When I first started in mid 70's a real hard hitter hit a z on a sharp angle, that just cracked over the short line and hit the wall before the infringement line and stayed inside the infringement line, very low. Real hard serve to catch up with.
to be able to serve that effectively against mitch williams and jason thoerner is pretty impressive! you know jack huzcek was prayin that he didnt get hit lol
I have a question about serving in doubles racquetball. Is it acceptable to serve to both opposing players or do I have to serve to the same person all the time and my teammate has to serve to the other person all the time. this issues keeps coming up when we play doubles and would like to resolve it. thanks!
Technically can serve to either side. However if you’re not playing at a high level this might be too fast (or dangerous) for the players at your club. When you reserve the court you can play however you want. Some have rules where you got to keep it on one side of the court on a serve. But it’s important to make sure the offensive player always has a big enough window to hit their shot. Often I see players serving the ball into the middle of the court and then body blocking the offensive player shot which is totally against the rules. That’s why you see these guys jumping when the ball is in the middle of the court. It’s a penalty hinder if you body block a straight in shot.
