- So... this is out there now.
This game is actually quite a lot of fun! It's very different because you're not trying to match colors, rather you're attempting to make lines that connect to the sides or form some kind of loop. Still trying to work out combos, and as you can see, I start to get the hang of it a little bit more by the end.
MAJOR thanks to GerbilSoft for compiling the version of MAME that supports this thing. Cheers bro!
Neo Reviews will return... probably after the first of the year. I'm still shocked I could do this, cause this laptop is pining for death.

Nah, he is just trying to control the machine in order to spite and disturb the player and the Sonic Bros., but the machine, which appears to be unsafely-checked, always causes a spike in the chair whenever the player manages to clean the pieces and that's why he gets shock in his chair all the time in the game.
For those that didn’t know, this game was designed by Fukio Mitsuji (MTJ), also known as the creator of Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands.
Way more exciting than Sonic Eraser could be.
But Sonic Eraser is really a good game.

EDIT: There's sound test rips, thank goodness. And I must say, the soundtrack is really pleasant. Blue spheres also sounds much better here, so that's neat.
This actually looks pretty fun. Shame it was never released. I could definitely see it being a nice Puyo Puyo-esque romp with friends.
Wow, did anyone realize that when you get a game over, Robotnik juggling the Chaos emeralds is a direct reference to the bad ending of Sonic 1, where he did the same thing? he had a wicked smile on his face, what a creepy ending that was. But yea, this makes sense since Segasonic bros did come out in arcades a year after Sonic 1 released. Cool stuff.

Hey, I've been doing some research and work on porting Sega System C2 games to the Genesis (with some success!), and I hear this one is a System C2 game. I think it'd be great for me to take a shot at converting but I haven't been able to dig the ROM up anywhere... can you point me in the right direction?
Love your videos and I am hype for you porting C2 games.
I'm trying to do the same, but with puyo puyo sun and n to genesis/sega cd/maybe 32x. I would love a guide on how to.
@@ccateni28 For Sun, you'd likely have to start from scratch, as that's a ST-V game; the hardware is more akin to the SEGA Saturn. Perhaps you could analyze the code of the first 2 games to see how they work to get a general idea, since they're both on megadrive already.
Hello. I'm a MD programmer, and a big dream of mine is to make at least 1 game for an arcade board, some day. I've tried to port a small game to the Megaplay, no success. And I've also tried to disassemble Sonic 1 Megaplay, with no success either (or perhaps I'm simply not good at using IDA Pro yet). Either way, it doesn't help that Megaplay has little to no documentation. To what I know, System C2 hardware is very similar to the MD, other than having external CRAM (!), 68k CPU at 9Mhz (!!), and no Z80. Think that, could I have a word with you on how System C2 works, some day? Please? I'm incredibly curious!

I see why this didn't do well with test audiences. It looks and sounds kinda cheap. Gameplay is okay, but I can't see myself playing more than one round.
