The whole player base thing is so inaccurate. This game has no bots and its player base is split between steam and the base client. A lot of people think that the base client has more players (myself included) because most people I see and ask say they use it. So add that all together, with a player base of about 20k on steam (daily) right now and a client player base of maybe 30k. We'd be sitting at 50k players which is about the same as some of the most popular mmos to this date. AND DON'T FORGET, the other mmos are overrun with bots. So if they say they have 50k, most likely they have 40k or worse. It's crazy to think about but, when I play BDO I see actual players all the time. In games like Lost Ark, I'd be lucky to see a character that's not a bot outside of a town.
This game might have no bots, but what it does have is AFK. About half of the player base is AFK. AFK Fishing, AFK Bartering, AFK Horse training. Literally the same concept as a bot, but the game has it built in as a system.
@161 You say it like other players in games don't leave their game on 24/7 anyways... But yea you're right and it's hard to calculate. I afk at night and play during the day but if you count players that log in and out on steam for an estimate, that would be about 6k players so adding it onto client, maybe 15k a day in activity? Which again, isn't counting players who never turn their game off and still play actively during the day. Honestly, still pretty great... Like for instance, WoW is a really popular game and like half a year ago banned 100k players in 1 month, specifically in classic. Now we don't know what WoW's actual player base is but just take into consideration that how much 100k in a month actually is. EDIT: the 100k is specific to bots btw. I only mentioned it because the population of a lot of these servers are so inflated, it's a joke to look at them and be like "well I guess they're doing better" when only like 2 people show up for a world boss in lost ark on the most popular server yet has "50k active players" or osrs having all these players but many are multiclienting because the game is just that simple to do it AND they have bots. Idk, this whole population talk is such a joke.
@@jasonchiang251 Disagree, afk and botting are to very different things, just because they are afk they still count as actual players, and everything afk in the game is far less efficient than a bot or a player actually controlling their character.
Here's the thing. All these people saying not to p2w cause it isn't worth are actually the players banking on costume p2w players to sell them outfits for their upgrade clicks. Complete morons most streamers that are just defending their game/income.

Every game is P2W unless it's strictly competitive and u can't buy in game currency. Runescape does have Iron man Mode where u can't P2W. BDO should do the same.
@@bansku455 This is straight up false. Level boosts/story skips are p2w, and so is their entire retainer system. You can pay extra money in your subscription for more retainers. Bdo p2w. Ive spent like 12k in total over the 8 years I've played and to be honest after the first 100€ i spent on tent, pets and fairy everything else was absolutley useless and i gained basically nothing in the end because of the rng element. Sure u can spend 1k for 20b silver but to get the endgame gear you cant buy like half of it so you have to gamble to get it... Is it p2w? YES, but is it worth it? No. On average every 100€ you spend is like 4-5h of grinding so thats like 20€ an hour.
I bet you enjoy a good p2w deal on the pearl shop to benefit from tho right? You buy the outfits for crons and they use the silver to buy pens. Regardless if you take part in p2w or not most peoples upgrades come from it direct or indirectly. It's terrible design.
@Kevin-gf4im To be fair, no MMO has a good system in this regard. I haven't played ESO, so I can't say anything on that, but every other MMO either is P2W, or has little to no gear progression to spend on anyway. So it's not like BDO is exclusive in this regard.
P2W, afk farming, no group content, desync, gambling, shit story, SOLO mmorpg... the only two things that are good about this game is graphics and combat, nothing else.
This game is in an awful state. If you get to debo/fallen god enhancing wich doesnt take long you realize how they want everyone in need of cron stones for any sort of upgrade. Guess what getting crons is boring af. Wait for a p2w deal or camp the market. You could also go the unfulfilling route and grind 150+ hours and buy your upgrade. The answer to the video is NO unless you can just ovverlook everything for the combat. But even then its complete garbage in large scale fights.
pay to win? more like pay to lose, because you can never catch up to whales xD haha save ur money, the game is easy enough without spending money on it!
I don't know why everyone is so scared of pay to win now a days... WoW is the biggest MMO out there and it's incredibly pay to win now on top of a monthly sub so i don't know why it's even brought up as a deterrent for games anymore. @liquidlar it would be such a good game if it weren't for greedy devs, and it doesnt really feel like its "online" atleast not to me, i mean no trading with each other cone on now.
Imagine not having the mental strength to grind for 12h a day for a week to lose all the progress in 5 minutes of failing enhancing. Sounds like weakness to me 😂😂
@@bansku455well I mean every single content creator said “you can do whatever you want!” But none of them said if you care about meaningful gear progression you can grind or grief yourself. Tbh I don’t mind selling your games other systems but at least be honest.

blue u're not watching enough mmobytes! no way he's cutting waifus statement out of the video..
I don't do weed. rrMkayy?
28:11 LMAOO
But who plays BDO on steam?
Is it just me or hes wearing the same shirt?
Why you lying Blue?? "AoS looks great" 🤔
Don't worry i don't tell anyone.
But even then its complete garbage in large scale fights.
pay to win? more like pay to lose, because you can never catch up to whales xD haha
save ur money, the game is easy enough without spending money on it!
laz was horrible in the quiz. bicep should have been there
I don't know why everyone is so scared of pay to win now a days... WoW is the biggest MMO out there and it's incredibly pay to win now on top of a monthly sub so i don't know why it's even brought up as a deterrent for games anymore. You have extremes like Lost Ark, but at the end of the day it's a hobby and if you enjoy then spend money on it.
Should you play BLACK DESERT ONLINE in 2024? No.
Agree
@liquidlar it would be such a good game if it weren't for greedy devs, and it doesnt really feel like its "online" atleast not to me, i mean no trading with each other cone on now.
Imagine not having the mental strength to grind for 12h a day for a week to lose all the progress in 5 minutes of failing enhancing. Sounds like weakness to me 😂😂
Just if you are not smart enough to plan your progress...
@@bansku455well I mean every single content creator said “you can do whatever you want!” But none of them said if you care about meaningful gear progression you can grind or grief yourself. Tbh I don’t mind selling your games other systems but at least be honest.
So SICK of hearing this stupid garbage about combat combos.
Combo = sequence of button presses
Key bind = which button you press to do your combo
There us 0 excuse for the inability to bind skills in this game. THIS IS A CON, not a pro.
Decent players do not put important binds in hard to reach places with modifiers added for the luls.
STOP ACTING LIKE COMBO = KEYBIND.
First
Ain't no way bro said bdo is better than monster hunter 💀
Ugh ANOTHER blue squadron video I will NOT be watching because he is a BAD person I thin king
Why did you click on it?
I believe its a sarcastic comment.
