@@JJ-xn9ek I have the Moto G Power 2020, and yep it's stuck on Android 11 with the last security update April 1st 2022 and Google Play system update June 1st 2022, and it does not look like the Moto G Power 2020 will be getting any further updates beyond maybe a surprise security patch if we are lucky, but my battery is still getting about 2 days of usage after almost 2 years, however after the last updates it has become a bit laggy if I let it sit with the screen off for too long With all that said I'm looking at the Nokia G50 for my next phone as it gets around 2 days of battery life, can be had for not much more $, and is guaranteed to get updated to Android 13, and 3 years of security patches. Motorola only guarantees 1 OS upgrade, and about 2 years of security updates for most of their phones, and this kind of makes me sad that for the first time since the original Moto E phone(outside of Alcatel for my Android GO/KaiOS phones that are backups, and tinkering devices in the $30 - $40 range), that I will be switching brands as I've recommended them for so long, and most of my family has Moto G/E phones, but I recently bought a Nokia T20 Android Tablet on sale(also guaranteed to get updated to Android 13 with security patches) with the battery life(I can go through a full day from 8am - midnight with on/off screen usage with 15 - 20% left), and everyday performance having been great, and I even use it as my main compute device at work. So to me it looks like Nokia is taking over the budget/budget midrange market Motorola once had, and is dropping the ball on, more, and more these days.

I got my 2020 version around October 2021, and it's amazing. I use it a ton for Call of Duty Mobile, and it works great! I often play Codm for Multiple hours a day and there is little to no lag. The speed of the phone is quite close between itself and my brother iphone XR. I definitely recommend the 2020 version!
the bad thing about the 2020 is it's stuck on Android 11 with the last security patch dated April 1st 2022 with no further updates insight, and the Moto G power 2021/2022 are both major downgrades for the money, so for the first time in a long time(since the original Moto E) I'm looking at switching away from Motorola for a Nokia G50 that's to get upgraded through Android 13 with 3 years of security patches.
Kevin, always enjoy your comparison videos. I have the Moto G Power 2021. The US Cellular version that I have is 4gb ram and 64gb storage. It absolutely smokes my LG Stylo 6 in actual day to day performance. Great phone for it's price point.

I hate the sensor on the power button. Definitely a personal preference. The back center bottom is much more universal for left or right handed people. However, for right handed people it would be much better barely off centered on the back to the right and still be usable by left handed.
Thanks for your reviews. I have to say that I'm disappointed in my moto power 2021. I chose it to replace my LG stylo because LG decided to get away from making phones. I barely used the stylo feature so I went with battery life. But...I cannot get over how the Motorola company keeps messing-up a good thing. Do the "decision makers" fall out of bed in the morning and decide to rummage through the obscure and old parts-bin looking at the crappiest parts possible? How can a company keep-up the trend of making their phones worse and worse over the years?? Upgrade?? Give me a break Motorola.

I personally consider the 2022 model to be a downgrade from the 2021 looking at all the specs and whatnot. I broke my Moto g power 2021 a few months back and was completely devastated because I love that phone. I ended up spending a little extra money to get myself a Motorola 5G Ace and I'm happy with it. I'm really glad I didn't go with the 2022 Moto g power. I like my budget to mid-range phones and I always did like the g powers but this time I just didn't see them offering much that'd be worth my money.
Got the Total Wireless 2022 for $100 at Wally a few weeks ago. It looked to be about the best price/performance option Total offered at the 4/64 point. On its own it's fine, but I would have happily paid another $10~25 for a faster processor. I only found out about the downgraded CPU after buying it and, yea, I'm mildly disappointed in Motorola. I got a fractionally higher BB score: 183 / 1022, but have only run it once. At any rate, it's vastly speedier than my 4 year old Moto E5, purchased for the same price, so I'm happy enough.

