ideal situation as they can focus completely on manning tracks without having to worry about playing an instrument.

  • @incmobi1
    @incmobi1 2 года назад

    how did u drop in the marker track and where did u get it from? thanks

    • @LANDOYT
      @LANDOYT  2 года назад

      Creating a markers track is as simple as creating a MIDI track (Cmd+Shift+T) and stretch its clip out to last your whole song. If you are in Live 10 or 11 all you have to do is double click an empty part in the arrangement within the markers track’s area. Otherwise press Create and then Empty MIDI region.
      -Then split that same clip into every section of the song. This is why I prefer to already have locators down before I do markers tracks. This way you can just click the position of the locator (make sure your markers track is flashing blue and white) and press Cmd+E at every locator.
      -If you do this correctly then you should have multiple clips within the markers track and each should last as long as the two locators between it.
      -From there just rename the markers track to the section it is located in. For example; 9 times out of 10 the first clip in the markers track will say “Count Off” then the next one will say “Intro”.
      Hope that makes sense.

      Any version! Intro, Standard or Suite will accomplish this. Only thing to keep in mind is the track limit in the Intro version. No more than sixteen audio tracks so if you go that route, you may have to consolidate!
