      Ironically, its a compliment to himself though, since he gets to work with such a talented cast. It means the producers thought he was good enough to work alongside them.

      I completely disagree! I love many of his films. Its just most of the films he does are deemed "Academy award winning" unworthy. SO many films, classic films people love to watch over and over again aren't even close to being nominated. So I don't watch or support the Academy. I watch people's choice.

    • @thehandleisuseless
      @thehandleisuseless 9 лет назад +3

      Iternal Muser May be, the problem is that this movie was chose for a January release, that removes all validity to be considered for any of the following Academy Award. (could be for 2015's though, but normally when films are given a January release, its because they were actually, not that good. So, in this case she will not be considered by the Academy, or anyone else for that matter). All this being said... I still don't think she made a breakthrough performance with this. Its probably good, but not that great.

    • @IternalMuser
      @IternalMuser 9 лет назад +10

      Just imagine how difficult this is.. From tutti frutti comedies to this.. she needs more films like this to be established as a great actress, she needs to do many things.. but I really like that she decided at last to start experimenting.. I loveeeing her like this..

      I have SLE I Completely Understand. The last almost 3 months I have been in a worst Lupus flare-up since I was diagnosed. I've always been unfathomably active heavy weightlifting, structural Ironworker up 100 ft in the air on a 4in beam, boxing motorcycles, hiking, fishing, anything water. Now it's Just Pain and all the things I love have been taken away because I can't go in the sun. Then Lupus entered my brain and my nervous system I lost control of my arms and legs so I can never ride a motorcycle again. I've been riding 50 years I'll be 60 next month. I wish for God to kill me near daily. For weeks I've barely been able to walk to the bathroom. IDK if I want to watch this now after reading what you said. Man I hope things get better for you. I don't understand why she doesn't get into better movies. She's obviously a terrific actress and brings raw emotion to her characters. It's not like people are just recently realizing that she has range, any person with eyes could see her talent since the pilot of f.r.i.e.n.d.s. aired two freakin' decades ago. Sandra Bullock has had her fare share of nonsensical films.She does one mediocre performance and lands an Oscar. So to question that this is not worthy of an Oscar is rather too silly.
    Jenifer Aniston just has stereotyped herself and now its just hard to picture her when she is branching out to something a lot more meaningful than to what she is known for.
    I have been very eager to see this.I know she will be good.All the very best Jenifer.

      It must be very difficult for actors coming off of a hit TV series or movie franchise that launched them to public eye, to branch out of character. Not that it hasn't been done, but I feel like it takes an actor/actress with skills to not get typecasted. I like Aniston, she's my favorite, but I feel like she's just a decent actress. The Good girl is an excellent film and her skills are apparant, but not enough for an Oscar. I want to see this film tho. Maybe she might get recognition for the film and get casted for roles with similar weight.

      Your opinion counts for NOTHING. Jennifer cannot and will never be stereo-typed as anything. She has proved herself to brilliantly play the part of various characters (so far in her short career). If she were to be stereo-typed, it would have stemmed from the show "Friends". She's more than that and you know it. You're an idiot.

      I SAY: What shallow world do you live in? Where do you get this "stereo-typing"? YOU find it hard to picture her; what?? Do you think this is her first film after a sitcom? What is this, "what she is known for". YOU MEAN: what YOU know her as. Do yourself a big favor and get educated on someone's career before you start making stupid comments.

      Iwas directed to this movie because It was supose to be about chronic pain. I was horridfied because it protrals a patient ABUSING thier medication and running around like a drug addict. As if people with chronic pain does that or are able to move enough to carry on like that. YES CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS ARE UNDERTREATED. AND YES MANY KILL THEMSELVES BECAUSE OF IT. But the huge majority suffer alone most cant make it to a support group and doctors are not as nice as the ones in the movie. This movie is about an drug addict that turns into a chronic pain patient. Not at all about the majority of patients that are suffering.

      Joe Jon I am so sorry for your suffering. And I know what you're saying, society (namely doctors in my personal experience), treat CPS like druggie assholes. It's extremely cruel. They don't know what it is to suffer in that way and therefore assume a lot. It's not fair at all. Just know you are not alone, Joe. We have to hold our heads high, and know our worth and our fight. Hi, I know this may sound weird, and I'm not trying to come across as a religious fruitcake here but if you don't know about Jesus Christ, I would like to introduce you to Him. He is the Son of God and He loves you, you don't have to live in pain or with illness, because Jesus died on a cross to free us and deliver us from all bondages given to us by the enemy...all you have to do is call on Him in prayer with sincerity of heart and He will be there because He loves you unconditionally :)
      Matt 11:28-30 (AMP)
      " Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and [refresh your souls.]
      29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
      30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good-not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne."

    Jennifer Aniston & Anna Kendrick never fail to amaze me. Jennifer is amazing with everything that she does whether it's serious or not. Anna is just gonna be even more amazing than she is now when she's Jennifer's age. If I were everyone else, I'd keep an eye on Anna, she's gonna do big things.

    I'm assuming not many here have seen her dramatic performance in "The Good Girl" which was over 10 years ago. It's not like this is her first attempt at drama. The Good Girl wasn't quite as much of a drama as this film, but it definitely wasn't a comedy. Check it out if you haven't seen it. She's great in it.

    I don't understand why people are surprised that Jennifer Aniston can pull off a dramatic role... She already proved she could with "The Good Girl," and I was kind of bummed when I couldn't find any other movies where she had similar roles so it's good to see her branching out again.

