The video starts lagging at about 18m, but the audio is fine. Uploading/editing from my phone has it's ups and downs, haha. I'l re-upload a video without issues when I return home. Thanks and enjoy!
Absolutely love your videos! I'm planning on a through hike of the A.T. in March and have learned a lot from you!! Thank-you for your content and please keep going!
Excellent videos, Really helpful. I’m planning my first long hike starting in July on the gr10. From what you understand, how different is the gr10 to the gr11?
Hello! I am planning to do the hike next summer. Did you end up using the puffy jacket during the hike, or would an alpha base layer and a wind/rain jacket suffice?
Yes, I ended up using it. There was even one day of hiking in snow. For my top I had t-shirt + sun shirt + down jacket + rain jacket, and this was pretty much spot-on. I'd bring maybe another lightweight fleece if you don't have a down jacket, and I think in combination with an alpaca base + rain jacket, you should be fine.
@OscarHikes Thank you for the reply. Yes, I have seen the video of you climbing the mountain in snow. I was actually thinking of bringing a wind jacket plus a Patagonia Torrentshell for a bit more rain protection and using both if it got really cold.
Do you need insurance? Health insurance? Insurance in case you need mountain rescue? Here in the UK we don't need this - local volunteer mountain rescue teams will help, assisted by coastguard/airforce/police and we have the free NHS.
Yeah you definitely need insurance for mountain rescue in Spain. I believe there was an austrian alpine club or something, which was about 100 eur per year and covered mountain rescue all over europe. I just got a local travel insurance that covered this.
Health insurance is a human right, which much of the world except the for-profit USA has already figured out. So I'm guessing he's got that covered. Interesting that there's "alpine rescue" insurance. Coverage for everything!
