Stumbled onto this video on just an up next video. Great surprise to see the bag featured, thank you so so much! Stoked you’re enjoying the bag. The new Sawyer/Cnoc collab is a huge win for no more bad sawyer bags.
Thank you for the comment and making great bags! I did see the new Sawyer/Cnoc bag but haven’t had the chance to try it out. The only issue I have is I haven’t found just the bag, only the combo, which is great for people buying it for the first time but not so much someone looking for a cheap upgrade. Let me know if I’m mistaken and you know of a way to get just the bag. Also just want to say I love your videos and you’re a big part of what motivated me to start making my own. Keep up the amazing work and I hope you have an amazing 2025!
@@HawkinsHikes the bag being used is the Vecto X 2L. Only difference is the sawyer logo and color of the bag being unique to the combo. Otherwise, the Vecto X is the same bag. Appreciate the kind words. I’ve subscribed and look forward to seeing your content this year.
Ah I see, that makes a lot of sense. I’m glad they addressed the issue because I love Sawyer as a brand, but those original bags were disappointing. Thanks for the info and thanks a lot for the subscription, same goes to you!
Nice video. One thing I added to go with the camp chair is a sand pad. It helps prevent the chair from sinking into soft soil or even sand if you use the chair on a beach.
This is an excellent point! I haven’t ran into this issue myself, but I’ve definitely heard of plenty of people who have. Any recommendations on one that’s worked well for you? Thanks for the comment!
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed! The great thing with backpacking is there’s really no right answer. Hopefully some of these things give you ideas on what could make you more comfortable, but at the end of the day if you’re out enjoying nature… you’re already doing it right!
They’re great! I did notice the weight changed a decent amount between the ones I was looking at, so just keep that in mind if you’re looking at others besides what I linked. Hope they help you stay warm and comfortable, and thanks for the comment!
A camp chair is a must for me. It makes being at camp much more relaxing. I use the helinox ground chair so that I can boil water while sitting and put my mug of coffee down beside me in the morning while having breakfast. Great suggestions keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words and the subscribe, much appreciated! I’ve seen a couple of your videos and really enjoyed them as well, keep up the good work!
I’m right there with you! These would probably be what I recommend a.co/d/0L7Z9PV but there’s a few others on Amazon that would work just fine. I got them last year and they definitely make a big difference. Thanks for the comment!
@@HawkinsHikes I ordered these booties from your link and I'm very happy with them. Thank you so much for the vid and the referral. No hard sole on the booties so I try not to walk on them much to keep the insulation from compressing. Love them! Thank you!
Great info! Does the flextail zero have an adapter for the zenbivy pad? Was considering a purchase but wanted to confirm it adapts to my zen pad/mattress. Thanks!

I use the Trekology sand cover, beach mat that I ordered on Amazon (cheaper than Helinox Ground sheet accessory also sold on Amazon).
@lt2246 Great info, thank you for sharing!
Nice video…I have a few of the things but as a noob I’m happy I’m on the right path

Great video! Really glad RUclips suggested it to me. You got a new sub
Hey thanks a lot, I really appreciate it!
I have the Backcountry Exposure food bag and Govee, but the game changer for me has been the OnX Backcountry subscription.
I totally agree, I was surprised what a difference OnX made over AllTrails when it came to planning multi day trips. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for mentioning the hand warmers. I’ve only seen them on Amazon and haven’t met any hikers that use them. I’ll be ordering some!

I totally agree! Those ground chairs are awesome and it’s nice to save a bit of weight too, thanks for sharing!
Good information.
Great idea for a video. Excellent choices. New follower here. Crow

The ThermoWorks thermometer is only 20 something.
Great to know, thanks for sharing!
My feet are always freezing. Where/when did you get the down booties and what was the price? Thanks, great vid

I actually just purchased a Zenbivy ultralight pad, and can confirm it works great!
@ Good deal. Appreciate the confirmation!
I'm too old to sit on the ground so I'm taking a lightweight chair
😂Hey I prefer a chair too, 1lb is totally worth it for that difference in comfort
