Recreating shoots from movies is a really good way to improve cinematography / lighting.
    Good job 👍🏼

I think the 1st scene you were recreating had more contrast and shadows because the board behind her was used to bounce the light to her face rather than having the light directed to the talent

How do like the bmpcc for youtube videos? I’m looking into buying one but since it doesn’t have continued af I don’t know if its the right fit. I originally want to make short films and dream of eventually becoming dp and the bmpcc is the perfect short film camera but a fx3 can also be that but with af for the yt video but is just not as good for the actual short films.

I‘m a big fan of blackmagic‘s cinema cameras. Camera works with me, we think likewise and I always manual focus. Just get a big screen and or wireless screen with follow focus and you‘re good. Most (good) lenses don‘t even have AF. Also only thing you‘d miss having autofocus is filming yourself sometimes. Or when one man band gimbal operating than you‘d need someone to pull focus.

both are great cameras though. If you grade fx3 well you‘ll get a filmic image too. No issues there. FX3 dual native iso is also crazy for more run and gun lighting etc.

ah really cheap one from feelwrld i bought like 3 years ago. Don’t recommend. It was the cheapest i could find but it was urgent. Back then there wasn’t a good price performance ratio like today’s market. Now you’ll get really good ones starting 400+ or even for 200 you’ll find better ones than I could 3 y ago

but since i now have a blackmagic 6K G2 with a good 5” attched monitor (same size actually) it’s not tooo urgent for me but definitely upgrading in a bit
