late to the conversation, but nothing really means shi t. Just silly thing people do to feel like what they listen to is unique, belong somewhere and feel like they're the only ones entitled to listen to the genre. Happens in punk, hardcore, metal, sports, religion and everything. The same dudes that argue if someone says something "incorrect" about their favorite bands that don't even know them personally. Kinda sad.
So I gotta ask. I’m new to this band. Much prefer the older turnstile than the new radio friendly stuff. New stuff is still good to me though. Was there a lot of angry “OG fans” when they got more popular and changed their sound? Just curious
don't worry jerry, regardless of what this ^ condescending prick thinks, you shouldn't have to know that Beastie Boys were heavily influenced by Bad Brains or general NYHC. I'm glad you dig it.
Kenny Dashark imagine beastie boys having a show with like madball or backtrack playing some old jams (shouts out to long island if anyone out there is reading this)
IDK why they just didnt go by 2 names/monkiers....turnstile for some cross-over/metalcore/HXC......and some fufu/nu-nu bois youth crew toxic positivity circle jerk band/name for who they peform for "NOW" so any time we see "Turnstile" on a line up we could actually expect HXC....like oh IDK anyone else that ever existed in the scene but instead we get these radiohead/deaftones npc/normies circle jerking with their toxic positivity as lube at the whole venue IDK cant fw that energy fake bs.

One thing I Pick up on since everyone is comparing the sound to other bands is not only those mentioned but the music and vocals sound like AVAIL and MADBALL
TRAVIS BICKLE is HARDCORE.. he is my GURU, woulda ended my existence yrs ago if he didnt let me ride shotgun on some of his fares & when he speaks, i feel im in the presence of a thousand ENLIGHTED BHUDDAs
That made me grit my fuc*in TEETH... I havent heard something that good in years and years, Kind of mellowed out but DAAaaaammn was that simply SWEEEEEET a.F
The mix and production on this albums reminds me of stripped down late 80's bad brains after h.r. Left, like Quickness album. Pretty gnarly. This is the kind of tunes that go through my head when I think of California hardcore. Very west coast. Keep it tight, cha.
why everyone here is flexing their balls? "this sound like *insert band name*". comparing bands is fucking lame. no one is impressed by the amount of bands you know.
Why be so negative? These comments allowed me to find plenty of new music that sounds similar to one of my favourite bands. Knowledge comes from all places
@@stuartdance5587 good for you then but imagine you come up with a song, you want to share it with others, and everyone is like "you sound like *this*"; "you sound like *that*". you want opinions and criticism, not comparisment. it really is frustrating, yet people still think they compliment you by saying that. you want to do your own thing, not to be a copy and thats exactly what hides behind these words. its nice you found some new music tho, at least something good came out of it
Narshredder that's actually how i got introduced to this band, and "real" hardcore in general. i was watching that misheard lyrics video with all the metalcore bands like "ya this is pretty funny" then turnstile came up and i got hooked immediately
Joe Giel yo! This was a 7" that Reaper Records released. 1st pressing was on transparent blue wax and was only of 500 I think, maybe 1,000. Reaper later re-released on bone white wax(500 made) and traditional black vinyl(2000 pressed). I'd keep an eye out on eBay for one to pop up. I've got the blue but I might be willing to part with my black copy, if you really want it
What a shame now they sing about holidays and have a chick playing guitar 🤣🤣🤣🤣 miss the old days of swinging my swinging my heavy hand, this is a great ep
0:00 Death Grip, 3:10 The Dream, 4:54 New Rules, 7:29 Pressure to Succeed, 10:42 The Things You Do, 11:46 Heavy Hand

THE INK We used to tear up the stockroom at work banging to this shit hahaha
Coachella kids would be scared to see this version of Turnstile live.
They don't know fr
Saw them at no values I was expecting something like this I was very surprised 😂
Yes but It’s Kinda cool that they go mainstream in todays music era...
I remember seeing turnstile and getting a fist to the face . Back when it was still jock shit. Turnstile fucking rules
Man I miss this era of Turnstile
Check out Mexicos hardcore scene. They're keeping it alive out there still

One of the best hardcore EPs ever recorded. Turnstile is KING 👑
not even close..., still a nice EP
More like metal, the music is too slow to be HC. HC to me is like Minor Threat, Ignite, Ten Yard Fight, and so on.
no title fight is
biohazard? helmet? rage against the machine?....definitely bringing back some 80s-early 90s memories

Their best album imo
Ya all downhill from here imo :(

Sounds like a Hardcore version of the Beastie Boys in parts. Pretty kewl...
was thinking the same :)
seems like you don't know that the beastie boys started out as a bad brains rip off hardcore band.

Influenced yes, but rip off bad brains??? Ummmm no. If you think that then your ears are full of poo.
They'll never make anything this heavy again but I'd love to see 'em try. They're great regardless of era.

'' New Rules '' beginning is so fugazi... :D :D
***** Yeah, just like 'Waiting Room'. :)
Monoslay Cassavetes too
+Andreas G. that fugazi feels.
totally yes
If Freaky Franz's musical hero is Joe Lally, well...I'm more than ok with that.
The opening riff for Things You Do is 100% lifted from Madball - Can't Stop, Won't Stop.
Check out Angel Du$t. If you like TUI and Turnstile. ;)
Fake
i like this way more than the new album
+brenden myhill
You even checked out Nonstop Feeling?? It's like this + step 2 rhythm ON CRACK! Production value way better too!

Check out All Out War if you haven't already (Burning Season, Resist), they're exactly that but from the 90's.
