This ad was filmed in Belgium. All the livery and uniforms had backwards lettering on them and they were flipped in Post Production.

Why is it called "Autoglass" in England but "Carglass" in Germany? That's so weird!

I suppose the visual aid is for people with the volume off, or for people who can't understand Gavin's accent?
The English version of this ad sounds sooo much sexier than the Australian version.

Why do the car owners in Autoglass adverts always get their wallets out? Who on earth gets someone to do some work and THEN asks how much it will be? Surely they should already know.

Here in the USA, it's "Safelite repair, Safelite replace" with a near-identical storyline and the same musical jingle. But the technician's name in the States is "Erik from Safelite", and Safelite has a different logo.
Not surprisingly, Belron owns both Safelite in the US and Autoglass in the UK.
Gavin's going to make a mint repairing all the riot-hit windows.
@NecroMoebius exactly, the cillit bang adverts are a brilliant example of this, I absolutely hate the adverts, and the guy in them does my head in, but it's no accident that the line "Cillit Bang, Bang and the dirt is gone" is imprinted into my memory
In Australia, there is a similar company called O'Brien... and the adverts are identical, but with an Aussie accent.
I like the Dutch version better. Especially the jingle at the end

in germany its carglass. why it is the opposite word for car?? germany = auto, but its called carglass, uk = car, but its called autoglass.

if i hit a dog (or any other form of animal) , and it chips my screen, is that covered by my pet insurance or my car insurance?

@bigcretin So you hate 99% of all adverts then? Most situations and dialogue in adverts is obviously staged - kinda the point. It's an illustration of an idea not a reality show. There's not supposed to actually be suspension of disbelief - you're supposed to know immediately that it's an advert to better grasp what they're trying to convey.

I used to love seeing Gavin in the ads. I would even rewind on my V+ box. Now, how sad am I. But still it begs the question of why they replaced Gavin. Surely not a "cultural" reason. If so, there should be a law against it!!!

@AutoglassUK Oh, I know that.. It's so Gavin can do his "No, no! Put your wallet away" gesture. It's just very unrealistic and seems so out of place. It's really jarring and the suspension of disbelief comes tumbling down. Anything that seems staged in an advert really puts me off.
