This song is a total bop! I love it so much, probably my favorite of their songs, although it has plenty of competition. :) A great reaction, a great performance...so much fun.
Love Matt in this song, actually in this whole album. I appreciate him and no need to compare him to other basses. He has matured perfectly. The harmonies have gotten better, even PTX can grow and improve.
PENTATONIX is SO AMAZING!!💗
Not only is this song phenomenal, but this entire all originals album is so very strong. Every single song is just wonderful. I had not seen this version, but it's just as good as the video version. Great reaction, too! Thanks so much for doing it.
It's a slight re-arrangement of the studio version, without a lot of the studio tricks they used in the official version. The Lucky Ones is the first album they've done with a LOT of studio tricks, something they used to avoid, but have admitted that this is a new direction they're going in now. If this is the way they will perform the song in actual concert, I have no problem with them doing more tricks in the studio!
Kevin's beat-boxing was on 🔥.
This was a very SuperFruit type sound. Love it.
But if they can't do it live, they don't do it. One of their 2 rules. Other one is no egos. They are a family and accept all strengths and weaknesses. They use the strengths and help each other with weaknesses.
I’m a huge fan and have loved them for years, and btw no hate whatsoever, but are you saying this is completely live?
@@jwmrules this is slightly different from the video. Scott was a bit more into the performance. They do have a more into it live than the video. The biggest difference seen is in the Aha! Singapore star vista performance, which is the ultimate Mitch slap, with an Avi gut kick. The sound isn't as good as the official video, fan cell phone, and Avi blew part of the sound system, which he was known for, and why the band started bringing their own speakers. I've seen them live, and them live is better than the videos. Live, they throw something a little bit special into the mix.
I guess what I mean by if they can't do it live, they don't do it, is from something I read about their first album. The record label produced it so much that the live versions didn't sound like them. The best way to really see the difference is the Hallelujah video, and the Christmas special version. The only difference noticeable is the foot stomps and body beats by Kevin, which are softer.
@@jwmrules This is definitely not live since its a studio version. I think what Heidi was saying was that they wouldn't have covered this song if they were not able to sing it live in concert. I've been to 8 of their concerts and I am 100% sure they can sing this.
Fun fact: I was watching some interview when they were Japan and they were asked what song is the hardest for them to sing. Mitch said Dance of The Sugarplum Fairy is their most complicated and intricate arrangement and is the hardest for them to sing. I've been to a couple of the Christmas concerts and I don't think thy performed it. They could, but I think they didn't add it to the set list
That's no longer the case. They have openly admitted that they did way more studio tricks and overdubs on the new album than they have ever done before. I'm interested to see how they will do some of the songs from The Lucky Ones live once concerts return, because they WILL have to re-arrange almost all of the songs on the new album for live performances.
@@larrywt656 I was just commenting on the fact that someone thought this song was live- which it obviously isn’t bc it’s a studio track. I absolutely agree with you about the effects on this album. I think I read about Scott saying that and brainstorming how they will accomplish some of that live. I think they’ll be able to do it but it’ll be interesting to hear
Great reaction. Song's a total bop.
The first few times I heard this I only heard my Mitch because I’m a Mitch super fan. But once I really listen to Matt and Kevin, OMG. Now I always hear them. Kevin just blows me away. I do have my coffee in bed every morning. But I get it myself because my Husband refuses to make it. I don’t blame him though because I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar. 🤭 really Loving your reactions! Going on to the next one. See ya 👋🏼
OMG- this is my favorite reaction from you two! I've never seen Carrie so talkative and animated- it was great!!! I am totally a huge fan of musicals and like you guys I can't listen to this song without bopping my head and clapping in the last section of the song.
I TOTALLY think you should react to Rent and also other musicals- maybe Waitress?. One of my favs is Sweeney Todd- such a messed up story(but awesome) and the soundtrack is gold! "A Little Priest", "God, That's Good" "Ballad of Sweeney Todd".
"Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd. His skin was pale and his eye was odd. He shaved the faces of gentlemen who never there after were heard of again. He trod a path that few have trod, did Sweeney Todd. The demon barber of Fleet Street"
you'verambling. Anyways thanks for a great reaction guys!
Great reaction. Thanks. Did you see the interview that Corden did with them live on his show that night? Too cute. It's on RUclips.
I'm sure you're already well aware but you should definitely check out their other songs from their new album. The whole album was great!
I like this live version better.
Sooooo good thanks for another great reaction, you probably don’t remember me though lol