I love the functionality of them all. Long life battery, chop flashlight it the best and super usable in a split second, and the rotate for camera just works great and is easily different enough to know you'll get a camera instead of the flashlight. I wish they had a much better camera for dim light with wide angle, macro, 2x, & 10x optical zoom or something although they aren't bad. Screen that small doesn't need a super high res screen and that just sucks up more battery life anyway. Like to see battery life comparison and camera comparison. Bet battery life is much better on 2022 because of the lower res and refresh which won't matter much looking at it. Also wandering about that camera difference and you didn't even touch on that.
For whichever model the phone that I have the sensor on the side what happens if you had in your pocket and you bumped the side button and then you would turn it on and call somebody
I may be getting my first and only smartphone in a month or so (being forced - tired of people yelling at me). I have been looking and trying to educate myself. Smartphones suck! After looking at every budget smartphone I could I have decided on the Moto G Power 2021. As far as I can tell, the 2021 is far superior to the 2022 version in important ways. The bench scores alone point that out. The 2021 is still available in the unlocked version, but I wonder if it will be when I am ready? I liked the Oneplus Nord N200 until I read one complaint after another about the same thing regarding it's performance. The others I looked at just scare me. The Moto G Power 2021 is the only current phone that would fit me...barely.
Great comparison video. I find it hard to believe that Motorola would use a slower microprocessor in the new phone than in the original phone. But unfortunately, it won't get Android 12 because Motorola only provides one major Android update. The Cricket Moto G Power 2021 is still on Android 10 and I don't know why they haven't updated to Android 11
Really the only upgrade with the new g power is the 90Hz Display because last years g power was better but the 2020 g power was even better than both of these so you cant go wrong when buying one but over all i think either the G Stylus 5G, The 2021 G Stylus Or The New G Stylus Is Way Better Because For The New One Your Only Paying $100 And Your Getting Better performance better display and better camera and the same battery so now i dont really see the point in the G Power Anymore

I see the 2021 model in the video is still on Android 10. It should be upgraded to Android 11 by now. I don't know why Cricket Wireless hasn't updated it yet
It's sad that the moto g7 power from 2019 blows both of these phones out of the water with performance and battery life. And had a louder speaker since it was a top firing mono speaker. That is my major complaint with Motorola it seems like each year they go backwards in quality. I had the moto g7 power, 2020 power and the 2021 power. And each year it seems like they take a step or two forward and ten more backwards. I love Motorola as a brand but in 2023 they need to stop cutting corners and focus on improving the quality to give us consumers more value for our money.
And all these screens have 1080. So I don't know why y'all say the 2020 was better. And the speakers are fine. My only complaint; Battery life ain't that great.
Hate to say it but this comparison was really poor for these phones. We needed an audio comparison, thorough camera with dim light as well comparison, and also a battery life comparison given the screen res differences. These are the main functional differences that change with these phones and you didn't hit on any real world testing for them. Kind of disappointing. Appreciate the video and effort but really just didn't hit on anything I was looking for. Was basically seeming like one of those robot spec comparisons I avoid without the robot voice.

Notice the Moto G Power 2022 comes with Android 11 not Android 12. It should get updated to Android 12, but not Android 13 since Moto only provides one major Android update. I see the 2021 model in the video is still on Android 10. It should be upgraded to Android 11 by now. I don't know why Cricket Wireless hasn't updated it yet
I have a cricket 21 model and its been updated to android 11 several months ago.
Who gives a flying toss about Android versions? Seriously, the only less useful feature is having or not having 5G
Is the 2022 model a 5 g
Now I know why they give them out (Moto G Power 2022 ) on the street corner where I live like candy, with free service.
Why not add specs on the screen as you talk?
My G power 2020 scored 306/1275 on the benchmark.. wow.
Based on all of the comments here I'll keep my 2020 g power
I have one that's to at&t prepaid
I got 64 gigs great phone 2021 is great from colors great fast the games work good on it
And I'm getting the 2022 next week bruh.... damn it. Thank you Verizon for scamming my father and I.
The Benchmark scores here don't compare to my Pixel 6 Pro. 😂
Of course bor! The pixel costs 2- 3 ex's more!!
They both run hot and sluggish at times.
boost mobile moto g power 2021 has 64 gb
The moto g stylus 2020 is the best phone in this lineup
And all these screens have 1080. So I don't know why y'all say the 2020 was better. And the speakers are fine. My only complaint; Battery life ain't that great.
When my 2021 breaks I will buy the 2022
I'll take a Moto G Power over an iphone any day.
I'm the one from last year and I love it
Hate to say it but this comparison was really poor for these phones. Was basically seeming like one of those robot spec comparisons I avoid without the robot voice.
holy fk i got scammed
Alittle much on the technical terms.
My 2020 model is better than both of them.
The G7 lol
Too me who really care what phone is better
losremis
Nee moto looks so cheap.
Hey Everyone, this is Kevin here, if you don't have an iPhone your fucked
Apples the worst
Watching on 2020 version still running 🦾..it's time for an upgrade and going to get Motorola One 5g ace due to the fact that 2021and 2022 version are a big downgrade from the 2020..
