Brilliant bonus footage I'm lmao, holly sh... splat ,a great use for masterlocks, Ad -The new 50mm mastersplatter bug splatter -can also be used as a padlock.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen LPL take a lock part so fast. If there was a Guinness world record for disassembling, replacing pins and reassembling a lock, he would definitely win.
Nice, liked how you showed how to put a pin in the bible. Seen others try to show people, but you made it real clear, with a nice shot of you doing it. Should of shown how to put a 6th pin in on a 5pin key.
Randy Perkins it's the same process just finding a key pin that sits flush off the tip of the key(trial and error) then adding the driver pin and spring
Sorry Grim I was being a little bit of a wise ass on the part. Figuring if you're gonna mess the pins adding a 6th stack would help the most. Very sincere on the first part though. Perfectly sowed how to put them in and taking them out should be exactly the same. Sorry LPL moment of weakness and I got caught, lol.
The fly managed to pick open LPL's secure door and break in while he was filming. He was almost a goner if he didn't act fast and beat the fly up with a lock.
Great job and quick skill demonstrated. This might be just about the only Master lock I will buy, just because It could be re- pined to your business and/or home keys. Master lock just don't get it. They need to get better with security pins, not just the outside appearance of a lock.
that's a really cool lock, i like the idea of using a kik in a padlock. also, as a side note, it's nice seeing other people support CLK supplies, they're a good company.
do you have any advice for a left handed picker regarding how to hold a tension wrench? i hold locks in my right hand and its really hard when the core only rotates to the right..mortise or euro locks are ok since they open both ways but padlocks are always difficult...i suppose i could try picking it upside down but i dont want to have to learn to pick both ways..i like right side up, especially since all NA keyways are like that
I have watched and enjoyed almost all the videos in your channel, and one glaring fact emerges: the brand “Masterlock” is simply a marketing company that sells poorly designed, and in the most part, poorly made products from China, and has utter contempt for its end users, and disdain for any advertising standards organisations in the U.S.A. Basically they are fully aware that their products are mostly junk, but carry on selling them because no-one cares enough to stop them. Sad.
7:00 - Wait a second... something got jammed up in the mechanism, and LPL resorted to using the key to unstick it? BRB, gonna patent "something" and a process for "jamming it up in the mechanism", so even LPL can't pick it!
Hey, where did you get the tension tool you use when you're first picking the lock, around the 1:14 min mark? Did you buy it that way or did you bend it yourself?
So, as someone who has no clue about anything discussed here: Why don't standard locks use more of these security pins? It doesn't seem like they'd be much more expensive to use?
Because the guy with a sledgehammer or crowbar or bolt cutters or maybe an angle grinder doesn't care if you have security pins. All these cheap locks may be terrible but when you get down to it, the lock body is probably the only important part for the vast majority of attacks. They aren't much more expensive to use but if it makes no difference to the majority of your customers, might as well cut the costs and pay more attention to the physical strength of the lock.
Great video! Would it be helpful to show how much adding security pins helps against raking? I'm glad to see that you showed how to trap the driver with the follower before pushing it into the bible in your video - many people probably didn't know about this.
This lock is usually shipped w/o a cylinder included, but they did offer it special order with a short list of keyways. No way from the model number you gave to determine which. The manufacturer of the cylinder is an important factor. ILCO and GMS are the most common aftermarket cylinders who manufacturer in about 23 commercial keyways. SOME keyways are multi-section, which makes them especially sloppy. If it is a RUSSWIN o.e.m. cylinder, intended for a standard Key in knob format, tolerances will be very tight. Much better to outfit with the Emhart HS version, or Medeco, Assa Max etc. Your demo of improving the existing cylinder is not bad, but I would try upselling facility into a restricted keyway, highly resistant lock form.
This is maybe a silly little question but what is the c clip (circlip) remover tool you have, just seems so simple/small and handy, cant seem to find one on ebay or even google search. Would love it if someone could tell me please!
@@lockpickinglawyer Not at all. The purpose of this lock format is to reduce the number of keys carried. The lock may only be to a safety caged off area, or embedded in a tool crib or storage container, so the lock body and shackle may be well protected.
imagine the bug being able to pick that lock. On a sidenote, i’m gonna get one of these and put a mul-t-lock mt5 in it. it will be the trojan horse of padlocks. for shits and giggles, right?
Why couldn't that bug have just stayed in the final cut? I guess it's a good thing you don't have a cat. [cat walks into shot... LPL picks up gun and BLAM].
well killed man I hate any thing like that enless its a bee there ok any way nice idea with changing pins I do it my self and it does make them more secure any way thanks stiglocks..r
Bad LPL - That was a perfectly harmless (and beneficial) ant lion. In the larval form they build conical traps in fine, dry soil and eat insects that tumble in.
Given the size of that bug Im amazed the lock took such a substantial impact without springing open...
The only thing Masterlock in it's stock state is good for is smashing bugs.
unless the bugs break it
@@nate6889I think you may have found a blatant security flaw... 😂
"...The idea is that once you've set this up, you can use the lock to kill bugs."
Should have rolled with the bonus footage in the beginning and just left it there like nothing even happened
AGREED! That would've been comedy GOLD!
you just flattened a new fan having a closer look LOL,
as for the lock you opened as quick as without security pin's :)
"I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
That bonus footage was better than any after credits marvel scene I've ever seen 🤣😂
at your trial for Insecticide in the first degree this video will be exhibit 1 😉😎
The bonus footage was epic. lol
That re-assemble was so smooth
lol love the bonus footage. Holy shh...
LPL when making references to products, video's and more. Can you please add these to the description? It will make your viewers life a little easier.

