- this is not joaquin pedro valdes and dean john wilson (and frances mayli mccann) performing stalemate at the death note the musical london concert. if anyone asks, u didnt see this

I was there for this!!! Dean infused L with so much sass in addition to the quirks we love. Loved this cast and production
And yeah that audio playing at the wrong time was unfortunate considering I just saw the matinee earlier and could tell exactly how they fucked up. In the matinee the gun at the end slid offstage and Light couldn’t find it. But they covered well
I was there too - for the first night that is - and I absolutely LOVED Dean's take on L! I knew he'd be good as soon as I saw his audition for The Voice - he just LOOKED the part!

I know they're trying their best...I know this was technically just a staged reading and not a full-scale production...but I am pissing myself over the way they keep forgetting the lyrics
Like I swear I can HEAR them looking at each and going "i forgot the line you take the lead--" "i don't remember either *you* take the lead--" "uhhh the songs about winning and losing oh shit--wiN OR LOSE, LOSE OR WIN THIS IS IT"
Anyways love them I just also love live theatre quirks and mishaps

@@erinkellegher7196 oh yeah I know they had issues, but I'm talking beyond that. I'm talking about the hint of panic in their voices, about the way they both start each line softly and wait for the other to sing to make sure that they're singing the same lines because neither is confident that they're singing the right ones

Same when I watched it it threw me off a bit but was still just as amazing!
How many audios do you have?
The first chorus and subsequent verse had some line flubs. The earlier performance didn’t have changes other than Misa’s “Kira’s gonna love my diary”
@@00rabbit7 Oh so they were mistakes? I was confused since the line changes were exactly same in the tuesday evening performance and I know the publisher wasn't in the same performance as me since stalemate had 0 issues but in their one stalemate had an audio cue issue which they noted
@@radbhak597 there were several line flubs in the Tuesday evening performance of Stalemate. With the short rehearsal period I don’t blame them for dropping a line or reversing a lyric. At one point L kinda tripped over his words and then just stopped singing altogether until “who blinks fiiiirst” oh well, it happens.
I wonder if they're going to release the full audio or even the a version of the play. That would be amazing
They have the full Japanese one on RUclips but it's in Japanese

I remeber going to see this on the first day. And they kept messing words up in the songs XD they were all amazing at portraying the characters though

@@strawberrymilk7242 Oooh, I can only echo the other comment here: You're the best!🥹 Doesn't matter if the audio isn't 100% perfect, mistakes happen in every performance. I was so crushed when the English Demo didn't have that song 5 years ago, bc it's one of my favs in Japanese but I cant understand or speak it, so I could only ever vibe to it😂

Idk why they chose to keep in stuff like Sayu’s song but only put in one duet between Light and L lol it’s a weird lineup but since it’s a concept album, maybeee they’ll drop the full thing if they get a full production. Hopefully with the same cast lol I’m already attached and I haven’t actually seen it live
This was the first song from the musical I ever heard, and it's genuinely like the last song I would have guessed wouldn't make the cut for a cast recording except Playing His Game and the songs that feature Ryuk and Rem. All the Light and L duets seemed like such a given considering how easily they can be used to market the show.
Does anyone else think this L sounds like Adam Conover?
