  • Since I was a kid growing up in Los Angeles, I have dreamed of moving to an endless summer camp environment with recreational options of all sorts, peaceful fun loving visitors of all ages from around the world, yoga, dance, tropical jungles, festivals, night clubs garden restaurants, scuba diving, colorful celebrations, spirituality, new age mystical ceremonies, and more..
It was a combination of all my favorite activities in the summers in Los Angeles, camping trips in nature with my family. Celebrating with singing together as we did in choirs weekly, games, reading, crafts, and more...... I FOUND IT! Here it is in Ubud, Bali.
It finally took a very dear friend realizing that I would like it here immensely.
She actually "intervened" by telling me I should cancel my tickets and reservations for another year at San Marcos, on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, "because I didn't know what was waiting for me here. Another friend looked me straight in the eye and said "If you go to Ubud, you won't come home. You will get a villa in Penenstanan, a good scooter and you'll need a driver from the airport. Here's his number." She was only off on the address on the other side of town.
I'm in an somewhat urban business district for the first time in my life, after being in the suburbs as a kid and in the country from the time I moved out.
I do compare it to Disneyland with the exotic architecture, mix of ethnic cultures, breathtaking tropical resorts, exotic artwork, the endlessly charming Balinese people, streets of shops and restaurants where it is walking only and mostly sightseers.
I have lived a short walk from the yoga barn campus since 2020 with over 20 classes a day!
    Heaven on Earth!