Hahahaha! Nice job on the lock & very professional on the bug; you are The Killer!
nicely done demo

I think you stumbled upon the absolute best use of a Master Lock
The fly managed to pick open LPL's secure door and break in while he was filming.
He was almost a goner if he didn't act fast and beat the fly up with a lock.
Haha! Great video! I'm surprised you didn't grab your Squire for the bug though! 😃
Great job picking.And repicking!
*spits beer at the bonus footage* LOLLL
Really enjoyed the video, you make it all look so easy. Thanks for sharing.

A really master and a nice tutorial on how to improve it.

Those bug wings could be used to pick a lock🤣

Wow, you must be SO amazing at picking locks. I bet Master Lock has not sold any locks after this comment.
Knowing Master Lock products, I thought the bug was going to pick the lock open!
Good looking lock
Why aren't security pins used as the standard? Is it a matter of cost?
literally just woke up, hasn't been 5 seconds, already smashed that like button
Great kill! Pick was nice too! Thanks for the tips on pinning but I think they are out of season lol 😂
you just amaze me ~ how the hell can these be sold if YOU make ithem open that easy.
No if HE can improvvvvve them that easy
Definitely enjoy you videos! Question, in your opinion. What is the best home lock? I have medico now was wondering if that ok?
at 9:45 we what master locks do best... that's what they were made for
Thank you!
great job buddy very nice lock aswel👍😊😊😊😎

I put security pins from the sparrows reload kit in my schlage everest. Nice lock, scary bug.
Very nice video LPLAWYER! Thanks for sharing this info! Lol

Yetis4Life Yetis4Life heated and bent himself
Nice thanks!
Masterlocks, not just a paper weight anymore.

Nice!! Please do the same on multi-locks, maybe in can be quite difficult
LPL: cool, calm and collected as always, perhaps what you might call .... unflappable?
Very interesting video. Thanks! (Bug included).
Great video! Would it be helpful to show how much adding security pins helps against raking? I'm glad to see that you showed how to trap the driver with the follower before pushing it into the bible in your video - many people probably didn't know about this.
The main point of security pins is that they stop raking or bumping attacks, forcing you to SPP it-and that SPP is harder than with standard pins too.
It's always puzzled me as to why lock makers drill their cylinder for 6 pins but then cheap out and only use 5.
Loved the bonus footage, no 6th pin?
bwaahhaaa! Loved it.
I don't understand why you wouldn't always use security pins? Zero extra cost, right?
What brand is your TOK tension wrench? Nice video btw!
I believe he uses Sparrows or Peterson Pry bars
I just got one of these locks with a kwikset key way
0:58 ...and then Master Lock, I'm going to add some security pins and pick it again so you can see the difference. lol
didn't even clean up the guts on the lock haha
Is there a method to which pins are best suited for which style pin? And is there a benefit to combining certain pin styles with one another?
Lots of makers use a steel standard for driver 1 for drill resistance. The rest are best to mix to hopefully confuse pickers.
9:44 That's an adult antlion.

Why didn't you populate the sixth pin?
Probably so he wouldn't have to cut the key to accommodate the 6th pin..
It has been shown you can use a 5 pin key in a 6 pin lock. Only the 6th pin will always be the same hight, riding the tip of the key.
Out of curiosity, why not security pins in all 5 driver pins?
Also, lol at the bug :-D
How would you open this without the driver in place?
I wonder why more people don't go back and watch your earlier videos.
there was no need to kill the bug, was there?
So locks can be used as an anti pesticide?
This is maybe a silly little question but what is the c clip (circlip) remover tool you have, just seems so simple/small and handy, cant seem to find one on ebay or even google search. Would love it if someone could tell me please!
grouxy HUK lockpick has it in their locksmith tools kit. I picked mine up on Bangood
Thanks Harry.
U could put a medeco core in it
Yup, lots of options. But with a brass body and exposed shackle, an expensive core might be wasted.

good ending lol you nearly kerst
and a good tutorial
end of video was a dedicated fanboibug who flew in just for the guest spot, and look how you treated him. ...... subract 1 from subscribers !
how do you get such loud clicks when a pin sets?
I guess with a lot of tension, look at that pry bar bend!
This video was 1,000 videos ago
Aww, why kill it? :(
A harmless dobsonfly 😭
I think i have one someone modified because i cant open it at all! But im still new so who knows lol
Looks like a stonefly. Good thing there weren't any guns in this video. Maybe a bad thing? I dont know.
RAMSET Vs Bug
Why couldn't that bug have just stayed in the final cut? I guess it's a good thing you don't have a cat. [cat walks into shot... LPL picks up gun and BLAM].
Hello LPL ... do you have open my Challenge Lock ? :)
What challenge lock?
Should of grabbed the abloy 362 for the bug 😂
7/64 hex key
well killed man I hate any thing like that enless its a bee there ok any way nice idea with changing pins I do it my self and it does make them more secure any way thanks stiglocks..r
🤣🤣🤣

Hahahahaaa :D
let me guess 4 mins or less of picking for 9 minutes of video? i bet its about that.
less than two. that was even better than i predicted.
wtf you killed it! ...with a padlock? so much for a harmless hobby. not really a "bonus" for insect
Murderer! UNSUBBED
