- In this episode of the scrap metal replica, I show how to forge replica of the archaeological find of the Viking Age battle axe. To forge it I used wrought iron and old 19-century steel.
Nice welding, it's a beautiful piece!'
Thank you for posting this, I was very interested in seeing how you forged this item. Thanks again!
Excellent work!
Eline sağlık çok güzel işçilik olmuş 👍👌

NICE BEARDED AXE
Класс! Маленькая головоломка=)
I have seen some axe makers open up a v shape in the softer steel, and then weld a harder steel into the center. I guess, depending on the use, welding the piece from one side is just as good. Interesting.
There is several ways of the cutting edge forge welding, look here: ruclips.net/video/JHR3-r5XZAo/видео.html
SUPERB
When will you add handle? Would be nice to see completed Axe.
it will but not by me.
Glad to see a new video from you Sir. How is "Little Hammer" doing?
she is growing and eating everything around :-)
@@officinaferraria LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
8:20 how did you get it stuck together here? Put it in the fire carefully and let the heat stick them together? Or heated 2 pieces separately and hammered em together?
Piękna robota! Co to za cudowny płyn na samym końcu, który tak uwydatnia włókna żelaza?

Very nice work officina ferraria i want to start forging axes and was wondering if you could help me with some more advice. I wanted to know if you could tell me what is the width/thickness and length of your different drifts/mandrels thank you and godbless.
Usually i use round drifts 25, 30 and 35 mm, the length is about 35-40 cm.
@@officinaferraria thanks a ton i really appreciate your help with the measurements godbless and forge on.

How heavy is your hammer?
power hammer has a 25 kg die, hand hammers 0.7 - 3 kg.
