Damn wish this guy was more popular he has the voice for it
Amazing. I saw this guy recently at Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane and he wasn't even the main act but rather a support act. That is not to say the main act was not good but do you ever wonder why he is not better well known and playing in packed out shows at Entertianment Centres and the like? I get you have to start somewhere but he is destined for greatness. The beauty of these small venues is that I even got a chance to speak with him after the gig and purchased a vinyl of his. Something tells me next time he plays in town I might not have that opportunity again. Such a great talent out of Australia!!

Some people just have a voice that commands attention. Melbourne based singer/songwriter Ryan Downey is one of those people and I appreciate the fact that he features the voice prominently his music and understands the value of dynamics and space... This is a particularly beautiful song and somewhat deceptive in it's apparent simplicity. The real brilliance is in the subtleties of the arrangement and production... well done!