    I love Jennifer Aniston she's amazing, I wish she gets at least an oscar nominations, I keep reading the comments and some people are just hating, a big part why many people want her to win an oscar is because she has been in famous movies and shows that are still known today and has a lot of fans like me who would like our favorite actress to win and award for her amazing work. Everyone has their opinion but u came here to watch her trailer just say if it was good or bad for u and whether u might see it but why say people are making a big deal, why bother others. I love her and I hope she does win an oscar and that's my opinion and please just respect her as an actress. I mean how many people here haven't watched her show friends or seen movies like horrible bosses, Marley and me, just go with it, the switch, the bounty hunter and many others she has acted on. Although she does a lot of comedy this is her chance to show she got other things to share to the world. So just at least give her a chance to prove she's amazing. I'm not here to fight so please don't comment back if u are going to say something rude cuz why do it, I could find other things enjoyable in life then going around criticizing or brings others down. So hope u guys give her a chance and I just know there have been many other actors and films who we think deserve an oscar but don't have one, so it's the same here, I'm a fan and I would love for her to have an oscar just like someone of u might want another person to win an oscar or other major awards. So yeah hope u guys watched Cake cuz I am. PS if you haven't watched the many movies I listed and the show friends then watch it, she's amazing in all of them and other movies she's in 😄👍

    I had the pleasure of watching this great film on a private screening last night. I must congratulate all actors and director. Jennifer's performance was great. Mexican actress Adriana Barraza who is an Oscar nominee from her work in movie Babel was also great.. The dynamics between the two women (Jennifer and Adriana) was the most beautiful and compassionate... They both Shined! I am recommending it to everyone, and Yes, Jennifer has proven she can do more than comedy!!!

      Alexander Bartlett Not disagreeing with you about other actors & actressed being better than Jennifer (or at least having much better film work than Jennifer). But in my opinion, based on this trailer, Jennifer's acting chops seem to be pretty good (and by "good" I really mean "great"). Lets also note that there are definitely actors & actresses who have NEVER given as good of a performance like the one Jennifer seems to be giving here. I still think Jen could very well get an Oscar nod for this, and I don't have a problem with it. Of course, the trailer could be hype, but it really doesn't appear to be to me. You're welcome to your opinion, and I'm welcome to my own. Cheers!

    I just finished watching 'Cake'. I have lived in chronic pain for over 10 years now. It has changed Everything about my life. I Know there are Many people who are in this or worse situations. From a person who lives with this difficulty, I wanted to share that Jennifer did a Phenominsl job portraying what it's like to experience this cataclysmic change in life some of us experience. I was incredibly touched by her performance; I cried through a full half of it.
    Kudos to all the people involved in this project. As a person who lives it,I am touched and appreciate how well the movie was done. Thank you, to the entire group that made this film. It was nice to see an aspect of my story so beautifully shown and take the Hope the film shared into my heart.

      @CharismaStrategies 9 лет назад +92

      Well it means the trailer did it's job. The trailer isn't necessarily supposed to tell what it's about, but it's only intended to make you curious, to get an emotional response from you. To make you interested. The whole surprise is when you actually go to the cinema to watch the movie.

    • @GoriIIaTactics
      @GoriIIaTactics 9 лет назад +19

      Nostalgic_Chaos All I got from the trailer was that Jennifer Aniston is doing drugs and there's various men in her life.
      Not interesting.

    • @CharismaStrategies
      @CharismaStrategies 9 лет назад +64

      bobobobobiy You didn't see the part where obviously someone who was close to her has committed suicide and now she is doing counselling and open groups to cope with her loss, hence trying to use drugs to numb the pain.
      ... Or, unless you're just a robot and you're unable to identify with pain and other people's loss.
      I guess you missed the part where the aim of the trailer is to allow you to have some sort of compassion for the character. But I guess some humans are just stone cold and cannot relate to pain....
      Go and watch Fast and Furious if that is the level you are on.

    • @GoriIIaTactics
      @GoriIIaTactics 9 лет назад +17

      Nostalgic_Chaos Wow, what got your panties in a bunch? Are you that connected with Aniston?
      I just said I don't know what's going on. At all. That was suicide? That was her husband? Or boyfriend. Wait, was that the same person? Did they just travel back in time?
      I just didn't get it. No need to go all "you aren't cultured enough to enjoy these shitty types of movies."

    • @CharismaStrategies
      @CharismaStrategies 9 лет назад +43

      bobobobobiy My comment was pretty easy to understand, but you chose to take it in a different tone, which is typical...
      It was easy to see in the trailer that there was a suicide, because it was mentioned.
      It's got nothing to do with me being connected Aniston, but I can spot a potentially good movie when I see one. Well written Drama's are usually the movies to be Oscar contenders. If you think this might be "shitty", then what exactly do you define as a good movie then?
      The best films ever made are the ones that have explored human character in depth. That is a fact.

      And I agree with you on that Jennifer should've gotten nominated, but I think people are just warming up to the idea of her in more big serious movies, we're so used to seeing her in comedies. I think she'll be nominated in the future, but I think it's just too soon or something like that. Idk. It doesn't have anything to do with her acting, but just with what we're used to seeing from her I guess. That's also the problem I had at first.

    Jennifer Aniston is excellent as chronic pain sufferer Claire Bennett . This woman is not just experiencing physical pain but mental too .Despite the solemn subject matter i found this quite uplifting. Aniston pulls of her best performance to date.
    As a chronic back pain sufferer myself i appreciate how debilitating it can be and she makes it look like she really is in pain even down to the movements ( or lack of them ) that she makes and also how grumpy it can make you.
    There are good performances also from Sam Worthington and Adriana Barraza.

    Its about time someone did a movie about what its like to deal with chronic pain. I just hope it truly shows understanding. I fi done of the toughest parts is if others can't see it they have a hard time believing it exists. It can be so alienating especially with family.
