I like how Sgt. Pepper’s cover is so awesome that he just gave up and added Mario characters to it instead of even attempting to replicate its majesty from scratch.

Oh my God, the whole thing is incredible from start to finish. Honestly, hearing The Beatles in the Mario 64 sound fonts reminds me of how much I genuinely love The Beatles, their entire Discography pretty much. (Not crazy about Yellow Submarine) I'm 28, and a lot of people my age (especially younger) seem to find The Beatles overrated and not very good, but there's a magic to them that I can't describe. I just friggin' love The Beatles.
I started listening music "seriously" 10 years ago at 16, mainly wanting to avoid the beatles for being "simple and normie-ish" through this time I´ve wandered through jazz, fusion, salsa, prog, funk and 80´s japanese pop, and now 10 years later I felt like I was missing something, so i´m listneing the whole beatles discography with a newfound love, respect and awe for how 4 guys managed to do so much in only 9 years, and realizing how my travel began and ended with the fab four, those guys were just something else. My favourites are Revolver and abbey road
Hearing the music a lot of my colleagues listen to, I think they’re missing out. There’s a lot to love when you truly dive in, especially with psychedelics.
I'm 21, and until recently I was one of the people who claimed they were overrated, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I recently went through a pretty huge breakup, and that coinciding with the general dread of being a young adult in 2023 put me into a place where I can really connect with the emotion that's within a lot of their songs. Their music can be so beautifully bittersweet.
(Verse 1) When I get older, losing my score, Could you still be sending me a life, level 4? If I'd been out 'til quarter to three, Would you lock the castle door? Will you still play me, will you still stay, Super Mario 64? You'll be playing too, ooh. And if you say the word, I could chase the stars more. (Chorus) I could be handy, jumping on foes, When your health is low. You can watch the score grow, Running 'round, finding secret doors, Who could ask for more? Will you still play me, will you still stay, Super Mario 64? Every summer we can go and explore A level that we've not played before. (Verse 2) We shall run and laugh at the sun. Think of all the coins that we've won. Grandkids on your knee, "Vera, Chuck, and Dave", they will see. Send me a Koopa, drop me a line, Stating point of view. Indicate precisely what you mean to say, "Yours sincerely, Wasting Away". Give me your answer, filling a form, Mine forevermore. Will you still play me, will you still stay, Super Mario 64?
Fantastic album, insane how relevant the concepts in it still are today. Not sure how the random nature of the album would fare with sound fonts though I am curious...
Hah, this is absolutely fantastic. Really good instrument choice for everything, well mixed, and the art is hillarious. The thwomp at the end of A Day in the Life is just excellent
I'd like it more if the crowd behind the band on the album cover were loads of classic video game characters--you know, Pac-Man and Q-bert and all. And instead of the old versions of the Beatles in the front row, it could be the original old 8-bits of Mario, Luigi, DK, etc. from the old coin-op games.
I love the Beatles and specially this album. And also I love Nintendo, but I never saw a connection between the two, but ... this is AMAZING THANK YOU VERY MUCH 😁
This recent boom in SM64 soundfont covers is exposing me to a whole world of music I would have never otherwise listened to, and I think that's beautiful.
"Super Mario's Lonely Plumbers Band" "With a little help from a shroom" "Luigi in the Sky with Rainbows" "Getting 1up" "Fixing a Pipe" "She's leaving Thwomp" "Being for the Benefit of King Bob-Omb" "Within Hazy Maze Cave, Without Metal Cap" "When I'm N64" "Lovely Toadstool" "Good Wingcap, Good Wingcap" "Super Mario's Lonely Plumbers Band (Reprise)" "A Day in Peach's Castle"
Lovely work! Some alternative title ideas: "1-up Mushrooms Lonely Hearts Club Band" "It'sa getting better" "For the benefit of Mister Koopa" "Lovely Daisy"
I have to say that I've listened to a lot of various renditions of "Good Morning Good Morning" (both actual band covers as well as MIDI renditions) and I think this one is probably the best one. It's a difficult song to do.
If you had put sounds of chain chomps, boos, whomps and all that kind of stuff at the end of "Good Morning Good Morning", that would have been so cool. Btw, I love these covers of the Beatles
This gives "When I'm 64" a whole new meaning
love this
lmaooo
It LEGIT sounds like a cut track from the original game! XD

So is Arlo a Sgt. Peppers enjoyer? Now I know
was not expecting arlo to like the beatles.

The Mario "whooo" at the end of When I'm 64 is perfection
I agree. That part of the original song always reminds me of Mario himself.
How about the thwomp at the end A Level in the life? Lol

Sgt. Peach's Homing Blueshell Band should be the new Mario Kart theme song.
It would have been great if in the crescendo of a day in the life you used the sound of the infinite stairs.

It's easy to think the Beatles are overrated when you haven't heard everything, but when you do.... You get it.
