@@MackBayda Hoping for mine soon too, Though not the same been dealing with chronic pain with it and some sketchy looking bloodwork i need cleared by hematologist before being ok'd for surgery... Still not certain if its related or a separate issue Wish me luck brother
This is my first time on your channel, I'm a pre-T transman and I'm so grateful that I found you! Everything will be okay, you got this 🔥 I pray all the best outcomes for you 🙏🏼
i had top surgery this past february and having to go to the hospital by myself was definitely weird, especially since i was only 18(ive been out since 13 and on T since 16). it definitely sucks that i missed out on those happy moments of being with friends/fam before/after but it was well worth it for how much happier i am in my body now :) i’m just so grateful to have been able to get it done after all the pain and discomfort it caused for all those years not to mention i was fortunate enough to have insurance that covered the whole thing. good luck with your hysterectomy Mack! i hope it all goes well and fixes those issues you’ve been having since the beginning of the pandemic.
Thank you!! Glad your top surgery experience went well and that you feel more comfortable in your own skin now! It definitely was scary going in to the hospital alone, but it was worth it!
seeing this late (it’s now November 13), but sending belated healing vibes and all that sort of thing. hope your recovery is going well and you’re remembering it’s okay to not work 💜
best wishes and get well soon! in germany it is a common procedure to get a hysterectomy and top surgery at the same time. literally in one surgery appointment. so maybe that is something that calms you down idk. getting out of bed was tricky because it hurts.
Thanks for the best wishes!! Wow - I've never heard of someone getting top surgery and a hysterectomy at the same time! That's kind of cool that it can be done and over with in 1 hospital stay! I'd think recovery is much more difficult, though!
@@MackBayda Yes, it has pros and cons. It minimizes the surgery risks because of anaesthesia, but recovery is a bit harder. It is not as much thought through or questioned as in the US for many patients here. I mean I have also heard of trans guys in germany who don't want a hysterectomy but I have also heard of a detrans woman who had a hysterectomy. And I have seen a lot of trans guys who have had a hysterectomy without basic knowledge about that surgery (one dude thought he couldn't get HIV after a hysterectomy). I had the 2 in 1 surgery and I'm glad because they have experience with trans people and are nice and you stay there in a room with other trans guys for 5 days and it feels more like vacation :D that can be good or a bit too lighthearted idk :D oh and btw a long time ago in germany there was one surgeon (Doctor Daverio) who did ALL surgeries in one appointment but I don't think that is happening anymore. I think that is really too much for someone to recover and to process mentally.
oh, wow I looked it up: Daverio still does the all-in-one surgery but only for some private insurances. The all-in-one surgery takes 8 to 10 hours with 3 surgery teams and they reuse skin from top surgery. Impressive but it is nothing that I want to expierence hahaha good lord..
I actually can't believe he is still performing surgery. Wikipedia says he is born in 1944. That makes him 77 years old. No ageism, but I would think that is a surgery risk in itself. O_O
I've only just come across your channel and I'm already so proud of you im about to be a parent in January and I'm still mostly closeted around family because they don't understand but I'm not mad at them, I hope your surgery goes well stay blessed xx
Thanks so much! And, congrats on becoming a parent in January 🎉 Coming out to my family was super difficult and took a long time. Don't rush it and if you feel comfortable enough, I hope they take it well!
Hey! You've got this! I'm so proud of you and I'll be in touch when you're home. I love you so much! 💜💜 Sending all the love and hugs and positivity in the world!
Thanks! I think it all depends on the individual, but my surgeon said it takes about 2-3 weeks to be mostly recovered when they make the abdominal incisions and take out 1 or 2 ovaries. That's a lot more surgical cutting than a vaginal hysterectomy, which is what I had. I'll keep y'all posted and hopefully recovery will be smooth and quick!
All the best wishes for you post op now! Congratulations Mack! Much love dude! Happy recovery and Hoorahhh you're FREEE!!!!
Thanks so much!! 🎉 I'm totally free! It's a good feeling!
