Svetlana Khorkina (8 Skills named after her which is INSANE, and she was so passionate and competitive and she had my figure when I was in gymnastics) and Nastia (I hate they took her BB one leg landing out of the new CoP, or so I was told), they could both work the bars like none other....and no one could vault like Maroney could...idc the Romanian vaulter got lucky and won Olympic gold at London when Maroney fell. The whole world knew Maroney was really the best, and if they didn't they were fools. She was the best since Produnova. Mustafina is just great at everything!! I wouldn't be scared to have her compete for my team on any apparatus and I'd be scared to compete against her on any apparatus, and she's in her twenties and a mother and still competing! Jordan Wieber on floor was always beautiful. Favorite Gymnast of All Time? Carly Patterson since she beat my beloved 😍💕Sveta in AA (no easy feat to put it mildly) and she was the first American woman to win a non-boycotted Olympic gymnastic games. 👊💥🏆💪She was truly the greatest alive.

I got teary eyed when i reached the end of the video. Nastia was an amazing gymnast.

On a fluff piece for DWTS she hurt her thumb and mentioned it was no big deal because she competed on a BROKEN ankle. I knew she was injured but had no idea it was that bad.

I think she's my absolute fav gymnast !!!! The most graceful elegant yet powerful I've ever seen . I could watch her for hours . She's just so smooth . Her beam is like ballet on a 4 inch bar. Unbelievable . Love you Nastia ❤️
She's my favourite too. She is stunning even when is is falling.
I Still think she had a remarkable 2008 comeback after ankle surgery and literally having to be off her leg for almost 6 months. Her ability and refocusing all her energies on her original goal and then the superior coaching of Valerie was instrumental for her. The impeccable plan he had put into play was all based on timing and knowing when to hold her back a little so she didn't peak to early. All the greats can claim that. Alicia Sacramone, Shannon Miller, and even to a lesser point Simone(she didn't need to peak. lol). And Of course the other greats from around the world as well. Nastia will be listed among the best ever. I still can't get enough of the 2000 through 2020 videos from all great performances we've been blessed with. One of the still few lingering pros about RUclips.
I think Nastia is one of my absolute favourites to watch. She’s so balletic as well as being technically superb.

Had Bela Karolyi been Nastia's coach she would have broken down long before she made it to the Olympics. I am so glad her Dad understood she was a fragile gymnast and she wasn't going to be able to be worked through the bad injuries and that would just result in worse injuries. He understood she would have to be a healthy Nastia to be the best in the world Nastia, and he made it happen. Valeri is better than Bela in that way. Bela would have destroyed her like he did so many other potential All Around Gold medalists by his stupid "work through the pain! You can do it I know you can! Don't make me put my hand around your neck and choke you if you don't!"
But Valeri did exactly what Bela did with a lot of his other gymnasts (Bross, Ohashi, etc). Seems like she was somewhat an exception
Absolutely beautiful, as always. :) I miss her and her gymnastics so much. I'd really enjoy one with Aliya, if that's something you'd like to do, of course!

In one of Shawn videos, Nastia pointed out that she never fell on her geinger release between 2002 and 2012, but at around 0:55 we clearly see her falling on her geinger release on 2005

I used to be a gymnast and you sort of just do it...I dont know it's like it just comes to you but when I look at other people at climbing heights or mountain biking on cliffs I'm amazed how they are so mazing at it and not afraid...maybe we are all given some kind of gift
