I get it too man, alotta people just wanna listen to shit and dont wanna do homework but my argument to that is if they wanna make an argument on who the best is they should do their homework.
Lupe has always been dope. Him and Em respect each other. Lupe was very mainstream during Kick push era, but after that the general public just didn’t want such heady music. It’s unfortunate bc Lupe is amazing. Folks talk about Cole or K-Dot being “conscious rappers”, but they aren’t close to Lupe with talent in actuality.

This might be my favourite album of the year so far. Also with Lupe singing vocals it made me think that Gambino could’ve got to Lupe level if he stuck with the rapping
Nooo lol. I love Gambino but he does not have even a tenth of lupe’s lyrical ability. Gambinos an amazing artist & vocalist but never been the strongest songwriter with his hip hop songs
@@chrismalinowski654 I agree, Gambino knows how to make hits, but lyrically theirs literally maybe only a handful of people on his level and I can't even think of any off the top
@@chrismalinowski654 Respectfully I disagree, if you first listened to ‘Because The Internet’ when you were a little younger, listen again now, it’s even better than it was back then when you deep the lyrics. Bino was ahead of his time in the same way that Lupe was/is. You say he’s not the strongest writer but his freestyles on both Sway and Hot97 are two of the most viewed freestyles on the Internet and he didn’t achieve that by simply being Childish Gambino, he was really saying something when he rapped - same as Lupe. Also a lot of the harmonic chains were similar riffs that Bino went on whilst experimenting for BTI.
@@chrismalinowski654 Yeah that's true, I do think their styles would pair up really well on a collab album doe. Gambino has praised lupe before I think as well.

I heard Lupe said he called it Naomi because he wanted an upbeat/triumphant song on the album and it’s also a shoutout to Naomi Osaka, which goes with the “so swing” in the chorus
