Ahhh Darren you did such a good job with this man!!! I love coming back and watching it!!! Nissa is still kicking and would totally still try everything in this video but I don't let her push it anymore. So having this to always go back to... it brings all the warm and happy feel-goods! Thank you Darren!
Back in the day you helped me get into freerunning and learn my first tricks. Years later, tonight, out of the blue, I decided to look you up again to see if you (and Nissa) were still active and was delighted to find this beautiful video (thanks Darren!) Even better, to see that you posted this comment just a couple of weeks ago makes it all even better! Still staying positive :)
I know! Couldn't have hoped for better lighting and Nissa straight up caught that frisbee at the craziest angle. There is good reason I used that for the thumbnail!
BeyondSlowMotion i have been subbed since quite a while, BRING THE EPICNESS!! But take your time bro haha i know it takes a while t make such sick videos like this one.
Thanks! :) Yeah, music is really important to me in my works. I will spend weeks negotiating rights to use music when I have to. This is also why I always do my best to credit musicians at the beginning, end, and in the description as well. I treat it like a collaboration even when I have to pay out licensing fees since the musicians are often under-served that way.
Nissa is a beautiful and pretty neat dog! And wow to Kyle Mendoza's moves. Watching Kyle & Nissa play, leap, flip, move, etc. is like watching poetry in motion. This video put a smile on my face. :-) You did a great job with the filmwork. Another great video from you! Kyle & Nissa are great. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week. :-)
Thanks! Part of the strong connection from shot to shot just comes from thinking ahead to how I like to cut things. So I will have an subject repeat a certain motion over and over catching it from different angles and perspectives to better tell the story of the movement in ways you would not normally think to do so for an action sports video. Haha My actors are WAY to familiar with the phrase "One more time!" I should seriously make that into a shirt or something.
Thanks! I shoot on a Sony FS700 with a Glidecam 4000. I mostly use a Tamron 60mm f/2.0 macro prime for long lens stuff, a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for wide angle, a Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 for zoom stuff, and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 for certain nuanced shots. :) Probably gonna be investing in the Rokinon Cine Prime lens setup soon though.
Three days of shooting and around roughly 64gb worth of footage. I suppose that would 5.5 hours of footage give or take since this is shot in AVCHD at 28Mbps.
Hi Darren! Can you please make some edu videos about slow motion, for example not some much info about Max Payne film which slo mo special effects was shot on phantom cameras moving on high speeds instead of more classic bullet time effect with many cameras on stable rig.
What camera did you use to film this? I'm looking into getting an FS700 or something cinema-oriented that does slow motion without costing more than 25 grand in the next 5 years... if I could afford one😭

That was amazing! I wonder how much footage is recorded for these four minutes.

Thanks! Is that 5.5h in real time, or at 24fps? (I don't know if I expressed myself correctly)
Fabulous video, I wish I had someone like you to video Koby and his tricks.

What kind of frisbee do you use with your border collie? Anything special? The plastic ones seem to get roughed up easily with my dog.
use a flexible frizby
I want that dog. And how in the world did it do a backflip 1:01
What editor did you use here? Is is Adobe Pro CS6?
Premiere CC and After Effects CC. Both 2014 edition. Adobe cloud is awesome.
me gusta mucho
my favourite part was Nissa.
Give her a soft frisbee, those things hurt!
