I was in the Coast Guard for over 10 years, I boarded hundreds of boats. I was never that angry towards the skipper of any vessel that was cooperating with the USCG boarding. Maybe the camera made her nervous or maybe she needs to be retrained and maybe see the Counselor at the base dispensary.

Then the CO of the Station, Group LE Command and an Admiral. (The Coast Guard is quite small). So while you can board any vessel that is afloat, you are expected to conduct a boarding and move on to another or other duties. You can’t board the same boat multiple times to piss off the owner or anything like that. You have to do reports and they are looked at. Your time is accounted for and logged. Plus the Coast Guard is ALWAYS under staffed.

I was in the Coast Guard for over 10 years, I boarded hundreds of boats. I was never that angry towards the skipper of any vessel that was cooperating with the USCG boarding. Maybe the camera made her nervous or maybe she needs to be retrained and maybe see the Counselor at the base dispensary.

@@Lip_Gallagher Well, Yes. But it’s a federal law enforcement job and you have to answer to people above you. Starting with the Coxswain (Captain) of the Patrol Boat. Then the CO of the Station, Group LE Command and an Admiral. (The Coast Guard is quite small). So while you can board any vessel that is afloat, you are expected to conduct a boarding and move on to another or other duties. You can’t board the same boat multiple times to piss off the owner or anything like that. You have to do reports and they are looked at. Your time is accounted for and logged. Plus the Coast Guard is ALWAYS under staffed.

A chartered boat is a ''hired'' or contracted boat it has nothing to do with the number of people on board. If the boat is rented or leased they may get away with calling it chartered.

I was a boarding officer for most of my years in the Coast Guard and did not carry myself, nor speak the way this young lady does. She creates a dangerous level of tension as soon as she approaches anyone on the Navigable waterways. She acts like a game warden looking for a wildlife park or refuge to name after her.
You have no idea how she and her colleagues acted or how the boat owner acted before the before this selected little clip. These “live-streaming” people are great at getting reactions and then showing only the snippet that they choose to show.
Think back to your career. I’m sure you encountered some people who, based on their disrespectful behavior, changed your demeanor into a more stern and aggressive approach. If those clips were recorded and published on RUclips, without the disrespectful behavior leading up to it, you would be getting bashed too.
