  • My family's new John Deere 5090M tractor mowing 6 foot high brush with an E12 Flex wing John Deere Mower. It took me along time to convince my family we needed a larger tractor to maintain our property, I think you'll agree this was a great choice. Please check out my book, "Mind Kill, Rise of The Marauder" at Amazon and Kindle. Stay Safe

    I think that is about as large of tractor and mower to be able to get into most of the tight areas of that field. Great work with the drone footage.

    We have a lot the same size property here in NY also. It was overtaken by the brush along time ago. We are trying to keep it back but I will have to get out different equipment to take the field back down.
    Keeping it down is so much cheaper and easier than taking it down.

    Many hunters are envious of your land , and wish they had a peace for themselves, enjoy it as much as possible. Is the land convenient enough from your house to do some riding and filming around the perimeter of it, in the evening's . Maybe even some deer stand project's on the land with your son. This time of year the evening's cool down nice, perfect for a sunset drive. Thanks for sharing. Wishing the best .

      Mark the land is about 15 minutes from my house and i should be spending more time there. I have a list of projects for the property but always seem to be bogged down at work and my home...and my passion is off road riding. Everything you mentioned all great ideas...which have been on my list for years prior to my channel. I will post some videos prepping for hunting on the property. Peter you should try Rino AG TS10 on your JD 3046R it also does great job, I have that set up and love it. I have cut grass as tall as your lot with no problem without lack of power, and you have advantage of the hydro static transmission. I think you should look at mower adjustments the center mower appears is cutting higher than your wing mowers.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  3 года назад +1

      Ray I think mowers width is relative to hp, less hp narrower brush hog...I absolutely believe your mower does a great job, if it's geared it would probably be better than my JD hydro as it's more efficient. I think the center blade will probably always cut higher than the wings as it's connected to the tractor and has 2 wheels on the ground the wings have one wheel on the ground. You have a great eye to notice that. We have a 6' brush hog i may put on my tractor to detail this property. I agree with you...btw that TS10 as an awesome awesome mower! Thank you for supporting my channel.

      @@maraudermitchelli Peter, I have JD 3046R that I use with TS10, and power is not issue. Maybe double check cutting height adjustment on that JD mower, because TS10 has that adjustment, Rino AG is great company to deal with. Because of the 3046R has lower draw bar height, they sent me shorter height bar free of charge. The mower cuts so level, you could almost use as finish mower application. Refer to Tractor Time with Tim, on RUclips, he has mentioned that the 3046R and TS10 is perfect match together.

      @@maraudermitchelli Peter, just in case you decide to try your 3046R on your new JD mower, refer to Tractor Time Tim, to his Costly Repair video, it refer to the most important information on draw bar length. On our draw bars you have to pull the bar out all the way to last pin hole in the draw bar, to maintain distance of 14" from center of hitch pin hole to the end of the tractors PTO shaft. Sorry if I am boring you with information but its very if you should decide try the mower on your tractor. Just refer to Tim's video.

    How do you think a 75hp tractor would do under the same conditions. Trying to avoid DEF

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  Год назад +1

      You'd probably have to go slower cutting weeds and grass this tall on the first cut...the next cuts would probably be okay. I'd ask your dealer and research on RUclips. You would think that 75hp should be fine...especially if it is geared. I hope this helps.

    How often do you mow these fields/lands? It's amazing how quickly weeds can turn into brush, brush can turn into saplings, saplings into trees. The growth you are cutting looks very similar in size to what I cut on our lands. Up to this point I have only managed to cut once a year. Autumn Olive and Multiflora rose have consumed our land and the amount of growth from one year to the next is saddening. I've been cutting with a 6' rotary mower behind a JD 2150 for years. I've just purchased a 5090M and now I'm looking for a heavy 12' flex wing mower with the dream that I'll be able to cut more than once a year. I know I wont kill the Autumn Olive and Multiflora rose, but if I can keep it from growing 6' or more in one year, I'll be a little happier. Thanks for the video!

    Nice rig Marauder. Your mower does a nice job of cutting everything. What's the HP? About 2 gal per hour of fuel consumption when working?

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  3 года назад +2

      Jerry you are probably correct...maybe a little more than 2 gallons an hour. The tank is about 30 gallons and he was fueled every day and half. The tractor is a solid 90hp. Late fall we'll start riding Demon again. I hope you are doing well.
