> everyone got nerfed besides Scott and Alejandro If by nerfed, you mean became less competent, how does that apply to Zoey, but not Scott? Scott was more competent with how he intentionally made moves in ROTI, and Zoey won three immunities here. > Heather was never this dumb She openly and proudly read a diary, which sure, she was able to weasel out of, but it doesn't change that she damaged her own social game for effectively no reason, and her weaseling out wouldn't have a 100% guaranteed success, as she didn't get a majority vote on her side, just half. Also, she kissed Trent, incriminating herself as well, and likely would have gone if she didn't get an immunity > Gwen opposite as in Island Well, she's still critical and oftentimes complains here, also adding in some insults, especially in SMS, so no, she wasn't an opposite. And plus, the whole point of Island was to deconstruct the edginess she put around herself, like in Action, she admits that while swooning over Trent saving her necklace was whimsical, she did it anyway. > Repeating the Action finale The similarities you gave were pretty surface level and I wouldn't call them fully accurate. Sure, it's underdog, but Lightning was not portrayed anti-heroically like Duncan was. Duncan was meant to be a jerk who Beth befriended over the course of the penultimate whereas Lightning was meant to be an unambiguous antagonist to Cameron, more as a villain or at least an antagonist. > Zoey way too perfect How so? In Revenge of the Island, she is entitled and borderline r/nice regarding her relationship with Mike, is naive and easily manipulatable, but both Scott and Mal, ending up taking the latter outright to the finale and the narrative outright calling her out for being a dumbhead several times, her asking herself in the confessional how could she be such a fool, Alejandro thinking that her blindness makes her deserve Mal, and Mal wondering how gullible she could be. Oh yea, and she almost loses herself like Courtney with the Commando Arc, Zoey is a flawed character. I do think she was too buffed and oversimplified as a character in All-Stars(which is why Idg the complaint that she was nerfed), but she was never perfect, and I'd argue one can sense insecurity and uncertainty in her voice as well. > female version of Alejandro I don't think they can be compared too well, Julia was found out very early in comparison and went full mask-off pretty soon, her persona was a lot more of a thin shell compared to Alejandro who while getting more and more sus, Owen slowly but surely catching on, still projected his persona even at the end with cozying up to Cody > too much power As Duncan said in Super-Hero-ld, "You can't win immunity forever", her power was burning up pretty fast, so I don't think she was shown as invulnerable, and also, a major gag of Action was that as Courtney stayed in the game longer, her lawyers and PDA became less and less reliable, leaving out-of-office messages and the like, and Chris being able to enforce what he wanted to with Courtney being able to do less and less about it, there being a general power struggle between them. > Beth was kinda just there Well, presence perceived is a bit subjective, but someone measured word counts, and hers in Action is the second highest, only being outmatched by Duncan. And I'd say she had arguably the most prominent rivalry with main antagonist Courtney, being the first to criticize her heavy-handed conduct in Oceans 8 or 9, repeatedly swiping her PDA, and being one of the two(the other being Duncan) to vote her out in Top Dog. Sorry if I got too critical, so here are some things I liked about your video: First of all, I think arguing that Priya's voice brings about her imperfections and betrays her projection as an ultimate Total Drama champion is a rather interesting idea. I like the Action love, it is a contender for my favorite season, so appreciation for it is welcome. Giving PI and AS D and C- instead of F and F or F and D is cool, I think the vitriol for them feels a bit offputting at times, so arguing they were underwhelming instead was a lot easier to get behind. Thanks for reading, hope I wasn't too harsh in my counters lol
I agree 100% with the ranking
> everyone got nerfed besides Scott and Alejandro

> Heather was never this dumb
She openly and proudly read a diary, which sure, she was able to weasel out of, but it doesn't change that she damaged her own social game for effectively no reason, and her weaseling out wouldn't have a 100% guaranteed success, as she didn't get a majority vote on her side, just half. How so?
In Revenge of the Island, she is entitled and borderline r/nice regarding her relationship with Mike, is naive and easily manipulatable, but both Scott and Mal, ending up taking the latter outright to the finale and the narrative outright calling her out for being a dumbhead several times, her asking herself in the confessional how could she be such a fool, Alejandro thinking that her blindness makes her deserve Mal, and Mal wondering how gullible she could be. > female version of Alejandro
I don't think they can be compared too well, Julia was found out very early in comparison and went full mask-off pretty soon, her persona was a lot more of a thin shell compared to Alejandro who while getting more and more sus, Owen slowly but surely catching on, still projected his persona even at the end with cozying up to Cody
> too much power

> Beth was kinda just there
Well, presence perceived is a bit subjective, but someone measured word counts, and hers in Action is the second highest, only being outmatched by Duncan. @@uglyfense7754 I really did enjoy your criticism
Btw when I mean nerf I mean the characters acted worse than in previous seasons
@@ad744extra3 Ah I see
